2017! I’t’s  days away from a  new year! 
2016 was I believe a good year for Cannabis - As in ending the insanity and sending less humans to prison/court for it!  More states in the USA became legal, recreational (i think they like to call it ‘Adult’) and more medical, more lives helped.  Advances are being made, although the DEA still wants some way to convict and control.  I think this will always be the case, and IF you are doing something you should not- then you have to prepare for the possibility of still being prosecuted and going to jail.

What can I say? I don't agree with the ‘drug war’ at all, anymore.  I am just stating what I see & read happening.  We all understand BIG pharma will also want a piece of the Cannapie, still less will be in jail because of cannabis!  Fewer minor possession charges, and in Canada- wow- legalization in 2017 - fewer lives ruined for possession & growing. Everyone eventually able to grow 4 plants- I hope they do, it is such a beautiful plant!  
You then will also see fresh cannabis appearing  at the super market- for those that wish to juice and add some peppery bud to a  fresh salad! It will be all the rage!  Nom Nom Nom!  The times are changing. Thank God

Fellow Canadians, please let us not forget how terrible it was under Stephen Harper, the constant harassment, serious insults and more.  Patients never knowing which way to go- PRIVATE classified information being given out for everyone to see & note.  THREATENING Canadians (patients, many very sick & terminally ill)  to destroy OUR medicine in with ‘kitty litter’ - or we would be persecuted - raided by the police- shoot our dogs?  YES, a reality for some. 
I felt an incredible weight lifted off my heart when Justing became prime Minister.  Breath. 
It takes time, he said he would. He will.  A new era has arrived in Canada - a healthier one IMO. 

2016 brought positive change for cannabis but some countries are still struggling.  
We can not make them change their minds but we can educate by example.  
Less Alcohol, lower addiction rates for tobacco as well- If you believe what you read. Research it.  People are puffing more bud, with far less harmful results- as for brain damage- long term- careful- if that were the case we would see it amongst all those that did ‘inhale- back in the day, and pretty much calling the shots NOW.  
& More revenue going to go to our schools, hospitals and cities & towns etc. because of CANNABIS. I seriously hope the Indian reserves in Canada are researching growing as well. 

I just bought a tube of ‘Brilliant green’ gouache, for more Brilliant Bud painting!
Now, it’s a few days of painting & praying for me.. no social media.

More research is needed.. Please, every time I hear this my eyes roll.
Yes, I agree research is needed and  let's see what plants may be used to help whom..
Using  the term as an excuse is another story.
Research? Lets start with this:
Read this interesting article about a cannabis plant that was recently discovered.
"Archaeologists are hailing the discovery of an "extraordinary cache" of cannabis found in an ancient burial in northwest China, saying that the unique find adds considerably to our understanding of how ancient Eurasian cultures used the plant for ritual and medicinal purposes."  
It dates back as long as some refuse to acknowledge. 

No one has ever been documented of dying from cannabis alone, in history.
Compare that with the number of alcohol related deaths..  are you?  
Think about it.
NOW before one more kid dies.. before one more kid is arrested.

OBVIOUSLY DRUGS ARE NOT TESTED  the amount of time cannabis has been documented with the number of related deaths that continually happen throughout history with man made medications. Lets start this 'research' with Fentanyl.

It is insanity & it is ALL  because of CONTROL.. controlling people.
Punishing people for what they enjoy.
Jail =control & $$$.
& now drug manufacturing. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Its on the way. Its happening so be it.
Hopefully it will done with with thoughts for others in some way..

STOP arresting over personal cannabis consumption & growing.
It's not easy, most people won't dedicate the time or money & would rather go to an easier safe source. Make it affordable. 
Make it available to those who need it like young patients with seizures.
Educate about it. It's just a plant.  A magnificent plant!!

Medical patients in Canada who use cannabis can now grow their own. Amen.
The court case proved it is not right to force people to  have to use a 'Legal Gov. approved growers', but they can grow their own or  if not well enough have a 'designated grower '- do it for them:

Thank God. How insane was it to tell  anyone they can't grow plants that help them heal in the first place.  A crime against humanity, now changed here in Canada!  I feel very fucking proud of my country right now. VERY ILL Children all over Canada - will now be introduced more to the medicine they need.  Would you not try a natural herb before a synthetic drug for your child? IF PROVEN to help?  Google: Dr. Gupta Weed.... if you still doubt.

I'm not even sure what to draw yet!  Next cannabis will become a legal recreational drug, good - it will mean fewer alcohol related deaths! I know you probably don't believe that.. I've been reading about it the past few years. Don't believe me? Research it.  I Laughed Out Loud yesterday sitting the Dr.s office, across the T.V. screen - 'Ottawa warns of possible increase in impaired driving if cannabis is legalized' - (something like that).  Of course. Bring on the fear mongering!  Do you really think that there have been that FEW  cannabis smoking drivers over the years/decades that it has not become and  issue? LOL!  It's not.

I had a great lunch with my moms friend Geoff yesterday, he took me to an "Irish pub", he confused my love of  Scottish with Irish.. I'll forgive him. We chuckled, chatted and enjoyed a steak & mushroom pie, talked about going back to school late in life (which he did & was very successful at), why he got into politics- someone said to him, "your opinion doesn't matter- you're not even Canadian...", he quickly became one shortly there after.  Cannabis,  he is a cigarette smoker and I suggested he switch to cannabis! It's less harmful and apparently from all I've been reading - less addictive- so you smoke less. He told me he would think it over.  ;) 

Then I was at the Dr.s, we both laughed out loud at the fact that  he could help me with my foot pain!!  He is  frustrated they can't seem to help me otherwise.. especially since I'm not  for pills or surgery, again. He remarked, he's never seen anyone with a case like mine, so severe and does not know how I'm coping.. me either. Cannabis.   We talked about much, how this illness has also given me a new found strength, the fights I've won with it, MC, The bank, anyone re: Poppy now.. and then he said while freezing the bottom of my foot:
& Cannanbis! You have won that fight too!  I don't personally feel like I had any part in the winning.  I prayed our stories of Storms and my own experience we shared have been heard, that was all.   ***For all sick Canadians, already dealing with so much including judgement - constantly for those who DO NOT UNDERSTAND.  One less fuckign thing to worry about. Affordable medicine, loving grown at home.

It comes with rules, as it should.. I know some will think 'I'm gonna grow!'  lol- good luck, Its not that easy and they will have 'regulations' not to mention  hard work, I know a few growers and they can be very stressed at times, not form politics - from work. it has toby safe, I'd be a hypocrite if I didn't  talk about that.  it doesn't matter really - people are never going to stop growing illegal cannabis- at least now patients who truly need it have the option. AT least NOW maybe the police will focus on other more important crimes like the missing indian woman in Canada! HUMAN trafficking.  What matters most. HUMANS.

I AM very upset still they are saying "compassion clubs' 'dispensaries' NOW, don't matter'  now that they have the legally approved Licensed producers.... and that they are considering the possibility of selling it via the pharmacy- WE ALL knew that was coming! $$$$$$$  
If not for  compassion clubs we wold have been lost. I will tell you first hand,  many I know are not the criminals  they are being made out to be - but people who truly want to help  others.  Our government is out to make money like everyone else. Greed rules.  
The L.C.B.O. is starting 'mail home' delivery.. wow.  I wonder how that will effect alcohol abuse in his country- well, I don't wonder. I know.  

Time to think of what to draw to celebrate!

Well, it's one thing to have people send you photos of your post card or original art that they have had frames .. its another thing when you see a BUS  - Not just any bus - but the Cannabus over in Scotland - completely  decorated with GeorgiaToons art work!  WOW!
I saw the photos yesterday morning when I logged onto my 'other page'- the one that still allows me to socialize and see posts from a few of my friends.  I knew the bus was coming along- I've been watching from the start - I had no idea it would be decorated with my art work.  I keep thinking of the many people that will see this bus- If I know Robert- that will be many. lol - He's a bit of a social butterfly - that guy- and we have never met in person,  but he has a piece of my heart, and knows it.  Robert also is well aware of cannabis - in every aspect - and is as passionate about it for a medicine for Children as I am. 

A cannabus - I wish my bags were packed and ready to board the bus! I wonder if Poppy can gather overseas papers in record time- i wonder how that does work.  lol
It's a seed I've planted in my own mind &  we will see how it grows.  For now I will live vicariously through my friend Robert- if he allows :) and travel with him on that bus  with my art  - that is the most amazing start!  Yes, when I saw the photos, I blushed!  Storm shakes his head- 'Why does stuff continually surprise you like that mom? Your work means much to many."   

My work has only ever meant most to me- when it has helped our son. 
The impact it appears to have made on others was all an added blessing I never expected.
I feel incredibly emotional over a bus today ;) who knew.

It's Christmas Time, as you  might be aware a couple of years ago I asked for help and got it.
It is a nice change & challenge to draw what someone else has wrote. In this case what fun! BTW - I LOVE Gumby, lol - this was like drawing 7 Gumbys for me. I also really enjoy GINGER bread! Norm makes it for me all the time. This weekend! I get to decorate ;)

A Christmas cartoon Collaboration! Inspired by my glass guys - and the collaborations I see they come up with - WOW! Hee hee I started asking is anyone wanted to collaborate with me. The response has been awesome. 
While checking out FB, I came across Kevins page, because he commented - it allows me to be able to go 'see' people page.  Then I have to use my alias - because my 'GeorgiaToons'  account does not let me interact with people UNLESS they message me first. I saw he posted some 'poems' - I liked them. Simple. So I asked.
He was thrilled! ;) me too! lol - and he came up with these in a heart beat! - I look forward to working with Kevin a bit more this year, Ive asked him to  think about addressing other topics with me.
Later... when I actually had more time, I checked out his page to learn he is a stay at home father of two boys!  Wonderful! *If I had to do it all over - & with what is available on the internet- I would have gone this route with Storm.

The second cartoon is just as cute in my opinion, but takes place with elves in the Workshop!  WI can't wait to start to draw! A few other cartoons on my desk at the moment

The ruling is in & The Supreme Court of Canada has ruled that it is unconstitutional to force Canadians to ONLY smoke their medicine. 
Read More here: http://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/medical-marijuana-legal-in-all-forms-supreme-court-rules-1.3109148   It is now legal for  legal patients of cannabis as their medicine to use and have with them edibles/medibles:  Items that can be eaten with cannabis in them = cookies, brownies, tootsie rolls and teas to name ONLY a FEW.  How I first preferred Storm to medicate - especially when at school, for several reasons * all of which have been covered in this blog over the years - lol  So - to me  it was an obvious decision. medicine that tastes good- Rona Ambrose  Our Minister Health - here in Canada "is OUTRAGED!" Which has me shaking my head for several reasons. 
Outraged? Really and to whom does she direct this rage? Canadians that she is  supposedly to be concerned of our health and welfare, safety?  
WHO is she to feel or direct rage at anyone - including a judge of the Supreme Court of Canada?  A unanimous decision. Had the decision went in the other direction - Rona would EXPECT us to show only respect for such a judges decision! Wouldn't she?  
This woman represents Canada and ALL the Canadian people, No? 
Not just the 'conservative ones'? Am I wrong?  Please correct me if i am.

Not just this decision but the Canadian people - becoming more aware - are opting for legalization/decriminalization-  and we should be - what ever it takes to stop sending out people to jail! These ARE not hard core criminals I am referring to, they ARE non- violent offenders.  Growing a plant, smoking a plant - if for medicinal or recreational use should not be putting people in prison! 

I was angry yesterday. I purposely posted - so I would not post until today - after I had time to process. Process before Posting. < lol I'll try to listen to that more often. Rona is most concerned about the children - then do the right thing and EDUCATE them - on all drugs. NOT fear MONGER. What government rules  by fear - a weak one and that is what is happening - it's nothing but fear mongering lately. ;(  I'm not afraid.   I told Marie this case would be won weeks ago. 

I believe we (Canadians as ONE)  won't HURT our children and we have proven it by making sure edibles are available!!! 
Cookies and brownies for our babies! WHY NOT!?
If they are ill enough for cannabis - let them enjoy every BITE.  
PLEASE remember - Our son Storm was in fact, diagnosed by 'two teams' of Dr.s,  one at the hospital for sick children and then again in Montreal at the shriners hospital - IT was only after years of watching our child suffer that we chose cannabis as an option. Thank God it WAS available.
I am NOT telling any parent to make this decision on their own. I AM begging EVERY parent - IF your child is ill - do your research about Cannabis and make it one of your first choices! It IS one of the safest, compared to our other options available.  

Rona is worried about the children...  Rona, what about he thousands of children who are being HELPED by cannabis, do our children not matter?  
Are we expected to believe that Rona Ambrose - Health Minister of Canada,  mother, < (just a word), professional - who is well aware of Cannabis in Canada - a mistake in HER mind made over 10 years ago - is NOT aware of what cannabis is doing to help save people around the world? Doe she not have cable ? lol 
Does she not ever watch the news or read the paper?  Let me guess,  or in a few months will she be Canada's Dr. Gupta and tell us "I was wrong about Cannabis"  we'll all be expected to 'forgive' her and move on.  

The stress added to sick individuals in this country over cannabis - a plant, is the only real crime being committed. Rona Amrose - our Minister of Health (oxymoron) 
the outrage you feel is simply a reflection of what you have provided to so many others.  

The next court case will be for Canadians who were granted permission to grow their own medicine - will be permitted to continue to do so.  I have no fear regarding this case,  it too will be won.  Why?  It is wrong.
I no longer have faith in our Government to look out for our welfare - I do have faith in each other.

I started the day - what else, reading...
It took me a while, my mind is racing a million places.  If only it had a passport - imagine how cool the 'stamps' would be ;)  
Anyway - the first line was: 
In quietness things are answered, and every problem quietly resolved.

I resolve to not speak. 

So whats the first thing that happens - I get a request to 'Skype'. lol   I checked it worked with my friend Marc. ;) It was so nice talking to him. I didn't even have a question and he helped me anyhow1 LOL  Then I spoke with a new friend across the world.
Soon - I return to the dentist! 
I finally got past my fear and went and had a somewhat, o.k. time, lol, it went better than expected and I have to return. The woman who cleaned my teeth was very nice, relaxing and a Documentary fan like myself of that was very cool! I recommended a few. 
 - well I was not enjoying speaking for a couple of days.  Norm on the other hand..   lol 
But this is the plan starting tomorrow , it is what it is ;) Quiet is always nice, and we can easily keep ourselves amused in this home - Norm renovating, me drawing. Sometimes Norm renovates in his mind, on the sofa.. watching MAcGiver. Hee hee hee
I draw and I have drawing to do. I am pleased with my new LB full of TLC. Not to be rushed.

Funny, one thing I'm 'not' worried 'about', the edibles case.
What judge would rule out edibles. We already won once- it's HC that has us in court again at your tax $.  Come on? Think of the children is exactly right.  The seriously ill children.. edibles is a nice way to take your medicine. ALSO the many adults that can't take pills and I'm one of them. I was speaking with a person who takes crazy stuff for her pain- and it's not working!! So what take it? Rot your insides out and suffer. She can't even think of cannabis due tot he amount of pain killers she is on.
Lets face it - IF a pharmaceutical company would have come up with a tasty cookie or  anything like the things I have already tried, many made in kitchens, like mine and yours - that already it would have been done. 
Powdered alcohol was approved. I already drew about it.
Please. How mixed up is that?


Quietly thinking about many things, asking God for assistance for each and every one, and then knowing he has done exactly that, I will continue to draw & Dream. 
Until it warms up - we continue to enjoy a sunny day. Inside.

A judge has ruled it is  unconstitutional to not allow edibles! 
Medibles! What ever you call them.  Cannabis infused products.
Medicated products that you eat - rather than smoke cannabis!!!

NO KIDDING! It astounded me when this case started! Really? 
No baked edibles permitted? No cookies or  brownies?

As a mother  who’s son was 14 when he first used cannabis for pain - I baked him cookies to take to school! I baked him banana bread when he was not feeling well enough to smoke. I make him medicated Toffee for the winter months!  I have super healthy date balls in the fridge that are medicated, ‘CannaTootsie’ rolls are a favorite, we have medicate cocnut oil for me, a personal favorite. I put it in my tea.

How insane that we were expected to only SMOKE it. I do smoke it still - It brings me the quickest from of instant relief.  To sleep or a busy day planned with a lot of walking, standing, medibles are a great way to keep it in your system, much like pills do I guess.
I would not have made it Saturday at the ‘Perch fest’ without my medicated capsules in the a.m. and a few tokes throughout the day.  Thank God.

It was a given! I was so happy!!!!! AM so happy! How wonderful! 
Moms can make their  severely ill children brownies, cookies - instead of fighting and forcing them - already enduring enough- to take a crappy medicine they don’t like! 
Been there! Done that!!! I know.
WE even get to throw in lots of other great ingredients! 
My banana bread is very healthy! 

So celebrate! It’s a step in the right direction!!!

Divided we fall...

It’s hard to comprehend somedays to an outsider what it happening in the United States regarding Cannabis laws. I don’t understand how a country called the UNITED states of America can be so ‘UN-united’.   It is one thing to be fighting for the same rights across Canada - from Coast to Coast we continue  to fight for our rights to grow our own medicine and legalization.  

Imagine being a mother in the united states when  your child is suffering, dying from illness you know Cannabis can help - and only a drive away, a state away, the medicine, possibly even the CURE, is readily available IN your country - for others. If you live in a state not yet legal, you are out of luck.
It must be frustrating on an entirely new level, I am grateful I cannot comprehend.

When I hear other advocates discussing with parents of ill children “Move to Colorado!” - it grates my nerves.  
You have no idea the stress parents are already under, illness, hospital bills, family stress,  job security, bills - it’s endless.
Then to have to pick it all up and move away from your support groups, ADD new stress on top of it regarding living situations, schooling,  leave your family & friends - JUST so your child can access Cannabis. A right that should be provided to every child in need. 
I don’t understand.  Do not get me wrong - if my child was sick - my bags would be packed!    ...Why should they?

I can image many Americans understand even less, especially the ones that are suffering, are incarcerated, lost their family and jobs for simple possession charges a state over from one that is legal. 
Recently, a young man was arrested in Texas and  possibly sentenced from 5 years to life. ‘FOR Brownies.’  A substance never proven to kill anyone - could you imagine - IF the pharmaceutical companies were held accountable and charged with each death?  
Jail for BROWNIES!? 
When cousin Jim is baking and selling  legal brownies only a coupe of states over? 
What does U stand for in the U.S.A, Eh?

Before you tell someone to pack up their bags, understand what they are dealing with and why not help them explore other options and rights. Get media attention  and community support (if time allows) IF parents must leave, have family and friends fight to bring them home and EDUCATE others on Cannabis! If you really want to help.

I watched a documentary called  A Place at the table. What a rude awakening, on several topics.  Obesity, Starving children's brains, & the ridiculous amount some have to go to just to give their children a healthy meal! CRIMINAL.  Watch it. It's a heck of a lot more import than Honey BooBoo.  Kids don't have a chance. ;(  UNLESS we demand changes!! 
It is an American Documentary but if you think it is not starting to happen here think again and take a good look at your surroundings. 
It inspired me to plant our garden, I planted extra for friends, neighbors and the food bank - if we am blessed with  good crop.
It was a great day to be in the garden with my girls!  I felt wonderful,  I even baked a apple berry pie! Woot! Woot! 

BTW, I use fresh fruit- apples, strawberries, blueberries and raspberries! About 1/2 cup organic sugar/brown. THAT's all. Stir & place in homemade pie crust ;) 
Bake at 350 for 40 mins.
Not too much sugar and 'these two' never complain!

I am not a real fan of ice cream but my guys are ;).  I only USE real Vanilla when I bake, I can't figure out why they don't! Don't tell me its cheaper than  - putting the beaver to sleep so it can be milked!??? Ewwwwwwwwwww   REALLY!?  Think of it, they have to cage the beaves, feed the beavers, look after them, put them to sleep to squeeze them...

I can't help but sit here between twitches - some so painful  I can't thinks straight while they are going on.  No one seems to be able to tell me why or how to stop it. 
3 Neurologists and a not completely successful surgery... was it pills?  I was prescribed the above drug  "it was to give a medication I was on a boost".  
I've had people say to me "SUE!",  I am too busy living and trying to function to sue. 
THAT is another terrible side effect. How many people are just too sick and tired? 
Too many.  

We have to pick our battles and I'm pretty sure mine is evident to all who know me! 
 I battle for my son's medicine. The love of my life's - Quality of life giving medicine!

I am confident with each passing day  and continued education that the times are changing! Harper - when you start arresting the sick for something Health Canada allowed for years... Tomorow's Blog Radio Interview.

It's back to nature. For us anyhow. More fresh veges, reading labels and focusing on what goes in  before it comes out, in one way or another. If it can be stored in a box for 6 months we don't want it.  Originally, I saw a post with a photo of a horse, it instantly made me smile. this is my version. 

Is there anyone who claims not to know the benefits of choosing a salad over a cheese burger? Choice. What we put into out bodies. Food and medicine.
 The choice should always be OUR own.

Now that’s an edible!

I  draw for many people, a few bakers the past few years - so I have tried my share of baked goods.  I am also in a situation where I have met many people who bake medibles. and I am even sent some in the mail and have to say there have been times where I do not eat or use the edibles that have been sent. I have even tossed several.

 Why?   I have no clue about who made them or how they were made, they can taste a little “off” or I can taste the cannabis... and like everything else lately I try to know what I put in my body - including GMO’s  so why should cannabis be any different?  

Unless I bake it in my own kitchen - I like to know what’s in it. ESPECIALLY with medicine. 

BUT I never know what to say to people. IF they ask. ”Did you like it”?  
 I always give my honest opinion and it might not be great, but I do it in hopes that they can make themselves better, not to drag someone down.  This is a competitive market like EVERY thing else so, step it up or move over.

Here is what I CAN SAY... This is how you do it! IMO

I have had medibles from a few clubs and made such suggestions and then just watch.. some will and some won’t and those that don’t IMO will soon be out of business. 
Many patients do want some sort of clarity on what we are taking. We also want it to taste good! If a compassion club can't offer you an assortment  - then look for another compassion club. I think sooner or alter they all have to set certain standards.
IF you bake for a compassion club PLEASE  TAKE it up a notch!  

This is clear and professional and I was happy to sample. I have mentioned  this compassion club before because I know the quality of the baked good and yes I will say they are one of the best I have met. Why wouldn’t I - It is part of the confusion - anyway that I can help make it easier and eliminate any stress anyone is dealing with - been there done that!  You will fin a brochure from them in my special EXPO bag and a few other clubs I like and have had the pleasure of dealing with. (more on the bags soon)

If you currently use a club that does NOT present medibles like this - make the suggestion. Part of the problem is the sneakiness still associated with silly habits,  
food should be marked clearly for several reasons including allergies. 
Take the time.. add the detail of TLC - your patients will thank you for it.

"Where's the scale?"  
 My son asked...  “...skelator”  as he loving calls me, reminding me I need to eat. ;-)

I threw it out... I've stressed over that piece of *&^% for far too long in this life time! Before I was always on it, and all it did was go up!  Every morning I’d get on ... weighing myself, worried about the size of ‘my ass & gutt’ both of which I hated for years. O.K., I will say looking back... I was too heavy. I was usually around 180 - 210,  I’m 5’6”.  I see photos of myself and think - OMG!? WAS I that big?  I did not think I was that big, when I was there. 

Then, I was on it all the time lately with the opposite! Every morning stressing over weight I lost!  WTF!   LOL

When I get to 115 I panic.  I know I look too thin, I’m use to voluptuous.. I had curves.  ;-) So I thought, forget this! I tossed it! “Chucked it!”  (Thank you Candice, a post she made on FB, a while back).  

All kidding aside, I hate a bony ass! Poor Santa - I get it! ;-)  I feel my bones when I sit on a hard surface. I miss my bum!  The thing is I want to get healthy. So I am eating BETTER  (JUST say NO to GMO!)  and can’t seem to gain weight but I feel better! ;-)) So today I made Kale chips - I tell you I was thinking, I’m more addicted to these kale chips than cannabis! My friend Theresa introduced them to me. I don’t have a dehydrator so I make them in the over and it is a bit of work as I have to keep going and turning them. But it is worth it in IMO.

I also have to say, I was sent a beautiful gift, more than the person realizes I bet. Honey.  Medicated honey, from a friend I don’t take medibles from people I do not know. I have the best appetite with it! So does Storm!  
You know it’s not true! You don’t always get the munchies - I think that it’s a frame of mind. If you naturally always get the munchies that will only heighten it. 

I have eaten more in the past few day in a long time and I am craving all the good stuff ;-) Like Kale chips and nuts.  
Oh, I also made - homemade ‘almond joy’ today! I saw on PIN.

I do them in my oven at 150 and go down every hour and turn them when they start to crisp up I eat! LOL - They have trouble making it to a bowl! Really!  TRY them!! 

Either way - Glad I chucked that metal menace! It ruled for far too long! I shall let my body be my guide and love me how I am. Every inch! I hope to get my bum back too.. well at least 1/2 of it’s former glory. LOL   <>< xox 

I met William on Fb  a long time ago... I don't know who became who's (WHOM?)  friend, but I can tell you I have grown fond of him. I knew him before Ryuu ;-)  He makes me laugh. I'm not always sure why. I find him honest and upfront.
He has had me slightly 'ticked' to put it nicely, a few times! Once about breast feeding.  He gets me thinking.  I like his wife and I have never even seen her, usually only what banter William decides to share.  I think he is one of my favorite dads. It has been interesting for me watching and seeing the posts of a stay at home dad.... anyhow I am thankful for meeting them and look forward to watching the family grow

It Has Been A Year and My Baby Is Not Even Broken.

On April 17th Ryuu Dio Steele will be turning over his first leaf. My child will be one years old. It will be a joyful day filled with all kinds of grilled meats and cakes. Let us also not forget it will be a day of swollen egos. You see I suffered through many “talks” being told too many times on how I am one of those who will never really understand what it is like to truly raise an offspring just because, you know, I have male parts. Because of all those little talks I am overly ecstatic to be here with my testosterone filled battle cry “the babe lives! Ye woman folk can move along now RawR!”

As my baby boy’s birthday nears I find myself looking back at all the little “talks” I had gotten from parents-in-the-know. Some ranged from what brands of diapers to get while others explained how colors of cups will dictate my child’s sexual preference. Some I listened to most I ignored and in the end other than a few scrapes I have made it through the first year with an intact child. You may applaud now as I take a bow. Thank you! Thank you!

Before I get feedback of “well you had it easy your wife worked and did chores” I would like to bring up during my first year as the main caregiver I was going through some drama of my own. Short version of a long story: A few months before my son’s birth my mother dies in front of me. Being a huge momma’s boy I really miss my mother. It’s funny. I can’t touch bacon anymore because I can still taste it from when I was doing CPR on her on a morning a few days before my birthday. Now no dwelling let us move on to a month before my son’s birth my house was invaded by 20 or so combat ready individuals because a friend decided to make a snitch’s paycheck. He knew being the cannabis activist that I am I would most likely have a few cannabis plants here and there plus he knew just what to say to get me to hand one over. Thirty two years old never been arrested the first time a cannabis plant leaves my home a friend gives me up for some drug money. Isn’t that just funny let me tell you once I realized who had snitched me out my cell mates all looked at me a little worried as I laughed so hard I could not breath. Oh ya before I forget about how I also was stuck playing nice to my father’s other family as she moves into my mother’s house and drives my mother’s car. No comment move along nothing more to see here. Now throw in general bad luck stuff like how I threw my back out getting out of bed when my wife’s water broke and that pretty much sums up the disadvantage parts going on during the first year or so.

I do not bring up these woeful times to glum your day I bring it up to show off my brilliance as a stay at home parent. During this time when it would have been understandable to just shut down I put on a smile, did a little laugh, and pulled up my big boy pants so I could play the role that was set before me.

And these are a few random things I’ve learned. Over these past months.

Changing Diapers Suck! And I still have not decided yet what is worse: breathing through my nose or through my mouth. Tough call do I just want to smell it or smell it and taste it in theory if I breathe through my mouth. Even if you try to go all rodeo and get it done at record speed it still sucks. As soon as the rugrat was able to sit up on his own bathroom training began. It has been a long slow road but the outcome will be its weight in gold.

This bit of advice I will have to give credit to mother’s worldwide. “When the baby sleeps you sleep!” That is such a golden rule it would be wise to burn it in to your memory if you’re a first time parent.

It does not matter what color, cloths, or if I love hello kitty my child has an even chance of becoming straight, gay, or cross gender. It irks me to no ends when a parent-in-the-know tries to push the idealism that he must conform. I have no time for this foolishness because in the end it is not the neon pink and purple sippy cup that could make him gay. Pretty sure it would be the interest in other males he develops on his own time through his own experiences that does it.

The day will come when he finds some one he wants to share his love with and it will be a happy day that’s all I know. The idea where the option of shaming him to change to the “norm” causing confusion and self loathing that can very well drive him out of our lives or worst lead to one day where we find him hanging in his own closet is just unheard of in this house hold. The king of the castle has spoken so be it ordered.

Anyone can learn a lot by listening to the advice from another. But there was this one statement that I would hear every now and then that would just drive me right up the wall. “He is too young for that.” Well of course he is too young to understand physicist Brian Cox talking about whatever he seems to be excited about that day. I don’t expect him to. Nor do I feel my baby has to be able to grasp all of the sign language we practice throughout the week. The goal is to lay down the tracks for when he is at the point where he should be able to understand it. It’s a pity that so many parents will limit their child just because they are too young. 4 months into Ryuu’s life he was responding to me with simple nods and crude signs of yes or no. Once we had this crude way of communicating I knew right then age limit is just a limit of the mind. I still believe in this theory as I practice math on chalk boards with Ryuu sitting on my shoulders.

On a side note when Ryuu learned that if he signed “up” he will get thrown into the air great for him but for me I ended up doing reps of thirty lifts a day as he grew heavier. But as time went on we started to branch out into other feats of daring acrobatics like now of days he is practicing how to stand on my shoulders as I walk around. We have so much fun that all started with the American Sign Language sign for “up”.

Yes I have a child, yes I am worried about going to prison, no I will not stop being an open cannabis activist. As of a few weeks ago we have decided to up my game and try my hand with politics at a local level. The idea of leaving these unjust cannabis prohibition laws where they are scares me more than prison. The idea that my child might have to go through an arrest like I had experienced sends chills down my spine that fuels an anger inside of me.

No one has ever died from an overdose of cannabis and it’s a plant with thousands of uses. With hard work I’ll be able to show my child that if the people stand up against unjust practices they can be stopped. This will be one of the most important lessons I teach my child I believe.

To leave you hungry for more I will brush up on the topic of food. Most understand it as one must eat to live but around here it is live to eat. My fear from all of the “talks” was I would be doomed to serving nothing but chicken nuggets and hotdogs. As a hobby chef and a cookbook author I was terrified let me tell you. I am just that skilled or I must have lucked out. No lie I have a little food disposal unit. It does not matter, veggies, seafood, sweets, meats, he is willing to eat it as long as it is offered to him. The fact that he was willing to eat anything opened the doors for so many healthy dishes without much fuss but plenty of adorable messes.

Seeing that rugrat gobbling up a simple chicken stir fry with a huge grin and smacking those lips is one of my favorite feelings. The simple joy of knowing I won’t ever need to offer Ryuu over processed foods just so he will eat is the greatest. One of my favorite cooking tips is to add hemp seeds to your meals. Those little seeds are packed full with so much healthy goodness its foolish not to add them.

Rugrat Approved Chicken Stir Fry
Can server 2 adults 1 child
1 pound of thinly sliced chicken breast or 2 deboned chicken thighs thinly sliced up
½ a cup of chopped onion
4 crushed and diced garlic cloves
Pinch of red pepper
1 table spoon of hemp seeds
½ a cup of sliced mushrooms
½ a cup of sliced bell peppers
½ a cup of (veggie of choice)
Splash of cooking oil
Soy sauce to taste (I usually use about 1/3 cup of soy sauce)
1-2 teaspoon of honey (optional)
1teaspoon of corn starch dissolved in a little water (if you want a thick sauce)

Let us start by pre heating the oil in a large wok or frying pan over a med high heat. To this we need to add the garlic giving it enough time to release its flavor without burning.

The chicken will go in next along with the soy sauce, pepper and add the honey if you want a sweet twist. Allow it to cook for about 10 minutes stirring occasionally. Now it is time for the veggies and depending on how you enjoy your vegetables depends on when to add them. I generally add them all in at the same time just allowing them to heat up throughout. I love keeping the crispiness of vegetables when I am cooking for myself but to each their own.

Once the vegetables are cooked to your liking you’re done unless you would like the sauce to be thicker. Lower the heat to a simmer then stir in the corn starch water mixture. The sauce will turn milky for a minute but will clear up as it mixes in so don’t panic. Allow it to simmer allowing the sauce time to thicken up to almost a syrup texture.
Serve on top of rice and Enjoy!

I was asked recently do draw for The WorldWide Cannabis Tribe - of which I am proud to say I am a member!  I loved drawing this cartoon for several reasons. I had complete freedom. The owner asked that I do what ever I wanted with the paragraph he provided. 
The Hemp leaf turned into hemp twine keeping us all connected. Medically, recreationally for religious reasons - what ever the reason,  Cannabis is widely used all around the world and I agree- not until we all stand up and ask, express & in some cases even demand the right to use this healing herb. 
This toon is now on it's way to Scotland! My toons travel more than I do! LOL 
I am honored to say the least that this toon will be displayed in another part of the world. Planting the seed of Cannabis education all around the world! 
I feel blessed! 
Now back to plastering my honey's prop for the front lawn! Then perhaps I can sneak in a drawing today or two!

I hear this time and time again at the EXPO. Not me personally - but others telling me that they deal with this all the time. WHAT does sick look like? Can you see Cancer? Can you tell when someone is dying from a terminal illness? In many cases NO- So stop making Assumptions people!  Thank God,  everyone who is sick does NOT look sick - that is an entirely new issue to deal with -TRUST ME on that - I know!   My son does not look sick.  He does wear hearing aids and glasses but other than that he looks good! Several times he has had strangers  comment - WHAT the heck !? Is there not more serious issues to deal with? Why must someone LOOK sick to justify the use of Cannabis as a medicine?! 
If no one ever smoked it and only used "medibles" -medicated - baked goods, these comments would probably stop.  Smoking is the fasted way to medicate and I don't know about you but when in pain - I want it treated as quickly as possible. WHO does not?  It was one of the biggest problems for my son when he was little - by the time he asked for medicine - (codine for example)  the pain was so great that it took even longer to work - at the same time - if you know the side effects who wants to give a child codine ALL the time. 
 I am So happy my handsome son does NOT look sick.
I on the other hand have been dealing with a very 'visual' problem and get the opposite! Especially from those close to me - I have lost a lot of weight and have a very painful 'Twitch", Luckily my Dr., is able to somewhat control the twitch (contractions) with Botox for the time being - but as you can see in the Video below - it is obvious I am dealing with something. I've had people look at me and comment on my appearance for the past 3 years! 
"Did you have a stroke?"  "OMG are you O.k.?"  "You look terrible!"  "You better not lose anymore weight!"  AND I MUST say - That ON TOP of dealing with  actually NOT feeling great is even harder. It is depressing! I can't smile like I use to - I look like a mad woman sometimes - I use to be a bit of a hottie. Yet I don't feel that anymore when I look in the mirror.  ;-(
So MIND your business!!!
What does it matter to you? 
People if you use Cannabis to medicate, lucky if you have a Dr. that cares and has prescribed Cannabis -- - don't justify yourself - forgive the ignorance and look past the reefer madness! If you don't look sick than thank God -*Buddha,  Jehovah, Yoda- whoever you need to thank - thank them! 
Thank your lucky stars you look fine!  It is ONE less issue to deal with.
