Visit from a Bluejay!

Yesterday  I was sitting outside getting some sun, I add nuts to the feeder then I sit out there and have my tea.. when I came back inside I saw a friend sitting on my kitchen table - a Bluejay! Of course it was frightened and it started towards my kitchen window - I reached out and grabbed it!  I' have 'Bird' to thank for my bird catching skills (hee hee hee _ I grin with pride)  I guess because I couldn't believe it myself & it just got calm.  Like I said I do this to bird all the time and at first he would shake.. until he knew I meant him no harm, now he likes it.. this Bluejay was so calm for one second started to panic.. then it looked at me, right in the face and calmed down, looking at me.. its beak was open and I wondered if it would bite so I gently rubbed it and it seemed to like this.. I rubbed its head feathers and it leaned in.. I could not stop smiling! I walked  up to my office to get my camera.. it just looked at me.

I took some photos... I am so glad my hands were warm, I can tell you it's a strange sensation to have a bluejay claw around one of your finders. It was a powerful yet gentle grasp, big enough so my finger could have been the branch. Wow.
As I spoke gently to it looked and blinked and did not try to escape once.
We walked out to the back deck, and opened my hands and it was gone, I can still see it leave my hands.. as though a perfect scene from a movie.
Not long after I'm sure the same bluejay visited me at the deck feeder it sat there and just looked at me...  picked up 3 nuts before deciding and left.

I have this big black canvas waiting... as I finish the 3 cats today I'll be thinking about my next bluejay painting. I want it to be allegorical, only I'll understand it's meaning, I started one of Scruffy in a boat earlier in the summer & decided to not continue. It was full of meaning, meaning that can stay in the past.

After I research bluejays, symbolisms & facts I'll start to sketch. I'd be lying if I said my bluejay encounter didn't feel like a blessing. I'll admit holding it  -for one second -sorry, but I thought of John Jame Audubon who I found out watching a documentary- killed and used the dead birds to draw from, which made them so incredibly accurate.
No.   I could never do it.  There is no need now, so many photos are available- I've taken 100's of bluejay photos!

Letting it go, the dogs were in shock! I think, they thought I was faking it!?  I was so calm -the bluejay was so calm.. when it left my hands all their eyes (7 in total) including the cat- bulged!! It was comical- then they looked at me like WTF was that!?

Time to finish King of the Jungle & imagine good things - cause they make me smile!
Have a great day & remember miracles happen ALL the time.  Big & small.
Open your heart and watch what happens.

Get ready for adventure Poppy!

Swim your own risk..  Poppy is ready for adventure.
I've been coming up with some funny cartoons lately. Life related.
I've decided to make Poppy my alter Ego and draw more strips.

This painting  took me a while, I started it in the spring when my friend came to paint and could not seem to complete it, first it was a goldfish then Poppy, today it is finished.  Sometimes it just takes a while for something 'click.
You will see there are sharks in the water Poppy.. it's never just simple swimming fun.
You never know who swims in the shadows.
The octopus is on our side so all is good, it's  powerful purple presence is passionately perplexed by Poppy.
I finished it today thinking of new adventure, forgetting problems of the day.
If God puts it in front of me - I am taking the chance -  Me & Poppy!
Wether it is an actual adventure or one in painting, cartooning... It's all ONE big adventure.
Bring it on!!

It's my new painting for my bathroom so I can sit and ponder at the swim ahead every morning.
hee hee

I have a NEW bigger canvas waiting..
Black.. Not for long.

WHO definition...

WHO definition of Health
Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.
WHO - does not understand this?

IMO social well-being does not include discriminating people who choose to use cannabis for a  Healthy, Happy & socially well adjusted life.
Putting people into jail for enjoying the use of natural medicine?
WHO thinks this is still o.k.?

No ME.

Please, Keep in Mind I'm not encouraging 'hard core criminal activity'
Be careful where you obtain you cannabis, I look forward to legalization in the sense, people will finally have safer, affordable < I HOPE, HEALTHY options.

Amen.

BTW.. I filmed this cartoon creation (cause it's a fun thing to do on a rainy day) on 'time-lapse' and it can be seen on my Instagram Account:

Puff Daddy Foray Day!

Picture
The other day I was handed a bunch of BIG PUFFBALL mushrooms - edible -more important to me a 'drawable mushroom!  I joked and asked the finder if he was now  the Puff master or something - the second I thought "he is a PUFF DADDY " I started to laugh, finally able to paint it today, it's been a busy weekend - week.

Today was a Foray! It was more fun than anticipated as usual.. what a work out, I am sore just sitting here, welcome to  Canada- it was brisk this morning! I had so many layers I must have been at least 10lbs heavier. It was really nice to see little ones there today!
Two  of them and one made me laugh, he chatted to Storm like I've never seen chatting! "Can puffballs grow in my throat?" we talked about him at dinner this evening, he is a handful for sure! lol
I spoke with a woman briefly at the beginning that told me - she was looking for cartooning classes, as its what she is really interested in,  I have her contact and will send her and e mail as she was also speaking about Gouache painting.   The forays are a nice place to get out exercise, LEARN.  I was beat today and decided to sit it out on a log with Poppy in the sunshine after and missed the "identification" time.
There I also met Karen,  a like minded woman- we had a great conversation.  I asked her if she knew the statistics on a subject we were discussing and she said "As a matter of fact I do!"  How cool was that- and she did! - the day was definitely, Indubitably, refreshing. Everyday, I meet new people and think...  we could be friends.
I hope that never changes.

The King of the Jungle is nowhere near complete, the amount of detail that goes into these paintings, although small is more than I put in most work.  Tomorrow, I'm starting a new canvas & sharing  the W.H.O.  cartooon- ...WHO has time to think, sleep, eat..   good.
I'm actually going to work on another small bit of positive fun painting now, not too tired to sleep, listening at the moment to Santana,  makes me want to move.. the song "Smooth". & Black Magic woman..  Classic ;)  Time to medicate and meditate!
Do what makes your heart beat faster & puts a smile on our face...
of course I mean - Foraying! hee hee hee

King of the Jungle

Picture

Not long ago I painted the Bear, Fox & frog.. Storm called it 'Moonlight sonata' and claimed it as his own, he rarely does this - I was happy to gift it to him, I  had my friend Kathy from Kats Gallery frame it (above)  for his birthday, as you can see he has hung  it in place of value! Beside the fishing poles.  Storms painting was a different mindset only a month or so ago.

I decided to paint myself a matching piece - this time 3 cats!
The Lion, Jaguar and kitty. Again, I sketched it and then stared at it for about a week.
This painting means already more to me than most will realize.
More than I realized as I continue to work on it.
The Lion.. the King of the jungle.
As I was just painting, it crossed my mind..
I believe, I've met the King of the Jungle.
:)

"The King of the Jungle".   Are you the King/Queen of your jungle? I AM.
As soon as it's complete it's off to Kat to frame matching Storms then I will hang it where
I will see it first thing EVERY morning... to remind me of My King.
Give thanks and start my day.

It will remind me to keep my strength, the King will look after me, so does the Jaguar...
I am the cat, ready for  peace, love and prosperity.

Before I started painting I picked up this piece of paper it says on the back:
"He will whisper words of comfort. That no other voice can speak."
Amen

A bible verse with the quote on the opposite side from my little 'Bread of Life ' holder, I have had forever : Isaiah 41:10 ¶Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

I carried it up to my desk, then I went on PIN for my good morning hello and to look at my cats, the first quote that found me was a bible verse..  amazing close to that I just put on my desk.. and I LOVE it.

Protected by love I cannot fail.
Inspired by love I will not fail.

24 years ago today, my life changed for the better.
I became who I was meant to become... MOM.
I can't even begin to express the love I have for my son, you've seen it in drawings and more. It's hard not to be proud when I know his heart.
Happy Birthday Storm!!! I LOVE YOU!

We just had a lovely talk, reflection..  he is a really good, hardworking young man,  I can't put it in words. I don't need to.
He is starting to go his own direction and I'm focusing more on art and my own direction,
but he is NEVER going to be out of my heart for a second & I can not wait to see what the future holds.
Good things!
Great things!!
F*cking awesome times ahead!

Last nights giggle:
I took poppy for a late (sun setting) nights long walk! It was a beautiful evening the sun still warm.. I wore jeans but wished I had wore shorts!  I am thrilled with all our walking this summer - last night I thought - this is fantastic, we kept up a great pace, no balance issues Life is good... until the snow arrives anyhow.  ;)

This older gentleman  (my age- lol) walks towards me with a cute little dog (off leash) it runs over to Poppy- I realize how small she is when this small dog is 2x her size..

I say: "Oh, he's cute! Whats his name?

The guys responds :
"LaFleur!... Like the hockey player. My son named him!"  & smiles at me
then he asks "what's your dogs name?"
Me: "Poppy! ... like Opium. I named her!"

Well.. if you could have seen this guys face! He put his hand up to his forehead like he had to seriously think about what I just said... it took him a second and then he burst out laughing.
We both did.. then I said 'nice meeting you' and went on my way.
Giggling as I left- his face made it all worth while. lol

*I am Canadian I knew instantly who he was referring to,  btw- I'm not sure et it was Lafeur I do know it was a Canadian hockey player!! lol
I'm up and ready to PAINT! How about you? Lets get this show on the road!
Have a terrific day! Do what you love & the rest WILL follow.

Profits over patients.

My friend Justin came over... we had a nice afternoon walking around the garden, and speaking about anything and everything including cannabis - He brought me a very cool garden glass flower art sculpture - both Norm and Storm admired it,  I'll find a spot for it tomorrow.

Justin gave me the idea for the cartoon,  he believes everyone should have the right to consume cannabis and he is aware of  it's healing abilities.  We  discussed  the 'cannabis movement and the stage it is at - the gold rush turned green - everyone is getting on board, as it does with everything in life that makes you feel better.  We both agree, IF NOT for the SICK who came forward we would not be having this 'discussion' about cannabis, yet.  The children who are having seizures,  parents who came forward to educate- because of what they live & deal with daily.  Everyone knows someone who has died from cancer.
Thank God for cannabis.

Now it's all about: STUFF.
Some  don't give a (POOP) about patients, they never did, they have no idea.
Unless you've watched someone suffer and witnessed the medicine that CANNABIS is
- how it works - not just for releasing and getting high.. you might think of taking a monet and thanking patients instead of ignoring them.
Don't get me wrong I appreciate good 'stuff'- but other STUFF- it's going to  become just like the pink cancer ribbon turned green = Blender, bra or bumpersticker  - only green - Green with money.  A  friend shared today she has cancer, she has two little ones.

I know of a few who are doing some really good things - Amazing new ventures  HELPING not hurting, helping patients and communities- get rid of this silly  stigma once and for all.  Cannabis is a money making industry - GO FOR IT!  Why not?  Someone will, lets hope they do it with understanding, compassion and thought for the patient.

Like anything else pay attention to who climbs up ladders and  who climbs over the backs of others. Some dispensaries are run by criminals and you have to be careful & this police officer in Toronto with his 'dispensary'- we are finding out about money, lies and more..  what is the solution - Do not visit  it.
Yes, some are run by criminals you must be careful. PLEASE, EDUCATE YOURSELF.

Give thanks if  you are not someone who truly needs cannabis as their medicine.
Enjoy it!   It took a lot of BLOOD, SWEAT and TEARS to get Canabis where it today.

Cashy,  Jamie,  Michelle... too many names to mention.
I am very happy Storms story inspired Justin.

Are you seeing patients over profits?

Detail of a small painting I'm working on today.
I went to bed feeling confused, alone and tired.. lol considering I was alone and tired - it's not so bad. I woke up feeling refreshed, clear headed, alone and not so tired! lol  It's a new day!  Yesterday I was hard on myself (as usual) I don't need to listen to how people can  beat me up - I do it to myself enough.

I've not talked about my twitch as much because it has become a part of my life, part of the routine.. but every now and then, for Example: when I think I'm going to meet someone I like  (lol- who cares if i don't like them)  suddenly my twitch is all that matters.  What if..  AS if it is all the person will see. Then, I get mad at me.

Its been an interesting summer.  Norm & I agree we are going our own way here, so there is lot's to think about & do - mostly moving - I really have a calm over me and I'm not sure why, I believe it's because I know it is the right decision.. If you follow this blog, Norm and I were discussing divorce just before Jim passed. Grief put things on hold.  Grief does a lot to people I've learned this past year in particular.  Mostly nasty stuff.. ;(
I do have friends and family who are worried - yes, because of my twitch - I informed my mom - "I'll be better than fine, I am being looked after and I believe it."  ;)   That's all that matters.

I'm thinking about something I've not really thought  seriously about - having fun.
In general.
Playful, joking, teasing fun.  I decided to try something the past week in particular...
RUN WITH IT! GO FOR IT!
I thought - what have I got to lose?
Positive  imaging therapy, mental masterbation (Ivan calls it -  Not sexual - just incredibly stimulating)!
I sit,  close my eyes  force myself to think- then I realize I'm smiling - FULL smile... the twitch might be there but I forget - THAT right there is a miracle! lol. I forced myself the past week in particular to do this exercise several times a day and - I feel better!  Stronger and more determined to do what I know I need to do.  Not only do I feel better but I find I'm getting longer breaks.. as long as I can keep these happy thoughts- my twitch slows right the fuck down & I guess that says it all in many ways.   Not to mention the few FUN cartoons I came up with... they have me giggling!

I am doing nothing wrong,  I plan on keeping it up.  This is the right thing to do.
I will do what ever it takes to try to get 'this' under control- maybe thats just it- I need to lose control.   I feel so grateful for the boost- it's hard to contain my enthusiasm.. I think it can frighten some  - those who can't keep up.   That's o.k., It has PROVEN a few things to me.   I will be better than O.k. .
Watch & see.

Painting - Creating  brings peace-  I look forward to a future of painting, thinking pleasant thoughts!  Maybe even acting on a few... lol
Today I feel fantastic and I'm running with it!
If only in my mind for now- it's the perfect place to start.

Time to paint and think happy thoughts!

For me, this is it...  a new Doctopus distributing cannabis ;)
I paint and think about what I'm panting next. This is my stretching.
I'm going to have quite the Octopus/Dr.Octopus collection eventually.

Do what you love and the rest falls into place.

Canada has a race problem.

My good friend Todd Stimson (still incarcerated in  the USA for cannabis- legal lies)  is married to Kerry. This tiny little shell of a woman- right!  Kick ass Kerry - she is strong, determined and a down to earth woman effected more than most on this F&^%ing  lie of a War of Drugs - WAR on Us.  I saw her comment online one day..  "Sweep off your own porch before you come inspecting mine!" It stuck with me.
I was not sweepingly own porch.  I am learning - everyday I breath - thank God.
So, here I am drawing how bad African Americans have it across the border (and they do!) but then I started to hear we were worse!  Gasp? How is that?
We treat and have treated our Aboriginal people like they are nothing.
How ashamed I feel - ashamed: I had no clue.
Was I aware before 'The Hip mention', yes.. look into Human trafficking.
Where you aware? Are you aware?

Who does not know about missing aboriginal women, to think of it is heart wrenching, so it's time to draw about it.  I don't know how.. how so it will bring justice to artwork & individuals.. for the lives of so many lovely, lost souls.. being born into generations of abuse- abuse of alcohol, abuse of the system- supposedly in place to protect them- to protect ALL Canadians, abuse by more than I can even imagine to know about.
I read this article in a Dr.s office a few weeks ago:
http://www.macleans.ca/news/canada/canadas-prisons-are-the-new-residential-schools/
Most are in jail for NON-violent crimes. IF only we took some of the money to put people into jail & help them instead with education and support.  Money wasted on the Drug WAR.
When you know better. Do better.

I am reaching a point personally I can tell you, though my education on cannabis - what I read happening around the world. Just F*cking legalize it, enough already and stop putting people behind bars because of  it! So many poor, disadvantaged people already being taken  and thrown behind bars, WE should ALL feel ashamed and continue to do so until WE all speak up and demand it end.  Imagine the kids- the newest generation waiting.. to go to jail. Kids who never get to get a break from the start because the color of their skin. Fact.

Where would you go?  With changes come possibilities..  I know.
I've been researching properties in Canada. I love the water.
Living where I am now it's not an option. Prices have gone up in Keswick since the 404 completion, now a shorter drive to the city has made properties prices raise beyond my budget... my long time pal Christine has already informed me of this - so then GO!
I told Josh- "You're an American- You don't have to stay in Texas! (Sad still the state of Cannabis there, Imo.. people suffering needlessly) GO!! I said! Get on a bus and go.
He went and is doing amazing in Seattle! Such a talented guy my pal Joshua.
< read about him here!  I will say, our time hanging out has made us life long friends. Another pal Peter - he hated it here in Toronto and always talked about the England.. I said GO!!! WTF are you doing?? lol - He went! he got a job before he even arrived- Frig, I am proud of him. He has friends, shipped his very cool bike over and  when I last saw- On a normal F*&^ Fb page- he was having a wonderful time and happy travelling all over!

So, now what? GO!! But where. Halliburton, I've been there my entire life off and on and love it. It's a friendly community with an intimacy you don't get in a big city, I even enjoy and still listen to canoe - the radio station. I never have problems meeting and speaking to new people, it is truly a gift I got from my mom. I've never had a problem making friends, when I want them.  As I get older I'm enjoying a small circle of great friends, wider circle of  good friends.  Still, I can't afford anything on the water...
Then I ventured a little further Turo!! Nova Scotia?
Then I spied this "Inn"  - it is on my list of places to visit & stay. * these sites find me, btw.
Check this place out: www.fogoislandinn.ca/b/video  I love when WE help each other.
I wonder if I should move a little further.
I Know what I want.   Peace & WiFi  lol

I place to look at water, walk my dogs, have some chickens, have friends over for relaxing potluck meals. hee hee  I want to paint. I want to paint about aboriginal plights in this country, the struggles women are having around the world, poverty, child abuse.. an I want to paint  gouache birds & kertmit the frog.
I'm working on a cartoon now calling it "I'm ashamed", I am...  but I can focus on doing better now that I am educating myself & draw! I want to draw!

Slip in some travel, Spain, Scotland to see the Cannabus that features Georgia Toons!
Visit with Robert and the ZENkitty crew!  Visit Ivan and his talented wife!
She has already promised to teach me a clay class!
The USA is looking mighty appealing at the moment as well.
Go.

Where would you Go?

Nature and new friends...

11/9/2016

There is nothing like walking through the woods with a basket and your dog running around your side...  It felt good, at one point like 'Dorothy & Toto' -all I needed was ruby mudboots and a straw man,  lol   I'm not sure 'my companions' appreciated the analogy, but again - it gave me a good giggle.   Life is too short not to giggle. I hope most realizing when I'm joking.   If not, ASK.

I'm not joking when I say another good day was had on the Foray.  What a fantastic way to get out, meet new people, learn interesting facts and be in nature & although I did not find as much as the day before, the forrest seemed drier, less active, the samples smaller still at the end it was nice to see the table full with many different varieties. I will admit- a 'mushroomnoob' like myself is picking up a few things, just from listening and watching others ask questions. The lead speaker/identifier was Jan Thornhill who is also an illustrator and author of children's books, It amazes me how each instructor has their own "feel about them" and each one brings a new interest to the table. A few laughs as well.  There were several small dogs, they all behaved and Poppy never left my side, she was  the only one in a sweater, it was a cool morning.

Storm several times told  me of noodles in the past.. turns out he's made friends and they have noodles. Home made goodness.  ;) I was invited to the noodle fest! It's like a mini tailgate party at a mushroom foray and I leaned a few things there as well - Mini Sweet potatoes are delicious! Moon cake has a 'salted egg' yolk in the centre and had you told me that first- I'm not sure I would have been as anxious to try- it was really interesting and I liked it!  Homemade rice balls  stuffed with bean paste -  I am bringing lemon loaf next time!

Storm found a little treasure of  Chanterelles!  He shared to thank our hosts for the gifts they shared with us.  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chanterelle
We shall fry them up tomorrow.
I can really see why my son enjoys the Mycological society as much as he does, such a wide variety of people, all bringing talents to the table! If you are looking for a new hobby- it's a wonderful place to start, not to mention educational.

The exercise has this Dorothy and Toto medicating  x3, good stretching pain, use it or lose it... and in bed early. I get up early so I never feel too guilty about it.  I was up anxious to continue working on the piece I am,  painting the tiny details is one of my favourite parts.
A work of heart for sure!

Ending on a good note.. there were many people there from the previous week that ate finds and returned to tell!

We are family! I got all my sisters and me!!!   lol    Sing it!
It's time for the Mushrooms! Today is another Foray day!  We will be leaving soon.
I am amazed at the variety of mushrooms found on the last foray  including a Blue mushroom,  it's a wonderful way to learn about nature as well as informative on mushrooms and how much they effect our environment.  I hope to find an edible one!
This is a gouache painting.. the only thing I forgot was a bug or two. I can still add them.

Later today, I'm working on a new painting and thinking of a couple of cannabis related cartoons, here in Canada I think a 'calm'- regarding cannabis has fallen..  legalization in 2017 is on the way, still in the United states it's legal here and not there, I find it hard to believe how celebrated the plant is in some states- yet it others it's still backwards! A NewMexico state fair stopped a medical Cannabis provider from allowing a plant or even brochures at a fair!?  WTF. I don't get it. I remember years ago Treating Yourself was at the Women's Home show!  Marco Renda -made sure 'Treating Yourself' was everywhere - The Toronto Home show, garden shows and even tiny town Home shows.  At the Women's show- it was the only booth of its kind -  let it be everywhere, educate everyone. Familiarize people to the plant. PLANT. I truly believe at this point, anyone that prohibits such 'displays' is only contributing to abuse, addiction and even death of generations to come.

I did read a response editorial written by Duke Rodriguez, CEO and President of Ultra Health which reminds me of struggles we are currently having with Health Canada and dispensaries.  'Dorothy' at the State fair:

Dorothy, the three week old medical cannabis plant who was proudly on display at the New Mexico State Fair for a mere 6 hours, was the center of attention for many fairgoers yesterday. It was also surprisingly the center of attention for members of the Department of Health and state fair officials.
But, Dorothy was never intended to be a surprise. The entire time Dorothy was secured and under the supervision of the licensed producer. Law enforcement was cooperative and present throughout the display period.
The fact that the DOH is going out of its way to scrutinize Ultra Health’s activity at the New Mexico State Fair is both absurd and a waste of DOH resources. There are several other issues with the Medical Cannabis Program, including dispensaries operating illegally and without approval as well as delays on patient cards, that the DOH should be focusing on, rather than a medical cannabis plant with only trace amounts of THC that was approved by officials operating the fair.
Ultra Health applied for a booth at the fair on August 1, with our application explicitly stating we would be providing at least one medical cannabis plant for viewing and educational materials about the health benefits of cannabis. Ultra Health even provided a mockup of what the booth would look like, plants included.
After weeks of back and forth communication, the director of the Concessions Department notified Ultra Health of an opening on September 6, just two days before the fair was to open. The fair notified Ultra Health that the contract must be signed and the booth paid for by Wednesday, September 7 and its booth must be fully functional by the morning of September 8.
With less than 48 hours notice, Ultra Health complied with the state fair’s demands and respectfully followed through with the booth it had planned from the beginning.
Ultra Health should not be faulted for a poor handling that happened wholly on the fair’s end.
The New Mexico State Fair has beer gardens and an array of unhealthy, fried foods. Neither beer nor these varieties of food have any known health benefits, unlike cannabis, which is improving the qualify of life for more than 30,000 New Mexicans today and more than one million across the country.
To quote DEA Administrative Law Judge Francis Young, " In strict medical terms marijuana is far safer than many foods we commonly consume. For example, eating 10 raw potatoes can result in a toxic response. By comparison, it is physically impossible to eat enough marijuana to induce death. Marijuana in its natural form is one of the safest therapeutically active substances known to man. By any measure of rational analysis marijuana can be safely used within the supervised routine of medical care.”
The fact of the matter is that the world is changing. Just last month, Oregon featured an entire cannabis exhibit at their state fair, including a live plant competition and learning opportunities
for growers. In Washington D.C. cannabis plants have been put on display to the public. Isn’t it time New Mexico embraced a plant that it should truly be proud of?

WE ARE FAMILY.. Please show your support whenever you see an injustice regarding the cannabis plant. The more it is seen, doodles, pictures, brochures - the more it will be recognized and decriminalized- at least in the minds of many - (I laugh typing that) the fact that we have to TRY to make a plant seem normal, natural - wow.
Ultra Health, is on instagram, please show them some love.  www.instagram.com/ultra_health/   Strength in numbers, it does not matter if we are Canadian or American or  __________ (fill in the blank), we are all striving for the same thing.  Freedom to choose what we want to put in our own bodies.
The healthier option  for me..  is Cannabis.

Time to get ready for the foray!! yay!!
Have a terrific day All!

No Text tag or Toe Tag?

No Text Tag!  Text tag or Toe tag?
I have been with my son and on occasion he uses his phone when driving.. looking at and responding to a text.  I explain how much it bothers me - he is my one son and I read, see about it accidents all the time now.  I don't' want him hurt.
I have watched others do it as well - Adults.  Many of them.
www.textinganddrivingsafety.com/texting-and-driving-stats
Rather than words I've made these little tags.
I'm going to carry them in my purse and when I see or am with a driver  who uses their phone - I'm going to hang a tag of their rear view mirror ;)   I can imagine the response now.  It's something.   I hope
I've included a free download for you to do the same.
Moms & dads put them in the car the kids are using and visa versa.
CLICK on this LINK for the PDF to download and print your own tags.

I also suggest writing on the back a simple I love you.
Sometimes they need that simple reminder.

I love you...    we all need that little reminder sometimes.

It's Friday! Not that it means much to me- it's another great day to paint.
Have a terrific weekend - no matter what you do.

Wow! I love a rainy night! Today the green is vibrant and breathing a sigh of watered relief.
I woke inspired- and decided to sit out on the back deck in silence, watching the jays land, pick out the perfect peanut and  take off!  Oh, I wish I could fly.
I know EXACTLY where I would go.
I can go there mentally - somewhat when I work on drawings.  Yesterday, I started a new 'We are family' Fun Fungi painting! Still at least a day of detail and then a Re-Draw or re-paint of a toon I just did & fell in love with but had already made an agreement to part with.
A little more research - because it's so enjoyable & interesting.

I was just down doing the dishes- chores, life.. lol and  could only think of being at my desk.
Day dreaming, researching and painting. Do what you love.   Update on Scruffy- she is doing amazing, everyone that see's her does the 'Awww...' then quickly forgets anything is different and Daisy & she are  forever friends in the back yard - as tho nothing happened. Water under the bridge.  Forgiven & Forgotten.

I'm off to draw but must say thank you! I received a couple of gifts yesterday! My long time friend Kat of Kats Gallery sent me a very cool <><    she knows what they mean to me and how cool this funky fish is! & someone from instagram, Megan  sent me the cutest little painting..  now I can add to my original collection! & some funky cannabis sox, I will save for a very special occasion... one where I will only need socks! hee hee - I can't think of any right now but there is hope. lol

Have a terrific day! I wish I had something to show you- but some are top secret- and some are not to be rushed! I am ALSO designing a  FREE download cut out for all moms & dads to their children that are driving age or anyone really, whom you love and drives.
More very soon!!

Keep busy! Keep stimulated & Keep positive!

The cover for Cannabis Digest is complete! Finally!   Fun to color - lots to look at- I enjoyed drawing every moment knowing so many will enjoy coloring!
I'll let you know when they are available.  I get some copies and will give a few out as well.

I was also lying in bed the other day thinking and a cartoon appeared!
One of my new favourites!
Its wonderful when that happens, no thought needed..  inspire by love no doubt.
POW! wow. There it is.  ;)  I painted it on the weekend and it involved some of my favourite research to date.  It was actually inspired by someone in particular, they did indeed initiate the idea...  so I decided to let them have/use it, perhaps one day I will share it.

Today! bring on the ladies!!  Linda visited Yesterday- good to catch up on her camping adventures.. she might come to the next foray with me!  Soon - Rach will visit with some more Dog Bite prevention kits! & Bonnie is on her wait to paint! I've got my painting sketched and ready to go! "We are family"  its called! You will have to wait & see.

Have a creative day!
Do what you love with all your heart - it's that simple.

Another fantastic Foray day.

4/9/2016

I woke up feeling stiff to put it  simply.  All over. My foray yesterday had set in...
I was up none the less dressed before Storm - I think he was shocked.  The day was equally adventurous.  Randy was there again so it was nice to continue our hunt along with  several new people - To my amazement - just as many mushrooms- if not more and different!  Poppy jumped ON the lap of a young woman! It really takes Poppy a long time to warm up to anyone, sure enough - I knew her uncle! He teaches TiaChi at Loretto Maryholme in the summer as well as at the Georgina ice palace.  Small world.
It was very peaceful today, walking through the forrest..  One gentleman found a Death Cap which I took photos of  so please look carefully!
It will kill you. Do not eat it! No nibbling!
Actually- NEVER eat any mushroom you find unless you understand what you are doing. They spoke of it both occasions and it is an unpleasant death.

It's been a busy day, I hope to attend more I really enjoyed myself and realized my body needs to stretch! Then painting for pleasure.
The most amazing carrot cup-cakes for dessert a ginger beer and I'm off to bed.
Tomorrow is a holiday - I hope to enjoy it outside as summer is on it's way out... the fall mushrooms on the way in.

Hip Hip Foray!!!

The mushrooms are coming!  It's fall in a couple of weeks - it's the same day as Storms birthday.  Today my son invited me on the first official foray put on by:
The Mycological Society of Toronto!  I have to say it was my first.. and I had too much fun.
I was laughing all the way home sharing stories of my walk with Joe & Randy - two people I just met today and throughly enjoyed their company! We almost got a little lost..  I followed - we'll Poppy attended her first foray also! She saw horses & horse droppings that were as big as her head... but I don't think she even knew what it was, she did not bark only looked. We had just finished speaking about Snakes- and to use caution when poppy accidentally rubbed against Joes leg and he jumped, I'm still laughing at the face he made as he looked down expecting to find - I don't know what.

I felt  special to have these two talented computer geeks (hee hee, I'm only saying that as that is what they both 'do')  ;) - who where quite knowledgeable about many topics.
Joe is also  quite the herb enthusiast, between him and Randy I hardly knew which way to look! I learned about...
https://altnature.com/jewelweed.htm altnature.com/jewelweed.htm  which helps if you have been touched by Poison Ivy - and it happens to usually grow close to it, good to know as Joe was continually pointing out the poison Ivy  I was stepping on... lol
BTW, there was all ages and races - Perfect! I heard a bit a about India, Russia, Missauga ;)   interesting as usual.

NOW, I must quickly draw a few of the finds before they dissolve, Storm discovered the coolest find - an EMPTY turtle shell! I was so excited to see it on the table - and to learn it was ours! woot woot!  hee hee   Thank you Nature.  It was also  fun seeing my son in action for the first time as the Foray Director,  he is so helpful, everyone likes him- asking him a million questions- I was giggling at one time just listening to the 'Whats this Storm? 'Storm, How about this!?"  The president was also there as were a few older members who really know their mushrooms.
How fun was it?  There is another tomorrow and we're going again, my son tells me with the added bonus of the Burger priest  on  the way home.  Time to paint!
Do what you Love!

Draw a Cannabis leaf!

2/9/2016

Since, I have several people appearing to enjoy the time-lapse besides myself, comments, messages and a couple of e mail have assured me so. -I decided to try a How to:
Draw a  Cannabis leaf.  One that is far from perfect.
The reason being, no stress.. just play- its going to take you a few times perhaps to get it looking like mine. Every time you try it gets easier!
The supplies needed:   Ruler,  paper water color paper/card stock
Pencil, eraser,  paint brush - a few sizes is always good.
Green and yellow paint .  circle tracer ?-
something that traces a circle I use this
'circle plate cover' for all my drawings.
It was handy.   & HAVE some fun!  Music helps!
Picture
*note you can substitute Gouache for Poster Paint - the much more affordable brand -nothing fancy, or use paint from the dollar store, just get one color if you want. Green. ;)   Actually the Cannbis leaf is very distinct - you can really get away with painting any color leaf if you  follow the shape closely.  I painted the background yellow, so you could easily see the green and what I was doing. Feel free to miss this step completely.
I hope it makes it easier so you will indeed want to paint your own cannabis leaf cards!
Put on some good music and relax!

To watch the  Vimeo clip of the Cannabis leaf  go here:
https://vimeo.com/181272791  vimeo.com/181272791
or Face book or Instagram.  Have fun

Ending on a positive note:
I was high out in the garden today.. on life it appeared.
I could not escape the overwhelming imaginings going on in my head, songs stuck in my head.. been buzzing, the hot sun, cool in the shade kinda day had me smiling & drifting places I believe I needed to go. Someone watching  would have expected me to spit out a bird.   The grasshoppers where all gossiping.
It felt fantastic- I decided to just go with it - take it all in... every second.
Breath deep and  Enjoy..
I thank God for my fantastic imagination...  I was high out in the garden.
No drugs were needed.

Time to paint.

I was recently asked if I would share this infographic from:
Jason Adams @ [email protected]
It is 'clean', easy  to visualize, understand and includes informative links so that
YOU may research it for yourself!
Knowledge is power.
If you have any questions or concerns, I suggest you ask Jason.

Ending on positive notes..
I'm about to do the fine sketch for The Cannabis Digests Fall Cover!
Which means it will be complete before the end of the weekend
*a long weekend here in Canada!   WoooooHooo!!
Not that it really matters to me, I get to draw every day and that means...
every day is a weekend.

I woke at 5 this a.m. and looked out my window - the stars were so beautiful I went out & stood in the dark in PEACE, in the middle of the vegetable garden..   it was exhilarating.
Poppy would beg to differ.
