Reading about all the politicians that admit to smoking cannabis - is awesome! 
Woot woot!  Time to come out of the cannabis closet.  
BUT, at the same time I can’t help but think... well Cannabis has ‘always been illegal’ even if you only did it 35 years ago, and yes you were younger BUT so what! 

It was illegal (still is to most ) and I bet it was far less that 35 years for many.  
So to sit in office and judge others, punish others for something you HAVE done it the epitome of Hypocrisy

Part of me thinks, WHO cares?  Who - the average Joe that has lost his job and family for doing the exact same thing, that is WHO.  The AVERAGE person who has been  deemed a criminal for exactly the same thing and if your black and in America , and NOT obama - well chances are you have even gone to jail for  taking a few tokes. 

It has effects millions  with a criminal record, that can ruin many a future. 

HOW can anyone sit back and continue to watch what is happening, (anyone in political power) and go along with it?  They have other things to focus on - if you can not treat people the same on a basic level than forget the rest. 

So, as much as I am thrilled, the more that admit the more people will understand that it is nothing but a waste of time and tax payers money to keep prohibition on Cannabis  illegal. How many more will come out of the woodwork and admit to Cannabis use.?WHO CARES. DO the right thing! If you have smoked it in the past admit it, teach your children and admit that it never ruined your life or fried your brain - look at all the politicians!  Hmmm.. might not want to make that compassion ;).

Decriminalize it. < What I wish for.
Legalize it. - < what I see happening - so the government can still make $$$
END the lies.

I am starting to have issues with ‘anger/frustration’ when I read about the number of people dying from prescribed medications and still constantly read about or hear of Dr.s that won’t even consider cannabis for patients. WTF? 
Do NO harm.  

What is going on with the pill pushing world and why are we ALLOWING it to happen? Lack of EDUCATION.
I read an article where parents were ‘not as concerned when their child was caught with a prescription drug - over being caught with cannabis',   thinking - ASSuming  it must be safer - it’s prescribed by a Dr.

The saddest thing about all of this is many find out far too late into he game  exactly how bad prescriptions drugs can be, either by dealing with a side effect that is worse that the initial diagnoses or even worse when they are putting a loved one in the ground and then RESEARCH the medication they were on.. 
Why wait > READ the labels.

It is time. 
TIME to DEMAND  a safer alternative. Dr.s MUST get with the times and prescribe safer alternatives or I think they will have to start to take more responsibility for patients who die or become addicted to serious narcotics.  If they can hand out prescribed medications knowing the implications..

Answer this: What is the number one health concern in the United States & Canada regarding children (and adults)!?

Obesity. Not only causing death but untold medical related diseases like diabetes.
You know what comes a close second to killing more people now than car accidents? Prescription drugs, but thats another toon. 
Knowing this - now wonder how can we tolerate such a waste of time and resources with the following:

The Ontario Safety League, http://ontariosafetyleague.com   had a media conference   urging people to 'report local convenience store owners if they sell bongs'. etc. 
What a joke. 

Walk into any convenience store and there are thousands of items all seriously more harmful than a bong. Are we that stupid?  Let’s start with Junk food, the number one cause of obesity in children JUNK FOOD. > not a  piece of glass. 
How many has it killed? UNTOLD amounts. and GROWING - pun intended.
How about Energy drinks!  < Numerous deaths - google it. Cigarettes?
 Really, IS IT JUST ME?  Are we really that stupid? 
Candy? I remember reading a story about some girls that died after playing a marshmallows game - they got stuck in their throat! SERIOUSLY? 
Pop, candy, anything you need to make meth it’s all available at your local convenience store. 

This is just a Waste of TIME and taxpayers money! Not to mention the aggravation to store owners, and the possible animosity it could cause among neighbors. IF you don’t want it don’t buy it. Enough with the stupidity - especially at a time when  we are being convinced convenient stores should also sell BOOZE. 

ALSO - I am VERY tired of reading Cannabis is an illegal drug.

The Ontario Safety league IMO has too much time on their hands and too much of our 
$$  to promote such bullshit.  How sad  they would not rather use the time and  $ and energy to EDUCATE to keep Ontario's SAFE. Not continue reefer madness. What genius came up with this plan?  What a waste of time considering that in fact,  Cannabis just might be legal  in a couple of years. God willing, this insanity will be over soon.  
IF the OSL  really cared they would educate those ‘over weight’ walking out with a bag of chips and chocolate bar on the dangers of rising obesity. - But no, - that would be discrimination. 

If they are going to continue this ‘fiasco’ then they better also go to every grocery store where I have seen numerous bongs made out of everything from apples to pineapple's to old  pop cans!

For the record. IF you want a proper bong - go to a head shop. They can answer your questions, and the selection is much better.  If you don’t want or desire - don’t shop.
As for your corner store. Have we not more serious issues to deal with?

^ WHO  exactly decided what is worthy or not? Not me! I bet it is not a person suffering with a facial twitch that can be maddening, or the man that went up two breasts sizes... Do ANY of these people SUFFER from any of the side effects when they make these decisions?  In my search to try to ‘get better’ over and over I read about Tardive Dyskinesia -more and more common in  medications, if you think it is nothing to think about GUESS AGAIN!  A twitch in my eye.. I can handle that - ‘IF” this medicine helps...   We MUST stop and really weight the difference. I had someone recently tell me “well, I have to finish the prescription - I paid for them!” What kind of mind set is that?  We are killing ourselves because we don’t take the time to educate ourselves on WHAT we put into our bodies.

Then I read this;

I have Psoriasis ;( It is another issue all on it’s own, in every crack, visible, ugly, I shed,  uncomfortable.. worth a brain infection! OMGod NO!  HOW many people found this out the hard way???  I’ll stick to coconut oil,  meditation & CANNABIS thanks. 

When I wake up from my twitch every morning (for the past 4 years) I lay there and think... why? What did it? Then I remind myself - everything happens for a reason - learn to live and deal. Some days easier than others. I am still exhausted and tired of being exhausted - lol  Surgery  10 months and I guess I have recovered as good as I am going to.  So what have I learned? READ the FUCKING labels!  IS IT WORTH IT!? ASK yourself. Seriously. Even after you do that ask yourself, I wonder if they really know what will happen long term?

What should you do? EAT healthy!!!! Natural medicine and organic when ever possible.  That or don’t.  But don’t say you did not know, because NOW you do. YOUR future is in your choices.

Want to teach your son patience... 
Teach him to fish. 
We did not - well yes, we did fish with him when he was little, but it really was other friends that introduced him to it.  
My boy loves to fish & he is getting better at it each time. 
He has always been amazed with fish.  It amuses me how long these guys can sit and sit and sit.. lol, then they get a nibble and the thrill is there! 
I enjoy it but not nearly as much as I enjoy drawing. 
I enjoy the relaxing on the boat and conversation with my son. ❤

Anyhow I am thrilled Storm LOVES to fish. It has connected him with nature and it is a love I can see will always be there. Awesome.  Teach a man to fish..  He is into remote places though and a mom worries, especially after I hear a bear showed up in their camp one night! But - got to let that go.  My baby turned into a boy and that boy is now a man, what an awesome experience called LIFE.   He inspired the drawing above. 

Yes, here I take an opportunity to tell you it is because of Cannabis he can sit, sometimes just sitting is painful for people.  So is sleeping.  How many of us take each for granted all the time.  Myself included.  He's gone fishing as I type this.  I ask do you have your meds?
It's not an easy task BTW, even getting the boat launched he does all by himself.  I am useless - Not as useless as his friend who forgot to hold the rope when Storm was parking his truck... LOL  he had to jump in to then save his boat! 
Hee hee hee, glad it was his bud and NOT me! 
 So when I remind him to wear his life jacket, I also ask if he has enough meds.  
If not, it would become painful.  We have forgotten, or we have gone out  thinking we would not be as long as expected...  anything when in pain is NO LONGER enjoyable . 
My son needs his medicine to function.  Thank GOD it works for him and is keeping him as healthy as he can possibly be! Waiting ... any moment now...

Just before the last TY Expo I was contacted by a friend David, asking if I’d consider making Laughing Buddha into  glass art?  One thing led to another, and two incredibly talented glass artists made a couple of my characters out of GLASS!  It’s is officially called a Murrine: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murrine

Below are a few photos of Laughing Buddha actually being made.  I look at things all the time and often I think, I can do that! I look at how these talented artists make these little works of art and I am BLOWN away! I think ‘How in the heck do they do that’? I have looked at my Laughing Buddha murrine and then the drawing and think HOW the heck does he even figure out HOW to do that!? Patience for sure. 

I nearly lost them at the EXO and once home, every time I showed someone I  was putting them someplace and did not know how to display them... time to bring in an expert.
I put all call into Kat @ Kats Gallery (ON FB) and simply said (more or less) I’m making a special Laughing Buddha and this is what I want.. blah blah blah. Do your thing.  

I believe everyone is an artist in many ways. Kat is an artist when it comes to framing and creativity. Not only did she clearly put thought into it but to place the pieces on silk flowers! It just blends beautifully! Storm commented - “what... awesome, are those the only real flowers”  - it really makes you take a closer look at the entire piece.  It just is beautiful if I do say so myself! I also asked her to keep FUN!  She has known me for almost 30 years  so I knew I did not have to worry.  I’d rather someone else take it over. I do want to add  I have another framer as well, and over the years - when I need something framed  and ‘need a mans opinion’  or the drawing for a man,  I use my friend Bob Doyling (also on FB & a very talented photographer!)  Both artist in their own right, and as different as acrylic and water color! Variety is the spice of life! 

This laughing Buddha speaks for itself. It is a 4 artist combination! Including Kat.
 It IMO is the perfect way to display my one of a kind prize possessions ;-) 
Now everyone can see them, not touch, drop or lose them!  It hangs in my kitchen and so far not one person has walked past without commenting! 

Another Idea I had (after) was to have the glass and then have me and the artist in a photo cut into the matt above! NEXT year! The artists that made my Murrine are: Jerry Kelly, he made Laughing Buddha and is in the photos below and the Zen Kitty creator is  Stephen Boehme! They are both on FB and both doing some incredible work.

Sorry, It is nor will it ever be for sale. I was so honored by the gentlemen that made these you have no idea. Flattered, honored and humbled! LOL

Storm will soon be 21.  
He started Cannabis at 14.  Smokes it daily, all day.
I am no Dr. ... I’m ONLY his mother.  I can tell you he is doing wonderful! 
In these 7 years what have we witnessed? 

Our son, a boy turning into a man,  able to control his own pain all these years. 
He is a good person, smart, caring, compassionate and excited for the future.  
How it should be!!
How is was not for many years. Thank God for Cannabis.

The tides are turning and it is about time!  I am reading so much good news about Cannabis, thankfully its value as a medicine! ESPECIALLY for children!!  Prayers answered. Ask any of the parents you have seen on any the documentaries if they did not pray. They did. There is nothing worse than watching your child suffer. 

Finally. headlines everywhere about medical cannabis.  Parents all over will demand it for their child and more documentation will be available. It is AWESOME! I can’t help but feel inspired! Never mind just children, with 16,000 deaths from PILLS alone - more people will switch over. 

Dr. Gupta 'came ou't and said what MANY have been saying for decades, so I understand the anger and it was long over due, I have too thought how could they not know?  HOW would any neurologist NOT know what Cannabis research is showing with the brain!? 
If they do NOT, do you want to go to them? WOW.  
When you hear they have PROOF that cannabis is helping to rebuild BRAIN cells...
PROOF!!  HELL yes, I want my Dr. to KNOW this.  NOT wait for YEARS of research.
It should be myself and my Dr.s decision. EVER. 

I have wondered while on this path, I feel I am already on the best medicine available for what ever I have going on.  It appears to be the ONLY thing able to help me.  Keeping me positive and creative and Happy to be ALIVE!

Poppy ville has been dismantled. That did not take long. We have been doing some serious potty training!  So, keeping a close eye on Poppy- which I have a hard time not doing anyhow since she's so cute.  Daisy never let's her out of our site. Daisy is teaching her how to be gentle, Tequila is teaching her about respect and when to  behave and listen. I was calling Poppy, to stop from going up on the deck the other day and she would not listen. Tequila jumped in front and  barked!!!  LOL . Stopped her in her tracks and back running to me. Scruffy is teaching her manners, & about personal space and attitude!   

Every day is easier and Poppy is quickly picking up the routine. 
What a little miracle they are. Only 9 weeks and so advanced it's mind blowing and humbling.  
HAPPINESS IS A WARM PUPPY.
Charles Schulz had it right. I am reading his biography. Finding it hard to put down and it is taking me along time simply because of my twitch but I am determined to keep reading.
I had no idea... I agree with much of it. Especially the comparisons about the cartoonists.

A stoner. Well I think of a stoner kinda the same lines as a drunk. When the substance becomes used and abused. It is a fact. I wish it was not.  I believe more than anything  above all it is the person not the plant - the person not the booze <excuses.

It is difficult when I talk about stoners as I still do not consider them ever 'as bad as a drunk'.  Many just want to CHILL and so be it. But many get stuck there. Now to blame cannabis is unfair. It is easy to get stuck, and dependent on many substances. 

Sugar, fat, alcohol. Cannabis   I have a friend who says she can’t go without her bowl of cereal every day. I don’t think I do anything every day - DRAW if I’m lucky, 

It has been a problem for years but again based on lies.  It does make it difficult for those that NEED Cannabis as a medicine.  People  have only seen what the media has wanted them too, every rally a stoner with a bong and not usually much to say, other than lets get HIGH!  They are usually the ones that get busted with much more than grass.  We need to educate people on ALL drugs ON  Addiction. In elementary school, teach them how our lives can go. By grade 5,  I’d say many are pretty aware of more than most parents realize. I use to see it in thier drawings and hear it in imaginations during cartooning classes. NEVER mind what they see on television a hundred times a week.

I am so thrilled with the Dr. S. Gupta special!  Information I have learned & NOW many more in the world will witness and coming from a respected Dr. More will believe. I think it is brave of him to  bring to attention he patent on Cannabis the Americans have. Hypocrites 

THINGS have to change! Children are being SAVED!  Heart breaking that  so many STILL are afraid due to BRAIN washing.  The kids will suffer because of it, People all over the world suffering of LIES.

I hope Steven Harper is paying attention!  Money scandal, selling off our resources, not protecting our lakes, changing history, building private prisons, putting people in prison for growing their own medicine... wow, what a proud time in Canadian history, NO wonder he want to re-write it!

Please do - you might be saving someone’s life.  I agreed with  kids not using it if they don’t have to - I think that goes for all substances that can impair GLUE sniffing is worse that cannabis so - keep it in perspective and the NUMBER one abused drug in most  schools right now is PRESCRIBED medications.  NOT Cannabis. 

As for the one in 11 that gets addicted or was is 9% ?  <less than your average drug dealer on every corner called a 'Bar.' 
It is the person NOT the plant.  
I am so grateful for this plant I feel guilty if I don’t draw about it al the time! 

Final opinion on all this really is:

Is Florida next? Not too long ago I ws reading about them banning bongs. How crazy is that. I know people who make bongs out of apples, I bet Florida oranges too ;)I LOVE FLORIDA, as a matter of fact I was considering a visit, but with them being so behind with medical Cannabis I decided not. I went several times growing up. Yes, I did the ‘Daytona thing’ in my day... not quite like it is being depicted in todays movies! Yikes! 

I am also aware of the number of ‘snow birds’, seniors and hope they will be some of the first to be educated on Cannabis. Our elderly take far too many prescription drugs, many killing them because of mixing and over dose.  Cannabis is a safer alternative! 

I’m tired of saying it and luckily with other admitting the knowledge - well AMEN! 
It is only a matter of time. Will Florida be NEXT YEP! I believe so!

Last night I had a small panic attack... at the thought of not having any medicine.
I am running low and must 'ration'. 
When & IF the new changes take effect we will no longer be in control of our medication we put into our bodies. The strains that best help our conditions might not be available - and it’s been a while for me to find them in particular for what eases my twitch.  We will ACCORDING to Health Canada have to pay much more, another stress to me as my husband is pretty much the sole income earner since I became ill. We will have to worry about so much more it is insane.  The company my husband works for does not have any benefits, and because we ‘own’ our own home (and worked hard to do so) I cannot apply for disability or even a trillium grant for medication - I found this out a few years ago when my Dr. wanted me to try a new, expensive, arthritis medication. We are the average Canadian family. Well.. about the bills anyhow. ;)
I am NOT complaining, merely pointing out facts that many are not aware of. 
I feel BLESSED we've made it this far, especially when sitting at my desk.
 ;-) Like so many others we live week to week... because ‘shit happens’.

I am pretty much botox free. I like feeling my face even the pain sometimes is better than the constant numb feeling, loss of eye control, unable to smile,  drooling, feeling pain elsewhere etc... Did I tell you OHIP will NOT cover my botox injections!? Even thought they are CLEARLY NOT for cosmetic reasons..  - thank you,  Health Canada for making me sicker every day.
 That being said when I have an attack, you see it. 
I am having a hard time with it. 
So are others.  Oh well.

 I have to now worry not only about our son not having his medicine *which he has taken since the age of 14 and has been nothing short of ‘miraculous’ with helping his pain- I have to worry about the one thing that is helping  keep me together. 
The thought of NOT having it and dealing with this had me in tears. 

I am so AFRAID to put any chemicals into my body with what is going on in my brain 
- will I be forced to? If I can’t afford Cannabis? I know a few who said they will have to switch back to OXYKiller  because they can get them so much cheaper for pain. 
BTW MORE people abuse OXY prescriptions than abuse Cannabis. Don't believe me? RESEARCH IT! 

So  yes, I try very hard to stay positive, draw positive and continue to bring awareness but I do get angry and last night all I could think was:

FU*K you Health Canada! You are messing with peoples minds because you did not handle anything correctly from the start and Now you want to PUNISH US ALL??

I am really starting to believe that it was a set up all along, for Steven Harper to now be able to start to fill his private prisons. I think Steven Harper should be charged with war crimes against sick Canadians. 
It is a war. 
A drug war, one that many truly suffering, sick people have been DRAGGED into battle. Literally a fight for their life. 

Health Canada better be ready for the POLITICAL, nightmare of a storm they are bringing upon themselves. I’ve yet to meet anyone who does not fight back when backed into a corner, fighting for what they believe is their life.
Let alone a Human Rights violation.
The rest of the world will look at Harper with disgust 
- like they already seem to do - only now they will see JUST how LOW he can go.  

Why would they want us using Cannabis that we could grow ourselves when they can make a profit and solve the problem of the sick, by forcing us to take pharmaceutical drugs (extermination on a grand scale when you look at the annual death rates from prescribed medications) and putting us in prison. FACT.

Thank God for Puppies who take regular naps, chase booms & glooms away during the course of the day. <3 I can not resist to snuggle, so I too am napping more.

 Yesterday we got an e mail, Poppy was ready to go if we want her early, eating solid foods now and active.. I was thrilled! I was getting our bedroom early for her anyhow, she was on my mind.  I still can not believe how great my girls are, I know they are good dogs but it went so smooth it was crazy. Daisy was as expected EXCITED but  she was gentle, she wanted to ‘paw’ Poppy a few times I think to see if she was real. Even that, the touch was so delicate - it was comical. Today she has done nothing but SHOW off. Brining me the ball doing what she is told and later today lying Poppy’s play pen as much to say,  ‘it’s o.k. mom I’ll keep an eye on her.’ Poppy seems to have no fear and even showed Daisy her teeth!  How frightened Daisy must have been.

Tequila has been as gentle as always but could care less sort of attitude. She is still the boss Poppy was growled at when she sniffed Tequila’s carrot, she turned and backed away.  Scruffy pretends Not to notice- It is really funny, we catch her watching and getting a litle close every now and then, real close when Poppy is sleeping. Poppy likes to nap. On my lap... and I like it too ;) I feel really well rested today, kinda.

I’m temped to e mail Julie and ask her if Poppy had ever encountered stairs before...
if not I’m in trouble! She can follow us right up the decks no problem and up all stairs! 
After she eats she gets crazy energy,  Poppy turns Popeye. Tossing the little stuffed bunnies into the air. Daisy looks on like a proud sister already. 
Poppy Ville, Norm has to add another level tonight - that lasted a day.  

So Poppy has me busy but that’s o.k., I look down at the cheeky little face and my face hurts today - I realized a different kind of hurt - from smiling! 
So much like a baby, underfoot and when she is tired and had enough she climbs my leg and cries, pick me up and snuggle. All I can this is: O.k., if you insist. 
It has been such an awesome experience,since before birth! Fate, Norms friend from work just happened to mention his dog was having puppies, (the dog I always wanted, a chihuahua!)  close enough for us to visit and watch baby grow, and getting to meet a really nice family as well. 

Below is a photo of Julie & I and  Poppy’s mom ;-), they are keeping a pup -It has a heart on it’s bum right above the tail, and her sister took the other pup. 
Last night I painted the first Poppy drawing as she napped on my lap (it’s been a long time since I had a dog do that) and today I have so many toon ideas I can hardly keep up, but I have had just too much fun, snuggling, napping, playing to do anything else.  Norm and Poppy have also bonded. Storm is camping and does not even know she is here yet. Dogs are not my whole life, but they make my life whole. 

Someone commented on a post ‘the best dogs in the world.’ and I instantly thought every dog has been my best dog in the world. I’ve had the biggest & smallest, 

Pure breed & Mutts and I LOVE them all.  
The timing was PERFECT.  
Thankful for my blessing called Poppy. 
Thankful for all our animals.

Fear 

It is so easy for many of us to think the worst.  Many not even aware that the pattern of worry perhaps even established for us, by those around us. Aways thinking what if and that what if  - the worst case scenario. 

I GET it. If you think I have not thought my own ‘What if’s’,  especially lately - I have, 

The best what if... What if I die. 

We all think about it, but for some it becomes almost a reality as we deal with health issues that are unavoidable or  there’s nothing like surviving a life altering accident.. why do I say it is the best ‘what if’? 

Because it is the one that can make many finally snap and say:  
WOW! What if!
What If I just started to live my life and not give a shit what anyone thinks!
What if I fight for what I believe in and people see the honesty instead of the lies!
What if I do what makes me happy and enjoy LIFE. 
What if I just do the best I can..
What If I can make changes!
What if I Do succeed! 

It is 1/2 the battle, many times the what if’s don’t come true and all we have done is exhausted ourselves with the process.  EVEN when many ‘What if’s’  do come true - they are not as bad as we first perceive.

So many people are worried about the upcoming changes and 'what if’s' surrounding cannabis - what if I cant get my medicine, what if I cant afford it, what if we get raided, what if we go to jail. What if I lose my home, what if.. 

         WHAT if we all FOCUS on what can go right! 

What if we all said enough is enough! WE ARE NOT criminals! 
What if we stand together and make our own changes? WHAT IF!?
I for one am tired of the negative 'What ifs...' 
What if, I do what I believe is right and try to do the best I can to make this stay enjoyable and be a better person.  How could the world not be a better place if we  tried to do a little more of the positive “What if’s”.  
Too many negative already seeing themselves behind bars. 

I’m not naive, I consider myself hopeful. You can call it what ever you want. I have read over and over many time people are getting off, cases dismissed and changed made.

Cannabis education IS spreading all around the world as IS the demand for legalization,  so instead of thinking the worst - think ‘what if this is it & the tides are finally turning!

A few years ago I thought: 
What if I do some medical marijuana cartoons to try to bring attention to the problems.       What if!  Back then I did not think - what if my comics are seen all over the world?
No, admittedly, I was PROBABLY thinking...  
What if no one likes them...
What If I never get published..      
So glad I was wrong.   :) Thank you.

A week today and we will already have our new baby home.

It is WHy I don't read the paper. Anger management.  I saw the cover with the street car, read the headlines and put it down, I had read enough.  Days later and I am hearing  more and reading more on FB, Storm and I talked about it and I'm still angry. Questions ?! NO SHIT there's questions!! So many I don't know where to begin.
ASK YOURSELF:
How many times was he shot? 
They used a 'tazer' AFTER he was shot ... how many times??
This cop waited HOW LONG?  
He was HOW far away from the street car?? 
The kids only had a knife?  
This happened in Canada?? 
There's more....?  

Don't forget to ask yourself... was this kid just in need of some fucking help?

Oh my God. Please forgive us, IF we let this continue to happen. 
OMG we are fucked if we continue to let this happen.
