Forrest Elf is finished, it was a wonderful way to spend the first snow fallen day!  
This is a piece of wood from up in Halliburton that I picked on my last visit!  My friend had them on his property- wood slices, pulled from the water of a long ago existing  Saw Mill.
​I found a saw blade at the same time - still waiting for paint.
I was determined to paint a bluejay on this wood, wanted terribly to paint a bird on the smooth surface but this ELF kept screaming to all who looked. I saw a face but was more content on focusing on a blue jay - then my friend Linda said - 'I see a face!' My cousin saw a face, Norm saw a face and right until painting day.. the Elf won.  lol
I posted a photo on Facebook and it appears that most do see him there.

I worked around it all the while thinking I would add paint to the face last - no - it wanted to stay as is.. then I thought it would be fun to show anyone and ask 'what do you see?'  The rest takes a way from the face but not by much. I'm really curious to see if any little ones spot it! Above all else it was relaxing & enjoyable!!!

Some prime PIN time - the iPad comes in very handy - I had a real 'airhead' moment.  
I was searching bark on PIN.  Then I looked at what I was painting. hee hee hee 
I learned Poppy does not share well.  Scruffy was chilling on the pillow - until the heater turned on and then Poppy moved right in. lol  
Daisy is no longer permitted up stairs.  She nearly sent me flying down the stairs  20 times a day- and is constantly under my feet in my  painting room. I finally had it a few weeks ago, became very FIRM about the new rule - making sure everyone participated &  am happy to say she is already listening & no longer comes upstairs- we should have done it sooner - it is nice to her to stay OFF my bed also.  Poppy & Scruffy play more upstairs.

I hope you like my Forrest Elf. I think I know exactly where to hang him for a little while anyhow. OH - while painting - the little knot fell out. so I turned it into a mushroom and it may be removed. I will attach it with a piece of wishing line so it does not get lost.  It is an added little detail of fun! 

Tomorrow is New years Eve. 
2016 is here... Just another day? Just another year- never!
There is always much to be hopeful for!  I'm ending it on some great news and know it will continue on the same track.

A couple days past Christmas and it appears we are getting our first snowfall of the season! It was certainly cold enough today, the last day of Christmas holidays 2015. legally you also have to give 'Boxing day' off in Canada so some companies - like Norms - gave today as the holiday. He returns now- Friday is a holiday! New years Day!
2016. Wow. Where did this year go... I know. 

Our Christmas meal was wonderful! I was telling the guys 'it FLEW!'  We had dinner at my aunts ,15 in total, the meal was a constant chatter of cutlery, laughing, talk and compliments, cracker joke reading - the cracker you pull- hee hee hee.  
My aunt outdid herself with the cooking, my mom and Elly helped- I was to bring a trifle - but forgot! There was more than enough so - all was good.
Just an hour before Norm made Storms UGLY Chrismas Sweater- Elly pulled a fast one! lol She told everyone 'I said' it as ugly sweater Christmas!  hee hee and then got me too - so it was fun!  Just seeing my uncle Jess in his Festive Fleece Navidad cardigan, made me smile! Even the dogs and Princess Poppy - had on a new red sequine dress from her grandma. - it was certainly a colourful Christmas!

I made ornaments- guess when- at 5:00a.m. Christmas morning lol - talk about cutting it close. The tree slices from my friends property up north - wait until you see how many times you can put a dead tree to good use.  I woke up made my coffee and thought about others, mainly Jim. He is not with us, a first Christmas in a long time... I miss hearing from him.  Elly had moments when she teared but she is quick to catch herself.  It's a big day for everyone.  Jim parents also joined us,  I had the honour of sitting beside 'Grampy' and he made me smile several times throughout the meal. It was a pleasure.  Elly on my other side the meal was so delicious I don't remember much else - the talking would come later.

I love Elly, she made me laugh, smile, feel loved (as usual), what a year she has had - she recently had her roof replaced by a terrible roofing company in Toronto, they did a crappy job, exposed nails everywhere, mess left in the gutters & else where,  a foot was put through the roof - into her ceiling of her living room -  shingles covered where a vent should go  & MORE.  NO company names on the vehicles. Let that be a clue.  I think had she not been still so devastated by Jims death (doing this now on her own - ladies .. would you know what to do?  Not me) she might have realized earlier what a  terrible person she was dealing with.  One who tried to take advantage it appears.
Of course they are taking her to court - because she did not want to pay him for terrible job, Elly said fine.  Good.
Any of my close friends give me a call I will share with you 'who the company' IS - I don't want anyone else in Toronto  dealing with the same misfortune.

Bah Humbug Canada post! I ordered ONE gift for Storm - lol - I bought ONE gift for Storm, it did not come on time and I was like 'Little Cindy Lou Who' until the very last hour!  ;( Then I was bummed.  My fault, I was told it would have been replaced weeks ago (and is being replaced) had only I let him know sooner. Here I am again. Something gone missing who to 'blame' I have no clue. It makes me want to stop using Canada Post all together - no wonder they claim to be struggling. I can't be the only one, and not this frequent.
I have something in the process, a few friends have made wonderful suggestions. 
 
I did get 4 books - all gifts - Each from a different person. Each so different - It had me thinking... who does that say more about ? Me or them.  

Other things that made me laugh- my son in Grinch P.J.s!  Still giggle overtime it comes to mind. Daisy ripping through her gift!  The Elf... not on the shelf.  Sweet Georgia Browns strategically  placed. Elly driving up to see me. 

Christmas day was still one of the best days I have had in a while. ;) 
I was surrounded by love - in UGLY sweaters! 
Who could want anything more?  Not me. 

​Tomorrow I plan on spending in my P.J.'s! looking at the snow and painting!

Its Christmas day! I was out feeding the birds in my new P.J.s & bathrobe  in the beautiful sunshine!  Wow, never before has there been a Christmas like this I can remember - weather wise, anyhow.  This morning we opened out gifts! Daisy - as always had the most fun!

Happy Birthday Jesus.

Tis the season! & I don't buy gifts. I refuse to go to the mall.
I paint or craft, of course I've left it late so only a couple will be getting a 'real painted' gift.
* I also purchase from other artists and crafters. No 'big store' stuff.  I can, so I do.
I actually have a great idea for another gift - I won't make it for Christmas - I'll make it and gift it during the year - Just because I love the person I am thinking of.  She will love it too.
Oh My Gosh! Did I have fun with Saw 12!
My moms boyfriend Hugh gave me 'two saws' at thanksgiving, the hand saw kind!
What fun! He said - "maybe I'll get one back" with a big grin. I like Hugh!
He is interesting, every now and then he or I mention stuff that - no one else ever seems to know...  lol Like Oblio and Arrow. Hugh knew. 
He bought me great books last christmas - one about the gentleman responsible for the dictionary.. should technically, be called the Dicktionary.. hee hee hee.
Anyhow,  he loves elephants and I NEEDED to paint so  I did. Talk about meditation.
I started at 6 and finished at 8 with a few breaks here and there.
I looked at elephants on the computer - but  I didn't have anything in front of me when I painted,  (no ink) this elephant is mostly imagination. I thought of elephants as I painted.
Today, I'm inspired to do a drawing- probably won't get it done until after the holidays about another elephant " I am not a body, I am free! I am as God created me!" is the title.

I can't wait to paint the other for our own home.

  Tis the season!
Office parties!  Christmas open houses, parties, family gatherings and we get there by car most of us & we drink. Most of us. Fact.  Office parties and alcohol* - BTW are the start to many affairs and destruction of many marriages. 

Every year people die at Christmas in traffic accidents related to alcohol - over indulgence. That is what it is.
I really do not believe people get drunk and then try to  kill someone in their car on the way home.  Those who do and escape alive, live with it for the rest of their lives. 

Please think, If you are serving alcohol make a sign that says:
I LOVE you. Please remember that when you are drinking & driving home from your celebration.  Please moderate your drinking. 

I'd rather that sign, than a hospital  or morgue visit.

Kevin assisted me again with this  little poem ;)  I have a couple more as well on the desk.
Today, it's all about painting that elephant.

Cannabis IMO is much safer than alcohol.
I'd feel much safer driving with someone who has smoked than drank.  
Norm and Storm are both very responsible drivers.
Norm won't even attend  functions- he does not want to go and drink, he does not do it any other time - so.. I use to say GO!!  But now, I get it. 
Storm, will also have a glass of wine or two but then stops. Even if we are at dinner in the city he usually only has a glass of wine or a beer.   Thank God.  
I know too many lives ruined by alcohol.

Up at 5 this a.m. and much on my mind. 
-Poppy woke me up, throwing up :( She seems better now.  I love this little pup, she has helped me so much the past couple of years you have no clue. Maybe you do . ;) 
-Christmas - if not for the 13 foot abominable snowman on the front lawn and 12' tree,  I would't have a clue.  It's warm, I was out feeing the birds at 6 in my robe - thats it. 
-Our tree is up and a few presents slowly make their way under for Daisy, Scruffy.. none for me as I peek and am famous for it. 
-I am looking forward to Christmas dinner. I just want to sit and absorb.
Surrounded by those I love. 
-Thinking about the year to come... Ive started  a short term goal list, it's things I'm going to do in 2016.. some are easy - try a new Spanish restaurant, take at least 3 craftsy classes  (I already signed up for two and am so excited to start!!)  Touch an elephant! 
- I'm painting an elephant for my moms boyfriend on a old hand saw he gave me - he gave me 2. Last year he gave me chunk of wood he thought was neat, he had sanded it all and asked 'can you paint it for your mom?' On one said I painted a Loon and the other an Elephant - I had no idea he loves Elephants and he wanted to keep it. lol   So, this year I decided to paint him one... Oh my gosh! I just did the chalk sketch on the black saw - today I paint- Beyond delighted o paint this, I might not want to give it to him! lol  
In researching them, I have fallen in love  with the beautiful beasts.
Please don't ever purchase ivory! Elephant, Whale or Narwal!!!  
-2016 will be a year to be still.  I'm turning IN more to focus on my art. 
Plans already made for a visit away.. me and Poppy,  a few major art projects that I've been working on  - detail is starting to be demanded, drawings taking days instead of hours & I couldn't be more elated.

Understandably, I'm also socializing less.  ;)  & feeling good about it. lol 
This will include Internet interaction and e mail.  
Less time sitting here and more standing in front of a canvas.
​EVEN Less Television.
Everything for a reason.

2016 is about focusing on all that is good.
Determined to continue to  spread  TLC & THC. The message anyhow.
I have no clue why I feel compelled to do, what I do - trust me - somedays  I question
myself - Really??  
I read a quote: 'I whisper to myself,  'what the fuck' at least 20 times a day. ;)

Last years  toon but I still like the message:

Storm walked in y office and asked "What are you doing?
"I'm about to start a new cartoon..." I reply and point to my computer screen.
On it, is a simple statement in Latin.  
The moment I read it an image came to my mind. I giggled and got ready to draw.
Storm read it... rubbed his hairless chin and said "Yesssssssssssss, I agree." 
I just smiled at him and giggled more!  Thinking, wait till you see the final drawing.
When he came in later & saw the sketched out cartoon, he looked at me with a smile quickly turned smirk and a shaking of the head.  My job was done.
lol 

I had fun painting it. 
How true, age, education, money - it means less and less - those who are meant to be heard will have a voice. If we had to use it today... I guess we would say it takes more than an education, pipe, cable knit sweater? ;) 

Look within before you listen to anyone else.

Today is a new day!
​I got up! Showered and cut my own hair - lol
I asked Storm "pick me up a pair of good scissors please, I want to cut my hair."
He brings me home  'Frisk Duct tape and Sticky stuff 'super scissors! LOL!  
I think they worked awesome.
Then, I went hunting for elephants!
I'm painting a saw blade for my friend Hugh.
How can anyone hunt elephants? Such Beautiful Beasts!  I want to touch one.
I'll add that to my list of goals in 2016.
I'm making a list and checking it twice!

I'm thinking about 2016. 
I thought today:
I'll have a bit of fun on Instagram and 'give away'  an 'original card' a month. 
To anyone, anywhere in the world.  No strings. No postage. 
I don't quite know how... I think, I have to get people to add a #hashtag, so I will know who is interested in the card. The first did go to the interested person of one!   ;)
​I got a real charge to hear it ended up on a 'moms fridge'!  
That made me smile.  It also makes it all worth while.

What makes me happy?
Giving someone an original, hand drawn, painted card.
Painted with  time, love and tenderness  & thc.
I know how snail mail makes me feel!  ;D
It can be the same with a  postcard or a package - it  it the thought that counts. 

This will be the first card. 'Poppy in the Poppies'.

Let it Be.
I started this cartoon  last week and grateful, it was a distractions I seriously needed as I forced myself to finish the past few days. I still forgot to add the words .. 'with love' and had to go back in, after it was painted. That was not the plan.  
When will I learn, 'plan's mean nothing.  
Again my plan had a monkey wrench thrown in it the other night, I spent between 1 - 5 a.m. then tearing my office apart and stripping it clean. Until I was exhausted and cried out and went to pass out.. up and at it again at 7a.m., I need a good sleep. 
My guys left me alone. 
They understood & also realized could not help.
Today, still as I added the details on this 'Let it Be'
I apologized to Storm about feeling so sad, this close to Chirstmas'
He understands, points to my cartoon & says the answer is right in front of you...

Never. Not in my mind. Not within.
I really enjoyed making this cartoon - it was a test to myself in many ways.
F*ck it!  I want to have some fun. 
I put on my kermit the frog headphones - *Still remember they were a great deal.  
Turned on my music- it plays quit an assortment- It chooses:
Dr Hook started: Hooked on a Feeling.  Oooga, Oooga , Oooga , Oooga CHAKA! Oooga Chaka!  I see my frogs dance!  
Choose it does, nothing is left to fate.  
Are you paying attention to every moment?

I went within and started to think of what was making me feel unhappy & what makes me feel happy. What, who, music, mood.. makes me smile, inspires - this included researching beautiful images of lotus flowers on PIN &- google, beauty & fun images of frogs in ponds.  Some actually make me giggle out loud.  

I remember, I am a child of God who is thankful for everything, including the pencils before me!   A sketch soon turns to painting. 
Tears have turned to a grin.. I am calm within.
My twitch seems to almost tame.  

I step out for a dinner snack & back.
Poppy and I paint well into 3:15a.m. this is when I put the music to sleep.
My frogs end with a slow Dance- Chris Issace: Wicked game. 

I couldn't wait to wake up and start all over again.

​What will you create today - Good or bad?

Peep and the tattoo'd lady! The beautiful tattoo'd lady.
It made me smile, I posted this on instagram,  my pal Joshua commented 'Beautiful'!  Perfect- as that is the mood I was going for & had only started the sketch.
Tattoos are just one more expression of art.
They have the power that we choose to give them.
I often ask strangers (with true enthusiasm) to see their tattoos, - if I like it - yes, I have seen some and think - Yikes! Who the heck did that? Your dog?
I see other examples of INK and I want to touch them,  admiring the canvas - thought that went into placement & the art itself.
Many tattoo artists have taken it to a level deserving of mater artists. Displaying their gift on whom ever wants to display it. ;) It is a personal choice.  I like them. * I do not think I like them 'so much' when on someones face, as you can see.

I had so much fun wit this , I just sat there and doodled, I did the outlines and to top it off she has on a 'gold shimmer' paint over her body - that you can only see when you hold it in the light at a specific angle!

I can't seem to craft, I  had an emotional day yesterday thinking of Jim, our families  first Christmas without him.  I saw a big guy walk past my house - I wanted to run out and hug him.

Oh, Cannabis! Oh, Cannabis? Where would I be, without you!?
From start to finish I medicated when working on this drawing. Mostly for head pain when I am zapped while drawing. It is a part of my life now. I am actually trying to 'embrace it' - I'm not sure what else to do ;).  Cannabis helps get me through. Thank God!
I've been on pain pills before - they put me propped in front  of the T.V.
NOT where I want to be. 
I will never stop fighting for our human right to enjoy cannabis - for healing and happy. 

That is me - the second elf,  hugging my little bud. I medicate from start to finish.
Thank God. 
BTW - I show sneak peeks on my instagram account - because it is so easy for me to do. I tried to have it post to FB - I cant figure it out lol what else is new me and FB. hee hee hee.

The easiest thing to do is get caught up in Christmas & Not the Christmas, the day was invented & celebrated for. Certainly not to the degree of commercialism it has become. Another chance to go further in debt. I get it.  I've been there. 
We want to give!  Only, we have been led to believe that giving only counts 'IF' it has been bought in a big department store. 
Now, I find I am attracted to custom made gifts on Etsy or around stores locally, artists or making  ;) my own gifts of course. As with anything I never, know what to give or even draw for many. Others- I can hardly stop drawing with them in mind.  What a pleasure.

The drawing on my desk now, it won't be published for  a few days...  
I was not in a good place - I went into my office - sat at my desk and 'Forced thought',
if you could go and do anything,  with who and what would you do?'  
The image popped into my head. lol!  I've been researching what to draw...
A smile creeps across my face, suddenly words are forgiven, not forgotten.
It does not matter, because I am NOW doing what I love. 
Draw it. Be it. 
Have some fun. 
Put some love into what ever you do and it will show.
It will make someone smile.
That is a powerful gift you can give.

How Sweet it is to be loved by you!!  I feel loved.  Thank God.  Thank You.

I had a  visit with my friend Ivan via Skype this week that always makes me feel loved, we catch up, see what each other is working on and discuss dreams.  :) He is multi talented! He is working on this years float, new t-shirts and more  (shhhh it's a secret! Terrific stuff!)
Today is his Birthday! Check out his site and wish him happy birthday! hee hee hee 

We received our first Christmas card from JoshuaBoulet! ;)
In Seattle drawing up a storm, his mom bought him a ticket home for Christmas (I love that) - so Texas he will be! I hope one day he visits me! 

An longtime friend, Christine visited yesterday. How nice  to just sit and chat - catch up! 
I might get her to correct my cartoons for spelling from now on. lol 

I made a new 'artist friend' a very talented young lady, who's images make me curious to know more - beautifully haunting. She does not have a website. I'll ask and share at a later date.  & Now we are exchanging hand drawn Christmas cards and a souvenir from where we live! Not sure what to get, but I better get it this weekend & out this weekend!

One in particular is  'Serious Sunshine on my Grey Canadian days!'  :)

For new nest full of love.  I hope every time he is glanced at the recipient will smile and reminded they are loved by another next in Canada..  ;)

I have finally parted with an original Snail drawing on HEMP painted with TLC & then hung by my desk. I like to look at what I've made.  It brings me joy to know I created something from my own imagination! Again, it goes with love, when a smile crosses the face of the recipient - I'll know, my heart will feel it.  

An original is on it's way to a new home/studio - another I had hanging in my bedroom for over 2 years - maybe 3 -  I looked at it every morning and every night! The last time I did that, I sent Jerry kelly that original. I knew it was meant for him.  This time, I looked at the  HUGE smile one morning and I smiled and I knew instantly who to send it to & for several reasons!   I'll know when he opened it! My  heart will feel it.

I sent a card to a fellow Narwhal, lol I'm giggling - for my own reasons, which I MIGHT share at a later date.

I get giddy sitting here - wondering 'did so and so get a  package! ?' 
Have I made them smile? Other times I just send cards.
I send what I am to send...  to whom I am to send it.
LOVE.

It's Christmas Time, as you  might be aware a couple of years ago I asked for help and got it.
It is a nice change & challenge to draw what someone else has wrote. In this case what fun! BTW - I LOVE Gumby, lol - this was like drawing 7 Gumbys for me. I also really enjoy GINGER bread! Norm makes it for me all the time. This weekend! I get to decorate ;)

A Christmas cartoon Collaboration! Inspired by my glass guys - and the collaborations I see they come up with - WOW! Hee hee I started asking is anyone wanted to collaborate with me. The response has been awesome. 
While checking out FB, I came across Kevins page, because he commented - it allows me to be able to go 'see' people page.  Then I have to use my alias - because my 'GeorgiaToons'  account does not let me interact with people UNLESS they message me first. I saw he posted some 'poems' - I liked them. Simple. So I asked.
He was thrilled! ;) me too! lol - and he came up with these in a heart beat! - I look forward to working with Kevin a bit more this year, Ive asked him to  think about addressing other topics with me.
Later... when I actually had more time, I checked out his page to learn he is a stay at home father of two boys!  Wonderful! *If I had to do it all over - & with what is available on the internet- I would have gone this route with Storm.

The second cartoon is just as cute in my opinion, but takes place with elves in the Workshop!  WI can't wait to start to draw! A few other cartoons on my desk at the moment

I don't gift wrap.. well sometimes and only with paper that I have had in my craft room for a decade. I don't buy it anymore. I feel it is like gambling; may as well take that money and burn it - along with the ink, chemicals and trees. 'Reality Elf 'remember.
BUT! If you think I don't like gift wrapped gifts you would be mistaken.

I do like the VISUAL "presentation' wrapping and some people are very creative, I have this friend who's  wrapping would put Santa to shame - her  gifts so visually beautiful, each wrapping was a gift in itself!  I must admit, Norm too has a knack and he loves to wrap.
The majority of us  don't do a great job, or even enjoy the task that much - so:
         Let it Go!!  Tis the Season to Be Jolly! Start a new Holiday tradition!  
Get creative! Tie it in a pillowcase! A Reusable gift bag - I already received (TY Mona! xox) a very cute chihuahua "new library bag", a old drawing! An old cherished T! 
ESPECIALLY for kids who  TEAR it to shreds- Who could care less about  the appearance or thought and only want the gift (we've all been there) - can't we teach them  that until they grasp the concept of environment - we should let them have the choice wrapped or reused.

Never all mind all of that because - the only thing that DOES matter - Is your love, patience and attention during the holiday season and every day of the year.
It's just stuff and it's just stuffed wrapped around the stuff.

Love is all you need, fa la la la la  laaaaalaaaalaaalaa.
Paper or not - I still peek.  TY Mona!

Georgia.. On My Mind...  My friend made me a 'mixed tape' - lol according to Norm, and he put a version of 'Georgia' on it - I love the song. - I can't help it - so do many others. lol 
He tells me there are 20 different artists  versions he is aware of!  What is YOURS?
I like Willie Nelsons version. ;) & Boz Scaggs.

Kevin: I discovered a poet & artist on FB, I try still to look at every person that takes the time to comment & sometimes share - I like to say thanks... anyhow - I found Kevin, read some poetry and asked him to write some Christmas jingles in exchange for a toon.  I did this the past couple of years and everyone seems to be happy, and I get to 'gift' a stranger a original thanking them for sharing their talent!  It's all good. Anyhow - he did & I will draw them this week. They were quite good! ;) More later.

Grinch: In the Garage- My part finally complete the rest all up to Norm! 

Peep: Peep training is happening. Love him. makes me smile. Took his first test flight - he's not very good at it. i realized - I bet that was his first flight of freedom! It won't; be his last. If he will be my little pal for the next 15 years he will have freedom in my cartooning room. He took a quick visit to the keyboard and back! That was easy.
