Snail mail!

'I was mailed a few gifts recently! Talk about feeling loved. ;)
& believe it or not - I was gifted TWO recycled buddha bottles in the same day- I think LB is calling!! One was transformed into a wonderful incense burner (seen below) it works terrific as you can see in the photos, all the way from my friend Toti in Mexico! Talk about make me smile, her handsome hubby *I tell him this all the time, I cant help myself, he has such a wonderful smile...  he put some TLC  into this buddha bottle for me.  Earlier in the same day my pal Cathy came over with a 'Buddha Totem' recycled garden art! Complete with a bee glass my friend Dave from high school gifted me! -It is such a beautiful reminder by the pond of my friends, sunshine and  life in general!  I am so inspired I might try to make one!

Tara Roberts- a glass artist I've become IG friends with also send me a slice of her recent millie pull! Alice in wonderland! It's pointillism with glass IMO,  I shared the images before - Tara and her  partner - Jason also a glass artist are now working on a wolf in the forrest!
I hold the tiny pieces in my hand and admire the patience and work that goes into this glass masterpiece!  The rose in Taras piece was made by Jerry Kelly. It's so small, it amazes me to hold it. I have a bigger  rose and I also have been playing with it in a drawing.. more on that later!

I also had this woman make me a set of dish towels! I approached KC Kush on IG and asked if she would be interested in BARTERING, she said sure! We made a mutual agreement and  exchanged gifts! The thing was she did not really know me and she researched -  I received the dish towels and thanked her! I then - gifted a couple to friends - it's what its all about- they too loved them! Spreading the love one tea towel and POT holder at a time  ;)
I was honest and told her I loved them, but I daunting out in the kitchen - I kept one town for my studio desk, I love it- being black - you do not see all the INK when I clean my brushes.  It turns out she read my blog and then made me a custom apron!!
I clearly now own the coolest cutom Cannbis apron ever - called it.
K.C.Kush on Instagram  It is comfortable, funky & fun - not to mention my 2 favourite colors! She has an ETSY shop if anyone is interested: https://www.etsy.com/shop/pnwcannacreations

I like to 'gift' art as you might be aware and yes it is nice to get gifts in the mail, letters, cards, stickers, notes, books! My gosh - I just got two books from Norway! lol - perfect timing for the gazebo reading hour.  It's true give and you get back.
I tell you, I love each gift as much as the other - each was sent with TLC - that is what means most to ME.

I'm going in my painting room now to paint a GIFT for friends...  cause thats what it's all about.

tomorrow - the BEEhouse boxes. ;)

March 1st!

March the Month of celebration! I shall make it so!
March 1st:
NEW hair cut!
Yoga mat and swanky outfit (lol) It does feel good, it was not expensive.
Start YOGA today! DONE!
Watch new  'Tom Hardy' movie tonight on Netflix (Yes, I am a Tom Hardy fan)!
Mail out a postcard make someone happy! DONE

Tara Roberts is a glass artist who just finished a very cool Alice in Wonderland pendant with the assistance of her partner Jason Lee.  Both incredible glass artists - have  a look, you will see why, but it's Tara's Yoga stuff that has me smiling... her outfits are crazy! I guess I never knew Yoga outfits looked like that.  It's been on 'My Mind and today was the Day!
She posts herself and I've decided to do the same.  More on Tara's glass soon.

In a few days I'll be 'another year here.' :)
I don't sruggle with weight at all- anymore, with what is happening in this brain - but - the other day I had to get under my desk  - and had just as hard a time getting down as I did getting up again!! Seriously! I thought "my God Georgia! STRETCH and do it right!,  I know too many '80 year olds',  who could run circles around me right now!"
I got my hair cut at Aldos salon, in town for as long as I have - he still looks th same & Mary who cut my hair, made it a lovely exeerience, I was relaxed. I am grateful.
Anyhow Yoga was a failure- I couldn't see my computer once on the floor, the dogs had me laughing so hard it could hardly catch my breath at on point and Poppy was poppy! When I had an attack, she comes and stands over me - the harder the twitch the harder she presses down! lol So, Yoga was infact a great success. I felt good, stretched - I did very little - that was the agreement I made with myself.
I'll finish this evening the same way, before bed. Without he dogs.
Scruffy too, would not get off my matt!! Never a dull moment.
Back to my painting - cannabis nature quote

A a few favorite movies - The Wizard of OZ  < original and best version - EVER
& Alice in Wonderland -  the Disney version preferably but not long ago my VHS finally ATE it. I was disappointed - I still kept the case!  I DO like the version with Johnny Dep - and hear a new one is out this year! I decided to FINALLY read the book and I am on Chapter 3 this is the first drawing of a few - I cant wait to paint the Tea Party!
I am drawing what the book inspires. I've recently met online a new Glass artist Tara Roberts , she planted the seed-  to see the Alice in Wonderland piece she is working on - wow.  Have look  at her instagram account or Facebook - 'Pointalism' in Glass!!!
I am watching how her Alice's coming together and it is interesting!   I have an idea from Jerry - but -Kowabunga- A new appreciation and respect level has been reached again for these artists who work in Glass.

Starting with sketch book doodles and now my first Alice watercolor .. I've at least a full day more and I cant wait!  I am truly at peace when I paint. I can forget-- IT still happens but I can be so 'lost in tiny details' I soon forget - the pain can be -  thought past!   Keep Busy.
Do what you love and give thanks!

More on Tara soon. I'll wait until the piece is done and share images of it- I asked she said it's o.k.  * in my e mail  back and forth I learned she was in a bad bike accident & now is having tremors,  she just had her first tests and is frightened -  But she's focused on her art, passion - hat making and more! Bead work- YOGA and I believe, like me - feels there are not enough hours in a day to create!
Keep going, Keep doing, Keep loving, Keep Being.

Back to Alice!!
What will you create?

Roses are red...

My rose from Jerry. ;)
I love my little everlasting red rose. It is one of 3 Mille (Murrine Glass) I keep on my desk.
I just found this site online - go have a peek. It features some of one of my favourite glass guys work. ;)  & you will have a better understanding of Mille. I didn't have that long of a glance, but some really nice images, like the 'Yoda', also very cool. ;)   I'm going to draw Yoda and Kermit again soon.

Jerry Kelly - who made my Laughing Buddha pendant  which I wear often, each time I see my sons stress level rise. I get it, one time he made me take it off because I kept banging it against the table when I leaned forward to speak to him - the table had a metal edge.
When I am not wearing it - it hangs in my office from the very first laughing Buddha painting I did on 'board'. I also have couple mille and components (I'm learning the lingo)
of Laughing Buddha.  It's quite the beautiful collection I have!
As proud of each one, cherished more than any royal dolton, simply because they were also created by friends. Artist. People like us.

Jerry is one of the nicest people I've had the pleasure of getting to know a bit about,  the past couple  of years. I was hoping to visit this past summer but I had a million and one excuses. I'll tell you I've noticed a pattern, I say 'I'm going here' and 'I'm going there', but  most days I can't even imagine driving to Toronto let alone go to Spain... lol  is it a defence mechanisms? I don't know.
Storm and I do talk about travel & who knows what tomorrow might bring.
Dare to dream.  I won't ever stop.  As my friend Jerry would say All Day Every Day!
The past couple of years I have learned he is  a 'good guy', with a big heart.
Figure it out for yourself.
He is on Face book  'Jerry Kelly' - check out his work, passion you will see the artist - who has clearly mastered his own unique style.  ;) You will thank me.
He is having a contest!
I won't enter, if I won everyone would think it was fixed. lol  One time I picked my aunt Sharon out of a couple hundred people. I did not let her win but sent her something anyway. lol

The odds are great, he is only selling 25 tickets at $100. each!
Valentines day is on a Sunday, as soon as they all sell he will have the draw!

I hope it is in time for then! If I know Jerry - he does not promote - so I am!   lol
For a nice meal, roses and bon bons you are looking at $150 easy.  and that depends on the 'nice meal'. I know our Canadian dollar is not great right now, but I thought some 'American blog' readers might be interested. - or any collectors! It is worth over $2500!
He saved Norms A$$, I don't need roses - I have this one- it will last forever.  ;)

Jerry is by far one of the best in the business, I am pleased to call him friend.
Interested in getting a custom piece from Jerry - Ha!
I know people who have been waiting a very long time..  and several still willing to wait.
You just might be the winner of this set tho - GOOD LUCK!

Today is Davids Birthday!?

PictureI look at this and can't help but think So glad David has been with us on this journey. <3
FaceBook notices - when will I learn- shut them off!  Lead me not into temptation, an e mail notice arrived --  it's David Kaminski's Birthday!  My other 'Favorite Glass Guy!'  I won't log into FB but I will blog about David! It's time & it's his Birthday!
Here I go... I Love David! lol - I do and he knows it! I tell him monthly at least - lol in e-mail and FB messages.

When did I meet David? It was before the first EXPO and it was at an event, put on by a new Cannabis awareness event/club.  Instantly - I liked David!  His smile! His enthusiasm for life an his Faith in God & in Cannabis was obvious all around!   I had a little table set up and  we talked about Storm and Cannabis.  Our photo below - we have both 'grown' quite a bit in 5 years I think.  I next met David again at the first TY EXPO we shared! He was there with his glass & so it began. My introduction into the glass world!
*Remember at the TY medical Cannabis EXPO - I had no time to socialize - let alone go around looking and learning about  glass, it was where I was (thankfully) introduced to a world on new art and artists! I'm pleased to thank God for putting David on a path that has taken me where I had no concept... as I sit here and touch (close to my heart, mentally & physically) my Laughing Buddha pendant,  Jerry Kelly created.  I alter that with my Zen Kitty pendant by Stephen Boehme! - Which is  guarded by my 'mighty hippo' when not wearing.  Storm pointed out " you have the coolest jewelry of anyone I know!"  Me too! I agree.  LOL  That and my promise of Love from Norm ;) I always wear. hee hee hee
Wow! Close to my <3 and I have David to thank - he introduced & arranged for Jerry and Stephen & I to work together. This is why David still does not have an original. lol
It has to be special.  It has to be one that says this is for David. * ALSO - it is the only time some said 'hold a piece of art work'  and someone else really begged/bugged me - and I let it go. That was David! I still feel bad about it ( I will make it up to him)- clearly he forgave me it was long before all of this. That is David.  < He WILL forgive you and he will mean it! & you will know he does.

David is a millie glass artist as well! lol - Im so impressed with David the person  I almost forget about David the artist ;) UNTIL I see what he is doing- some he won't show me!! I want to know what happened to the puppet- do you think he will answer my e mail? I'm smiling.

From what I gather his speciality is black and white- it has a clean crisp signature- again  I'm amazed at he level of talent to be able to create in glass, many have difficulty with on paper!  I recently drew him a few little ideas - I hope he makes them, they made us giggle. He made a 'Wilma' that Fred would go bonkers over! Me too - lol.  What stands out about David in my mind above his glass is his love for others and positive attitude and never ending  display of compassion and patience for others- lol - just watch his FB page. He puts it to the test all the time and I love it!
Oh! He also - I recently discovered (God has a way of showing me things when I NEED to see them) ha quite the talent for writing as I discovered in some back issues of a glass magazine - I'm only now getting around to reading!  A man of many talents.
He inspires me to be a better person.

Storm and I have quite a on going joke at the moment and he teases me- David said he sent something - well I've learned these glass guys - are like... me -  LOL! We ask - 'whats your address?' and then - WAIT...It's not intentional it is a fact and I understand it. We are creative, busy and doing 'it' all. David had a contest a while back - I did not get my mille slice :( - I didn't blame David - it was not  the first item I have no received- I blogged about it before - I'm having trouble with the postal service. Stuff is going missing! We were discussing it as a family last night.  What do you do?  I replaced the lock!? Who do you call?
*Say Ghost busters and I might poke you  in the eye!  Blame? Ask? Lost in transit?
& Health Canada wants us to get our medicine like this?
So, David said he mailed something, I remind Storm to check the mail and he said - "I don't know about David..." (with a smirk on his face) -Storm agrees with me... David is one of the nicest people we know.  BTW - he really did just check - no mail! good! I just want to wish David Happy Birthday! I am so happy he is is my life. He makes me smile.
He is also a Jesus Fan. <>< !   Or should I say...  Yes! Yeshua !  Hee hee hee - couldn't resist. ;)
Have a peek at some of Davids work below. Did you read the blog, about the time I lost the glass slice he gave me -TWICE!? - LOL - So Forgiving!

Some days I find my tolerance is low.  Tolerance of everything and everyone.
I've only myself to blame.
The things that upset me some days can seem so trivial - on the grand scale.
I must remind myself to focus.
Focus  is painting. Peace is painting.
Do what you love and get lost in it. Let go and let God!

I am in such a Laughing Buddha mood! Jerry Kelly sent me a Laughing Buddha pendant!
It is  beautiful -I look at it in amazement!  The next thing I know, I realize I have such a smile across my face!  I feel loved when I wear it (them) I know when I work on art for anyone I put TLC into it - as most artist do - so yes, I feel blessed and to turn LB into glass - for more to enjoy!  It too puts a smile on my face! *It's nice to have my face hurt from smiling.

He also included a slice of his signature rose and a flower that is also in the pendant!
As an artist- I stare in awe! He draws as well in glass as I can on paper!
He has found his peace! Look where it got him! He will be on 'this bus' at The Grateful Glass Gathering,  he is excited and I get why.  He has been making glass for 20 years and IT became his love at a Grateful Dead concert as I understand. How it all started...  all day every day.
I wore my pendant right away on hemp rope but I need to make a proper rope for it with a  couple of beads. I hope you can't 'wear out' glass from fondling. lol
I'm considering a road trip to visiti Jerry - I'd love to see something made from start to finish.

NOW, I'm finishing a cartoon for tomorrow and starting a painting of edible mushrooms
on the forrest floor with some sails thrown in for good measure - so I might be away for a few days. ;)
Peace be with YOU.

Have Faith <><

Put your mouse over the photos below to see my Laughing Buddha Pendant!
Thank you Jerry! XOX!

Clay Day!

20/1/2015

Yesterday, I decided to spend the day with clay! I could not stand it any longer,
Storm bought me clay for Christmas and I was determined to use it. I set up my room the day before. The problem has been my fingers on my hand have been swollen from arthritis, I decided - forget it - who is in charge here ? LOL
I mentioned before, Stephen is on p.i.n and he creates in clay!  It was one of my first passions  in high school!  Then, I also had access to a kiln and a wonderful art teachers Mrs. Obrien & Mrs. Shaker.  I've played with 'fimo' but there is something special about Clay, the feel of it on your hands, even as it dries is  'healing', for me anyhow.
I added a bowl of cool water and my hands went in for a dip when ever I had the urge, it felt terrific!
Music, clay... the girls by my side, I was able to slip into 'creative meditation' where I focus on good thoughts - most of them just happen to be about God!  And GOOD!

Suddenly  Laughing Buddha started to appear and it made me smile - not even being aware.
I did not draw it out before hand specifically because I wanted 'to play', I did not want to set any expectations up for me or the clay.
I medicated, only a few times, only  when I would  become aware of the physical pain  from time to time. I don't always thing Cannabis can heal my pain, but it certainly helps my mental pain.
Just as I was finishing  the last detail of the lotus flower, Storm came home and he had mail! A Box from Stephen G. Boehme., Storm had to open it as my hands were covered in clay and the instant I saw my pendant I teared up.
I knew Stephen was making me something, he told me a while back he was making me a zenkitty pendant.  But to see it... Hold it...
Here is was in my hand and I felt 'loved'  Storm just said  "wow, mom."  It is so beautiful.

I sat thinking about Stepehen - sending loving vibes out as I created in clay... and they were returned. <3

This is how it works.   Life.

LB is getting painted today!!!

Me & Jerry Kelly!

Picture
* I should say... me and my 3 glass guys. :)
If only in my mind! lol

I was introduced to Jerry though David Kaminski a friend we had made at the beginning of this journey. More on David later this week. David approached me and said 'glass artists he was working with were interested in turning ‘Laughing Buddha’ (my cartoon character) into ‘glass’, would I be o.k. with that?'
o.k.?? I was thrilled and that is BEFORE I had a clue of what is involved, now -  I don’t even know what to say.

Jerry made  'Laughing Buddha' but the timing was a bit off..
I had a brain thing, surgery and because so much was going on, I hardly even remember talking to Jerry or David! Thankfully I had my ‘L.B. Millie by Jerry Kelly for a reminder’.  I wanted to thank him. I woke and looked at one of my favorite cartoons I had framed in my bedroom and my mind said 'this belongs to Jerry!' I was upset! LOL! I hardly got to enjoy it! I sent it, he told me they have ‘a thing for suns!’ and I knew it was meant to be.

As the past year went on I noticed Jerrys work 'FB page'  Jerry Kelly Glass was not really focusing on his art, and I get it, many of my men friends are the same. Still, it needs to be seen!  I started to bug him - lol-  literally! Asking if I could help.  I am, now helping with the FB page.  He has done all the work, Im just helping find and post his images ;)

The past year, watching Jerry, his posts, searching for samples of his work, an easy task when you are looking for an artist who has a ‘look’ all of his own! I started to read the comments and time and time again , I was reading about, not only what a talented artist - his works says it all  - but I was continually reading about a ’great guy’. Well liked and respected in the glass community and in general life.  Why wouldn’t I help?
We are here to serve each other.  Jerry also does work with others- that tells me a lot too. ‘Collaborations’ - Mind blowing results. You cannot achieve such success IMO, IF you don’t get along with others.

Surprising enough (and I owed her an apology- as time went on) I realized that Jessica, Jerrys  ‘better 1/2’ (we girls got to stick together!) of 22 years, also knows her way around the glass gallery! It appears she too has earned respect in her own right. I’m still learning.

We have chatted on the phone a few times, I have to giggle when I thought the other day 'Now he has two of us ‘REMINDING’  him of stuff to do all the time!’ LOL!
I send him ideas & suggestions! I can’t help it! He has humored me to date. lol
We are talking, planning and working on new and exciting ventures! I am ‘beyond thrilled’, not just because he’s ‘Jerry Kelly Glass” but because they are my friends.
We get buy with a little help from our friends.
*Soon, anyone that buys any 'Laughing Buddha' off of Jerry can e me for a comic and LB post card. In the process of being printed ;)

Jerry made me a Laughing Buddha pendant...  I have not seen it yet - from learning how long people have been waiting for a custom piece by Jerry, I’m waiting, patiently.
I get Storm to check the mail 3 times a day though!
lol - Kidding.
^^  (*LOL he read this over my shoulder and said -no your not!) LOL

Have a look and if you can treat yourself - Do it! His Marbles and Millie are  the envy of many collectors ;)   If you can afford a nice smoking apparatus, why not!?  If you don’t know anything about glass art, watch a few ‘yortube’ videos you will get a new appreciation for the talent very quickly. Here is one of Jerry's vids.

Look at the photo I found of Jerry & his daughter Telyn. Below
I figure whatever I 'find online' is meant to be!
A picture is worth a thousand words - Only one is needed - LOVE!
So, when you see posts like this -it’s probably Jessica or me! And NOT
Jerry’s feminine side shining through on FB! LOL
He has shared with me, a few of his friends have noticed!
IF it keeps Jerry doing what he does best - I’m happy to help!
He keeps inspiring me to draw Laughing Buddha & more!

Jerry has a  new website  - as soon as that happens I'll share!
Keep creative! Look where it can get you!!
Tomorrow  a  new cannabis cartoon, the ink is drying.
Thursday  - another ‘glass guy’’ I’m sweet on! LOL
- I think it’s his ‘PIN side’ that has me!

Laughing Buddha  by 4 artists!

20/8/2013

Picture
PictureZen Kitty Murrine By Steve Bo
Just before the last TY Expo I was contacted by a friend David, asking if I’d consider making Laughing Buddha into  glass art?  One thing led to another, and two incredibly talented glass artists made a couple of my characters out of GLASS!  It’s is officially called a Murrine: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murrine

Below are a few photos of Laughing Buddha actually being made.  I look at things all the time and often I think, I can do that! I look at how these talented artists make these little works of art and I am BLOWN away! I think ‘How in the heck do they do that’? I have looked at my Laughing Buddha murrine and then the drawing and think HOW the heck does he even figure out HOW to do that!? Patience for sure.

I nearly lost them at the EXO and once home, every time I showed someone I  was putting them someplace and did not know how to display them... time to bring in an expert.
I put all call into Kat @ Kats Gallery (ON FB) and simply said (more or less) I’m making a special Laughing Buddha and this is what I want.. blah blah blah. Do your thing.

I believe everyone is an artist in many ways. Kat is an artist when it comes to framing and creativity. Not only did she clearly put thought into it but to place the pieces on silk flowers! It just blends beautifully! Storm commented - “what... awesome, are those the only real flowers”  - it really makes you take a closer look at the entire piece.  It just is beautiful if I do say so myself! I also asked her to keep FUN!  She has known me for almost 30 years  so I knew I did not have to worry.  I’d rather someone else take it over. I do want to add  I have another framer as well, and over the years - when I need something framed  and ‘need a mans opinion’  or the drawing for a man,  I use my friend Bob Doyling (also on FB & a very talented photographer!)  Both artist in their own right, and as different as acrylic and water color! Variety is the spice of life!

This laughing Buddha speaks for itself. It is a 4 artist combination! Including Kat.
It IMO is the perfect way to display my one of a kind prize possessions ;-)
Now everyone can see them, not touch, drop or lose them!  It hangs in my kitchen and so far not one person has walked past without commenting!

Another Idea I had (after) was to have the glass and then have me and the artist in a photo cut into the matt above! NEXT year! The artists that made my Murrine are: Jerry Kelly, he made Laughing Buddha and is in the photos below and the Zen Kitty creator is  Stephen Boehme! They are both on FB and both doing some incredible work.

Sorry, It is nor will it ever be for sale. I was so honored by the gentlemen that made these you have no idea. Flattered, honored and humbled! LOL
Do you have any creative way to display your Murrine?

My Laughing Buddha Murrine  & Zen Kitty may be purchased through Murrine Scene
You can find them on FB or @: https://www.facebook.com/murrine.scene?fref=ts
