Storm bought me clay for Christmas and I was determined to use it. I set up my room the day before. The problem has been my fingers on my hand have been swollen from arthritis, I decided - forget it - who is in charge here ? LOL
I mentioned before, Stephen is on p.i.n and he creates in clay! It was one of my first passions in high school! Then, I also had access to a kiln and a wonderful art teachers Mrs. Obrien & Mrs. Shaker. I've played with 'fimo' but there is something special about Clay, the feel of it on your hands, even as it dries is 'healing', for me anyhow.
I added a bowl of cool water and my hands went in for a dip when ever I had the urge, it felt terrific!
Music, clay... the girls by my side, I was able to slip into 'creative meditation' where I focus on good thoughts - most of them just happen to be about God! And GOOD!
Suddenly Laughing Buddha started to appear and it made me smile - not even being aware.
I did not draw it out before hand specifically because I wanted 'to play', I did not want to set any expectations up for me or the clay.
I medicated, only a few times, only when I would become aware of the physical pain from time to time. I don't always thing Cannabis can heal my pain, but it certainly helps my mental pain.
Just as I was finishing the last detail of the lotus flower, Storm came home and he had mail! A Box from Stephen G. Boehme., Storm had to open it as my hands were covered in clay and the instant I saw my pendant I teared up.
I knew Stephen was making me something, he told me a while back he was making me a zenkitty pendant. But to see it... Hold it...
Here is was in my hand and I felt 'loved' Storm just said "wow, mom." It is so beautiful.
I sat thinking about Stepehen - sending loving vibes out as I created in clay... and they were returned. <3
This is how it works. Life.
LB is getting painted today!!!
