I had my dinner and documentary night with a few of my women friends, It was a wonderful night! How could it not be. Surrounded with friends. All busy women doing great things with their lives. Keeping busy - they inspire me to try to keep up! As expected there were a few giggles and interesting questions and conversation` before, during and after.  I know there are things I had no idea about regarding Cannabis,  the only way to find out is to be educated. NOT by a negative media but when you can sit and discuss, think. Add some great cookies and dessert and it was a perfect night! I found myself the entire next day reflecting on what was said and what a fun evening it was. It also inspired me to draw - mostly toons on local topics of our town.  I look forward to doing it again soon!  I figure once a month.

it reassures me  when young, intelligent people like this are as educated and passionate to produce such work, there is only HOPE that Cannabis becomes legalized.
Toon inspired by and for my sisters...

I don't think anyone is trying to say it's o.k. for kids to use Cannabis.  There is a lot of concern over children using cannabis.  I would hope that no kid (- to me a kid is under the age of 18) would use drugs at all, especially alcohol, cannabis or prescribed drugs. It is sad when children do. Kids should be kids as long as they can. Sometimes that is not always the case. Some children are raised in environments that are not always perfect, far from it. It just makes me believe even more that if Cannabis was legalized and children were educated on all drug use - we would all be better off. 
People do not give teens enough credit! I happen to know a few teens, my sons friends, my friends kids and some kids I teach. Teens are smarted today than we ever were! They have the power of the internet.  I believe that they will make the difference.  They are more educated on such topics. They can research, educate & think for themselves. I also believe that they care more about issues than we did when we were younger because they are more aware (again - internet) of what is happening in this world. I asked one girl in particular (17) if she tried Cannabis and she said  no - she knows a few POTHEADS and it does not appeal to her.
THEY can think for themselves.  BUT her mom told me when had a hospital visit recently, they gave her morphine  for pain she was experiencing - why is Cannabis not an option - an all natural one?  Her mom said - I could not stand watching her in pain and said  "do what ever it takes.."
WHAT ever it takes.  I know this feeling all too well.

Stop using it as an excuse.  If a child is raised properly with love and education chances are they will come to their own conclusions and make the right decisions.  I think that  children should not be lied to- you can't just say DRUGS are bad - they know that MANY people use drugs  but inform them on what happens to some people. Show them pictures of Meth users (I still find it shocking to see) Let them see what happens to some people who's lives are taken/destroyed because of drunk drivers...
EDUCATE them. Before someone else does!!! Educate them with respect. They deserve it.

Medicinal cannabis for children ABSOLUTELY!  I read yesterday about a 2 year old with a brain tumor who was not responding well to medications. 
Dr.s put him on medicinal cannabis and he is doing much better!!!  I am so proud of the parents.  I am so happy -THRILLED- to hear that more doctors are doing research and using cannabis for children. My son is living proof!  The past four years have been the best - pain free - he has experienced -ever!!! All other medications ever did was make him feel nauseous, tired and depressed.  I can understand not telling people when you are living with the situation. To watch your child suffer- you feel helpless and you usually need all your strength just to carry on and focus on your child and family.  BUT  once you see the results you have to share the information.

If  a child is dealing with a terminal illness, chronic pain - anything that might bring relief - by a natural medicine - USE it. RESEARCH IT! 
I was amazed to find out how many children are being helped by medicinal marijuana! Parents must admit it, share the news - their experience - Be strong! BREAK the silence and stigma associated with Cannabis. Fear has kept people down for a very long time. When it comes to the health of our children  - no more time to be shy.. Love has given me courage to speak up. It should always be about choice for what is best for our bodies and our children.  xox

Cannabis Digest is a paper out of B.C., I  picked up a copy at the Last Treating Yourself Expo and my husband and I read it cover to cover and had lots to talk about. I am thrilled to be apart of any publication that is trying to make a positive difference - Educating  people about Cannabis.  Well I just got my first copies and The Happy Hippie is Now in Cannabis Digest!  I won't read it until later -when I have time for  tea and cookies - Everything I read I learn something! It is staggering! - I am having my first dinner and documentary night this Friday! I've invited a close group of female friends, I am looking forward to it! I know after watching the documentary  "What if Cannabis Cured Cancer" there will be many comments and questions.  I'm not big on speaking in front of strangers,
believe it or not I can be a little shy, even more so now with the facial thing happening,  but I know how important this is and what better way than to tell a few friends and hope they tell a few friends and so on and so on and so on. ;-D They will also go home with a little goodie bag for further education and entertaining reading!  Were having HERB Chicken , HASH browns and Choc. brownies! hee hee  Kidding! LOL  

* On a serious note I do NOT think you should give anyone anything to eat if it has Cannabis in it `and they are not aware. I've heard of stories and I know my husband for example is just not a Cannabis guy - he has tried it and honestly - does NOT enjoy it. One time Storm baked cookies and then we went for a walk. Dad came home - saw the cookies and decided to have a couple.. A few hours later - the bed spinning.. He learned to ask before he eats!  *THAT brings me to another important fact! - No one has ever overdoses on Cannabis. We did not have to worry or rush him to the hospital. Some sweet juice and a nap and he was fine.  

My comics .. a few people have them , I have not really had the time to promote and get the ads to the magazines but it feels great!- Almost everyone that has one has already come back saying I need a few more - I have friends that want one. I am getting such positive feedback, the front cover intro was very difficult for me to write. Thank yo to everyone that is helping us on this journey. Every time you tell someone - "I know a kid that it has really helped" - you are educating someone.  The more educated people become the closer to legalization we will be. The less  parents like myself will have to worry about our children.

Well back to work! This week now that I finally have the comics in my hands, I am going to contact stores and Compassion clubs. **Remember that the first 100 sold on line are signed!  ORDER two and you get a special little gift inside! xox! Have Faith!

and a cartoon from my friend Josh. It is so fun to be a cartoonist - especially when you get to draw yourself doing stuff! There is no limit to the imagination!  IN all art. Not just cartooning. 
Josh draws the Green Reefer and we are both in a couple of the same magazines! We e mail back and forth a bit and I am continually inspired by his work! That and he's a great guy. ALL of my cartoonist friends are.
         The nut's don't fall from the cartooning tree? hee hee  
Anyhow it just made my day-  I share it here. 
P.S HE did a great job! It is easy drawing your own character over and over but hard to draw someone else's! and to be called the Queen  *blush*

I have them! It took a bit longer!  Norm picked them up this week! Now to get organized and get them out to the public!! I did have some people pre-order and that was very cool!   It all is. A year ago this was only an idea. 
Passion persisted and it came together! Like with everything it is a lesson! 
I already know what I will do when I put the next comic together. ;-)
My drawing is not stopping. The topics keep coming. 
 I'm inspired by my guys the most. Storm was asked to do an interview and he did and I am reminded of how proud I am of him.  You must stand up for what you Believe in. Knowing that NOT everyone agrees.
I have trouble doing this  - in my 40's and he is 18. A fine young man if I do say so myself (smirk).  Just a few days ago he said that the past few years using Cannabis have been his best ever. Being able to control the chronic pain, knowing there is hope. Not feeling sick & tired all the time from prescribed medicine.   Being able to focus on other life and not pain.
I can tell you from what I have not seen the past few years but witnessed almost every day before he started using Cannabis.. but honestly I'd rather not even think about it right now. I am tired. I think people forget - it is not just a story - it is our life.

A friend made a crack to me this week we were talking about how cannabis has helped my son so much - she said yeah (laughing)
 - "how are his brain cells?"
My little mean person inside was screaming - "obviously better than yours.." and then I wanted to tell her to "go &^% educate herself.."  But the me,  I do not want to say or think anything mean about anyone won and I kept silent.  It's not always easy.  I am getting better everyday. I do not want to be responsible for hurting anyone with my words or actions. I know I have in the past, and have been in the past hurt myself with others words. I can't stop it happening to me but I can stop myself from doing it.  God give me strength ;-) After my friend said that I thought, joke or no joke - it is not something I would say to you if I knew your child was suffering. So I learned again how to be a better person. I HOPE 
Cannabis has restored peace and gives us hope in our home on levels some might never understand. That is all I need to know and to be reminded that this comic is a great book! I am doing what I am to be doing.  I am blessed to have made this dream a reality. That alone makes me smile.  

I love Canada. Well most of it. Im not a fan of the Cold or S. Harper but that's for another day/blog..  Yesterday Storm and I went to Niagra Falls! Well we went to visit a potential school and then of course decided to take in the sights! LOL - there were no line ups!  EVEN in February - you can't deny the Falls are AMAZING!!  The ice just added another dimension to it's beauty! 
As always the drive was wonderful - a time to talk. We talk all the time but nothing like being stuck for a couple of hours to really cover some topics. 
We had a great lunch at the Hard Rock, I more so as the music was from the 80's and I had many flash backs ;-).  A COLD but wonderful day spent with one of the loves of my life. The other waiting at home heard all about our adventure later in the day. No roses, no diamonds, no wine.. this Valentines - just a day spent with the ones I love most. THAT is what Valentines day is about. That is all that matters.  
My son said to me I don't know where "I'd be without you mom." I can honestly say the same. Everyday we (all 3) always tell each other "I love you". Not reserved for Valentines day.

Well I saw it with my own eyes ;-)  I must say it was very cool to see my little comic being printed on the beast of all beastly printers!!! Storm was with me so we took this photo! ;-) 
Today was a great day all around- started with Chuck - always good for a giggle, Phone call and then fun begun!  I was able to see my good friend Jim ;-) always a pleasure, talked with Gary ;-) chatted with Ken and hung out with another guy ~who seems like a great dad.  looked at some photos with another great guy Noel, and then... came home to spend the rest of the night with two more great guys!! LOL - whew! I have to get out more!  "Hottie over-load!"  - favorite movie, Night at the Roxbury.

The printing press! LOL  My friend Jim invited me to come see my comic being printed! I had a glitch earlier in the week and it delayed printing (my bad) Thomas, Storms friend gave me a lesson in burning a CD - Duh silly me. NOW it's on the PRESS - I'll post my photo later today! 
Yesterday, I received confirmation that my strip The Happy Hippie is now in a new magazine in Michigan! (see it on my page-See My strip here).
I can't express in words sometimes how I feel.  Blown away? Blessed ! ;-)  
After witnessing how Cannabis has changed my son's life - to see him happy , controlling his pain, INSPIRED!  I said it before - It would be a sin If I did not spread the word! Tell the truth. I guess I am accomplishing that!  Each day I just get more inspired to draw! (doing one for Mr. Sarper later today .. hmmmmm.) So I'm off to see the comic being printed! YIPPIE!!
Posting photos later, * on that note.   My twitch, trying to control my twitch - botox has slowed it down (YEAH!) although my side effects this time is 1/2 a face that shows no emotion! LOL - Really! Being a cartoonist - you have to laugh! But I must get over it. I must get past that. If it stops me from seeing people I love...  NOPE!  So ONWARD! Twitch and all.

This was a nickname given to me by a friend Neev.  I am a Mama Bear. I have had to be. Even when I read about other kids.. GRRRRRRRRR. There is this kid, teenager in the USA  who wants to go to school, he has a  license to use cannabis from his DR. He has a serious condition that  causes him to have seizures. Some last more than 24 hours. They have TRIED other medication but the Cannabis is finally working!   YET this school wants him kicked off the property because of Cannabis in his system!??  Is this kid and his family already not dealing with enough!?? What lesson is this school teaching ALL The children about Compassion?

COME ON! People who say it has no medicinal value? OPEN YOUR EYES and EARS and MIND. Start to educate yourself on the topic - you will be amazed. Grrrrrrrrrrrrr

The first thing I did was go to my son's school to let them know he was legal. It was not really open for discussion. Thank GOD The school was terrific and has been to this day. Only in Canada Eh? ;-)  I HOPE not! 
Anyone that has anything to say to a family that are already dealing with 
serious health issues,  should remember that very old saying... Walk in my shoes and lets see what you have to say. 
It is truly sad. I bet all this kid wants is to be normal. 
Trust me if it was your kid..   What ever it takes. 

My kid is doing fantastic because of CANNABIS,  IT is a MEDICINE.
Thank you God for this PLANT. Legalize and move on!
Research and help more people. 
I 'm not completely against pharm. medications. Sometimes they HELP. Cannabis I know for sure helps with PAIN. WE all deserve the right to chose our medicine. I do think the problem lies with the toxic mixes... too many pills - mixed up in the system. 'They' can't possibly know all the side effects.  Education is the key. 

Cannabis just like everything ELSE won't be right for everyone! It is a medicine. It is so darn frustrating some days.. No wonder I draw so much . 
I do BELIEVE the truth shall set you free. Soon..

2 reasons to celebrate!!! - ignore the snow ....

What a great day so far! I woke up - said GET UP and GO DRAW!
My handsome son went to school and then to work! ;-))) LOVES his job.
My day started with a great e mail from CANNAtalk. I draw for them.
They send me brochures and calendars so that I can research about growing, print my strip in their magazine and I get paid!  ;-DD  Nice people I get to deal with. They help make me a better cartoonist. 

Then the door bell and a visit from a friend! ;-))) with something to put a smile on my face for days! ;-) hee hee  Just a nice visit too. I am so blessed to have so many wonderful people in our life.  
Then I come back upstairs to draw and the phone rings! Irvin Rosenfeld!
He inspired me several times. He has a terrible bone disease and has used Cannabis for years! He is a hero to me on several levels. He also gave me courage to speak openly about my son's medicine. I fist saw him in the Documentary 'IN POT we TRUST' . AND - what an amazing phone call. 

He is strong in his mind and loves his life. I am reminded of my love of my life. They think the same for the same reasons. When you are young and you have to deal with knowing the possibility of not living  a long life
YOU make the most of every moment. I am proud of both of them ;-)

Short and sweet - The girls all headed back for the front door as soon as we checked the mail! A big workout for little dogs - snow days.

Yippie! Why is it on a snow day when you can sleep in - you don't!? We were all up around 6. Norm out shoveling at 8, He loves to shovel snow! - really. I was up and drawing!  I love the LOOK of the snow and after all I am a Canadian! HELLO SNOW! Bring it on!  Good excuse to draw! LOL - As if I need one. 
I had my first paypal request! I guess thats a great sign! So I set it up for the comic book.  Updated my web page and soon shall venture out into the snow with the girls for a photo shoot! Photos up loaded later! ;-) ...
