Medical patients in Canada who use cannabis can now grow their own. Amen.
The court case proved it is not right to force people to  have to use a 'Legal Gov. approved growers', but they can grow their own or  if not well enough have a 'designated grower '- do it for them:

Thank God. How insane was it to tell  anyone they can't grow plants that help them heal in the first place.  A crime against humanity, now changed here in Canada!  I feel very fucking proud of my country right now. VERY ILL Children all over Canada - will now be introduced more to the medicine they need.  Would you not try a natural herb before a synthetic drug for your child? IF PROVEN to help?  Google: Dr. Gupta Weed.... if you still doubt.

I'm not even sure what to draw yet!  Next cannabis will become a legal recreational drug, good - it will mean fewer alcohol related deaths! I know you probably don't believe that.. I've been reading about it the past few years. Don't believe me? Research it.  I Laughed Out Loud yesterday sitting the Dr.s office, across the T.V. screen - 'Ottawa warns of possible increase in impaired driving if cannabis is legalized' - (something like that).  Of course. Bring on the fear mongering!  Do you really think that there have been that FEW  cannabis smoking drivers over the years/decades that it has not become and  issue? LOL!  It's not.

I had a great lunch with my moms friend Geoff yesterday, he took me to an "Irish pub", he confused my love of  Scottish with Irish.. I'll forgive him. We chuckled, chatted and enjoyed a steak & mushroom pie, talked about going back to school late in life (which he did & was very successful at), why he got into politics- someone said to him, "your opinion doesn't matter- you're not even Canadian...", he quickly became one shortly there after.  Cannabis,  he is a cigarette smoker and I suggested he switch to cannabis! It's less harmful and apparently from all I've been reading - less addictive- so you smoke less. He told me he would think it over.  ;) 

Then I was at the Dr.s, we both laughed out loud at the fact that  he could help me with my foot pain!!  He is  frustrated they can't seem to help me otherwise.. especially since I'm not  for pills or surgery, again. He remarked, he's never seen anyone with a case like mine, so severe and does not know how I'm coping.. me either. Cannabis.   We talked about much, how this illness has also given me a new found strength, the fights I've won with it, MC, The bank, anyone re: Poppy now.. and then he said while freezing the bottom of my foot:

You have won that fight too!  I don't personally feel like I had any part in the winning.  I prayed our stories of Storms and my own experience we shared have been heard, that was all.   ***For all sick Canadians, already dealing with so much including judgement - constantly for those who DO NOT UNDERSTAND.  One less fuckign thing to worry about. Affordable medicine, loving grown at home.

It comes with rules, as it should.. I know some will think 'I'm gonna grow!'  lol- good luck, Its not that easy and they will have 'regulations' not to mention  hard work, I know a few growers and they can be very stressed at times, not form politics - from work. it has toby safe, I'd be a hypocrite if I didn't  talk about that.  it doesn't matter really - people are never going to stop growing illegal cannabis- at least now patients who truly need it have the option. AT least NOW maybe the police will focus on other more important crimes like the missing indian woman in Canada! HUMAN trafficking.  What matters most. HUMANS.

I AM very upset still they are saying "compassion clubs' 'dispensaries' NOW, don't matter'  now that they have the legally approved Licensed producers.... and that they are considering the possibility of selling it via the pharmacy- WE ALL knew that was coming! $$$$$$$  
If not for  compassion clubs we wold have been lost. I will tell you first hand,  many I know are not the criminals  they are being made out to be - but people who truly want to help  others.  Our government is out to make money like everyone else. Greed rules.  
The L.C.B.O. is starting 'mail home' delivery.. wow.  I wonder how that will effect alcohol abuse in his country- well, I don't wonder. I know.

Where does the time go!? It is almost the end of May!  

Todays toon, my twitch is really bad at night, some nights, after 7  I hardly function, and I cannot read, it’s just too powerful and frustrating, so Norm has taken to reading to me.
I enjoy it. We enjoy it.  WELL...  not his choice of books always, not what I would choose and we are working on that! LOL 

We just finished the Planets, it was all very interesting and the book is a couple of decades old so we have talked about quite a bit... BUTT when he got the the section on Uranus - 
It just seems that everything he said sounded ‘funny.’  

I do smoke a joint at night before I sleep, Norm was cracking up as much as I was  (he does not smoke) by the end of it- my head hurt.. anyhow  two 50 = year olds, I know it is immature but - so what!  Giggle, What ever it takes.

We are now reading  world events though out history.  I get to pick the next book.

That's my girl! Daisy got her bone and Poppy said sharing, sharing, sharing! It was/is very cute to watch. Daisy is the most patient dog - well she is when it comes to Poppy. It was too funny when Poppy dragged it under the coffee table. Daisy was out of luck. 

Norm and I went out last night to pick up a few things. Walmart opened not long ago - too close for comfort. You can see it from my house, it is the quickest and easiest for Norm. 
Not being well, I have had to rely on him to go shopping and this has led to endless frustration and numerous untold arguments. 

I Am NOT a fan of their produce to begin with! I swear, buy something and almost over night it starts to shrivel in my fridge! Never buy anything in a bag, usually one or more is rotten.. it’s endless,  last night I need garlic.  

Garlic a little root plant right? That grows in the ground grown in Canada. 
Do you think I could find any? Only garlic from China - not even another option or choice - there it is!!  That is what divides Norm and I he will say “Screw it, I’m not driving all over for garlic...” and get it. I will say  “Screw it I’m not buying it!”  That is what we have to do. 

Why can't I get some F&^%$ garlic from Canada - or anything else for that matter!?
We can invent all sorts of stuff, send men to the moon but can't grow a decent tomato year round without pumping it full of S*&^?
Why are our options stuff that has come from foreign soil, foreign pests, foreign 
rules/laws/regulations for growing...  across miles in crates and trucks for days, picked too early to ripen on the way!?

I hate this time of the year for vegetable shopping and being on a limited budget  (aren’t we all) you lean towards deals instead of health! 
Less off, in the cart yesterday was MEAT.  
More spices, greens, fruit and WHOLE grain bread. No food in a box.
No Junk isle.  I am on the road to recovery and I am taking him with me like it or not. 

Don’t get me wrong - I get it! I get he’s tired, worked and then has to go get groceries and does not want to drive all over for garlic!  When does it end and when will it start to change if we don’t act every chance we get?

Please the next time you go to  the grocery store - make a point to buy Canadian.
As a matter of  fact I was so pissed that I put stuff back and that is all we bought.
Going to feasting on mushrooms and sweet potatoes for a while! LOL - Choices limited.

Thank God, Canadian have been able to produce their own HOMEGROWN Herbal medicines.  That could all change in the future. Just as it has been with Cannabis it may become illegal to grow other herbs and foods, then our limited choices even fewer and our chance to say no to GMO - out will go!  
While in Canada - for as long as it remains I prefer to support fellow Canadians and keep my greens as FRESH and HEALTHY as possible - the best way to do that:

I am drawing daily in bed, but that's as far as it goes.. I can't ink properly with a paint brush, black india INK and Daisy and Scruffy jumping on the bed to say hello! It's just not happening - I tried.
First I think it - in bed 
then I sketch it - in bed, fine toon it  (clean it up, erase. Pencil in and letter -in bed.
I've even coloured and painted in bed - not easy or worth the stress of it not being 'better' so that is it.. no more painting. I need to paint in with black ink, colour, wash, scan resize, organize and mail out and post. If I'm up for too long I am dizzy so..this is the best I can do for a few.
 It is giving/forcing me more time to read, research and as always be inspired. I've done several drawings I call 'Chances are..' If you do this Chances are..this will happen.  I never listened when anyone lectured me- but I did pay attention to cartoons... chances are it might work! ;)It might sink in! A few on the gateway theory -it continues to blow my mind people think Cannabis is a gateway drug. ONLY the un-educated on the topic - so thats's good. There is hope.  Usually with one question I can 'shut' them up - they just have to - stop and think about it for one second... and it makes COMMON sense. 
I NEED visual, they sink in faster and last longer! A picture is worth a thousand words and I enjoy that challenge. I must saw today I feel GOOD mentally!  My twitch still here but no where what it was and for the first time in a long time I no longer feel like I am dying!  YEHAW! 
Storm told me I was being selfish not seeing those who I care about and visa versa because of my face- he is right.  I can't hide. I will be very truthful and say that I know I look like I've aged 10  years in just the past year alone. I have photos to prove it- BUT I have been ill- It took me a while to get like this and it will take a me a while to get better. We are so hard on ourselves-  BEAUTY is only skin deep. We all learn this sooner or later -
some because of time, other because of illness or an operation.  So I shall embrace the new me because I am still here! That is all that matters. Below some fun on the laptop..

Today our son is 20! 20!!! Even typing it brings tears to my eyes. He is up and had his birthday breakfast and off to work! 20.
It sit here and I breath deeply and I thank God with every beat of my heart that our son is here and celebrating his 20th! I feel like a milestone has been reached! A 'magic number' if only in my mind. My son- no longer a toddler, boy, teen- he is a man. 

When you are a parent of a child with a serious illness you take nothing for granted. When you are told your child might not be with you as long as you imagine as a parent - FOREVER- It can mess with you mind to say the least. So....
Today I feel like yelling a big "FUCK YOU!!!" 
Fuck you Dr.s you were wrong!  A fuck you filled with LOVE because I am so happy they were wrong!!! 
My boy - now man is everything parent can hope for and more. He is a gentleman, handsome, polite, hard working, smart and determined to make something of his life!  It has not been easy, Storm does live with chronic pain every day - always has and always will  - he is an example to me and my husband, we would not change a single thing if we could. This lesson has been one of love that we are blessed to be a part of.  So today I am beside myself! Everyday is special but today is a day to celebrate!
 The day would not be right if I also did not say Thank You God.  I have prayed for years and will continue to do so- not for a miracle but for the continued strength we all need to face each new day. Thank God for my sons medicine - YES, I thank GOD! For the plant he put here! A medicine that helps our son function, work, hope and dream and LAUGH!  Some may still  'not get it'  I honestly HOPE you never do.  I look at the baby photos and now the young man before me and I could care less what anyone thinks. I KNOW why we do what we do. FOR LOVE.  Happy 20th Birthday Storm! MANY MANY MORE!!

Tequila Chilli'n on the sofa. She really does sit like this - just hoping someone will reach up and scratch that tummy. Daisy has her favorite spot in the back yard where she lies and throws her raccoon up into the air and Scruffy does the full body stretch, tail wiggle - 'you know you want to pat me strut!'  
Then of course there is Darkie - our kitty who is clearly the ZEN Master of the house. 
 All cats are - or can be. 
Animals remind us to live in the moment. They don't care how funny they look! If you laugh at them - they wag their tail! They don't take it personal they MAKE it personal!  I LOVE my girls they keep me in the moment and I thank God for them.  They also inspire a few toons.....   If you have a pet - give them a good scratch, cuddle and pat today! It's Canada Day! So I did a little research WOW we have invented so many cool things! Peanut butter!!!? Poutine and maple Syrup - come on does it get any better than that?? Honestly, I could not believe the amazing things Canadians have introduced to this world. Pace maker! THE telephone! The 56K modem - hee hee hee The Wonder Bra! Amen! 
Now I bet I will have people question the medicinal Cannabis but I have heard this a few times and this is what I found out. We were the first country to introduce a medical program through our Government - well we started off on the right foot. 
I LOVE Canada! I am proud to be a Canadian and I feel Blessed being born in this great country. The best thing we have a reputation for being NICE.  Thank you!!! LOL
We could be known for other things.  There are so many reasons to  celebrate today - 
never mind where you live... If you work up and are breathing ;-) thats a start!

It's the long weekend but far from being a weekend of rest! It seems to be our weekend to get ready for the rest of the summer.  We have already got so much done. I love my backyard!  When we moved into out house there was a picnic table in the back yard and a little bush. THAT is it, no fence - nothing. Every year we add or do something now it is a little oasis (for us anyhow) footsteps from our door.   This year we had to replace our pool liner - first time - so the first once really lasted well.  It should be complete by the weekend. :-) I hope as I have invited my friend Josh (visiting from Texas) to swim! LOL - Water would be nice.    We took out a railing will add new stairs and planted a big garden - Storm planted the garden - being the expert! OF course we planted a few extra tomato plants to bring some produce to the local food bank. I also want to learn how to make my own sauce! . The guys do most of it I watch and point! heee hee hee and make meals and bring drinks and keep company. In between drawing. 
When we are outside the girls are out there with us Hope seems to really like the pond and like King Kong has squashed a tomato plant in the garden already. She still has to learn OUT! Of the garden. I'm looking forward to her in the pool. Tequila loves the pool and I think Hope will also.  Scruffy LOVES to beat on Hope. I usually stay 'out of it' as I know soon Hope will be much bigger than Scruffy so let her dream ! ha ha Our neighbor sent over a few baby toys for Hope. That was very thoughtful of her.  Well I better get my butt back outside back to work! I hope everyone has a fantastic LONG weekend - almost over!  ENJOY it while you can!
