I don't understand why all AMERICANS, not just Indians are not ALL Standing with Standing Rock!?  Look at the devastation already with PIPELINE leaks all over the world already destroying  our water, wildlife and US!  Wake the fuck up. 

They are fighting for ALL of our clean drinking water.  Pipeline accidents happen and the results devastating,  the damage in most to all cases can never be properly cleaned/contained.  But this is not just the blockade.. it's the violence on peaceful protestors.  Rubber bullets -  God forgive them.  I had no idea the damage they did, so they don't kill- big deal! IT IS inhumane  treatment of others!  This pepper spray shit, Jeeze I can't help but want to see those spraying - sprayed...  and this is what happens.. anger is fuelled by both sides. In my case Anger against the American government who would let this happen. 
If you research treatment of American Indians in History- we don't need to - is anyone still oblivious to this past disgrace? Here it is repeating itself LIVE for the world to watch this time, and it does not look good America on you. It happens all the time, Native Americans in America are incarcerated/shot   on average more than most.. after the well known statistics of African American Abuse, that is.
This time the world IS watching.  
Yesterday ironically, as I painted I watched a documentary : Before the Flood
It was not pleasant.. it was the truth and very crucial RIGHT NOW!  Please watch and then lets see how you feel about this profit only pipeline!  I understand people are upset regarding work- it only brings them a couple of months work at best- (which I understand many people survive on ) but it will destroy the land they live on for the future generations to come - we have other resources that need to be focused on- EVEN I understand this!

Canada has it's own Indigenous people shame we have to deal with & we are, I hope.

I've come to the conclusion that people often think the blog is about them, when in fact it is not.  lol   Which leaves me wondering...   Why do people think this?    
It's not my concern, really.   I can't begin to assume.   Ask.

This past week I've painted at least one painting a day -not huge - but kept me busy thinking.  Here's the thing. I'm not interested in nasty/shitty people anymore so, I'll just try to avoid & focus on the rest.
I am interested in fascinating, funny, educated in life, excited about people and issues.  
I'm not going to waste my breath, thoughts or time on those who are negative and can't dream... just cause you can't does not mean I can't !  I can, I do  I will.

All seems to find itself. I find myself.  At soon to be 53, I never felt more confident with my decisions... my trick it appears is learning patience.   hee hee hee
I know what I want.  I'm excited to welcome it.
What makes my heart beat faster, puts a SMILE on my face and makes me want to paint - that's what I'm focusing on!! I make no apologies.    You should too!

Legalization is coming to Canada - at least!  Justin Trudeau posted on instagram today,  
and right across Canada unlike the USA, my heart goes out to Americans how frustrating it must be. I am immensely pleased with Justing Trudeau  -I hope we keep him until  he gets old and grey & handsome. He is already wise beyond his years.
Fewer Canadians in jail for a something they shouldn't be in jail for, less families destroyed, less jobs lost, fewer families torn apart is what I want to see happen.
More time for our fine police force to focus on other more prevalent issues!

When legalization arrives the large legal LP's will 'flick the switch' and one in particular 'in my opinion'  will become the new 'CCBO' sort to speak, I'll add... I've been watching the Tweed 'ads', the jazz, the nature "very Canadian feel' I like the direction the marketing has taken and a few people they have working for them are friends of mine- some of my favourite people on the planet - lol,  - it's a good start. It's happening, Id rather see a tweed than a shoppers Drug mart, who if you real was against distribution a few years back.

Now again, if we could find some way to directly help others with Cannabis legalization - wouldn't that be the icing on the green cake. Very sweet.   Much like Ultra Healh is accomplishing in the USA,  Again I read about
 Native Americans now also being able to possibly grow HEMP legally.   

Cannabis is finally turning around, Thank God. End the insanity - if only we'd let those who don't need to be in  jail OUT. I like to dream big can you tell?  ;) Go big or go home.

*positive note: I had a run in with two police officers recently- it was such a pleasant experience, really- above and beyond professional and friendly, one made me laugh - he had this neat little quirk he did with his glasses, he would make a great cartoon character I thought - that's a compliment! It was nice all around, is all I can say, thank God.

What fun- the number although daunting - 50 - was a breeze!
I can't wait to paint 50 'winter- then christmas' sleeves! ***  On October 31st. the first 50 boys & ghouls to purchase a beverage/coffee/tea/ get a 'Halloween theme' sleeve free! A mini original to start the Halloween day!  It's that simple.  I thought it would be fun to make 50 strangers smile on Halloween.  What do you think!  It would be fun if they hash tagged #georgiatoons then I could see where my creations end up... not that it really matters!  One per customer - or beverage!   Ainsley is working (what a sweetheart) and I hear she is dressing up! I'm busy thinking, painting and cartooning.  I have been drawing a few cards lately and am really enjoying them - I think I'll come up with my imaginary line of cards.. starting soon.  They ones I've been drawing are private. Some more private than others -  I smile when I'm drawing them.  Giggle and daydream.  All my work is drawn with TLC  & THC.

Is there any better way to spend a day then to stare at a deer (preferably living), bear or cute squirrel, nature at it's finest! Give thanks to the many talented photographers who  share magnificent images of snails with raindrops. No words.
To study & stare into the eyes  of the animals is heart melting  for moi.
Relaxing & meditating.  Nature never goes out of style. 

Nature never goes out of stye - it becomes prohibited.

It becomes prohibited and we got to jail.. over plants. This is the biggest crime.
I'd get it if we were using it to harm others.  Cannabis helps. It has never killed.
I do get the NEED to prohibit some medications like fentanyl, read about opioid death increase in Canada - it is shocking, it was for me.
​Reading and understanding the facts and then knowing cannabis has never caused a death infuriates me. I need nature. 
Friends in jail, children suffering, children dying, police raiding.  BULLSHIT.
In Canada & the USA, anywhere in the world... You can not hide the the sun, moon or truth.
When 'Health Boards' are focusing on music videos - don't get me wrong- I don't agree- lets not get down and boogie with plants' unless out in the wild- it would be hard for me to resist.  :)     Address it and MOVE on, now - it's just a distraction.
What can possibly compare these days to some of the statements out of Donalds mouth?  Asking Canadians repeatedly, to discard our MEDICINE in Canada as though it were cat feces. It's degrading we continually are faced with  these distractions when all we want to do is medicate ourselves with plants and MOVE on.

On a positive note, Linda was over my twitch was 'very busy', I had 4 bongs hits in a row just to sit and have a somewhat relaxed conversation - it's been a busy week. She commented the improvement.  Time to make some edibles.

Battle for the Bay is the weekend!!  Our son Storm is chairman for Muskies Canada Barrie division, and this weekend coming is the 'Battle for the Bay!' One lucky fisherman - or woman will bring home a hand painted, original 'Welcome'  sign!  
There are many wonderful prizes- but only one painted fish! lol
I do plan on selling the other two, I'm always asked, so why not.
I will paint  one for myself too - a multi colored 'Welcome' Musky.
This is a creative break for me- I turn up my iPod.. Gerry Rafferty.. gets me going- and I just dab... with a brush. lol  Up close it looks like scales.  I medicate as well. My mind wanders and I have FUN..  amused, entertained and left to daydream. Boy can I day dream. lol 
Especially when painting standing at my easel.  
I 'get lost' & love it...   or,  am I found?  
hmmmmmmmm...   stuff to ponder.

I left it to the last few days as usual but they look terrific!

As they say on Instagram.. happy Caturday!  Perfect timing as I painted this last night!
Kat & I go way back as you might know (if you read this blog faithfully- lol)  she's been framing my art for over 30 years.. we met many moons ago, became friends and still remain. Not nearly as close as we once were - but that's life.. if we only kept 'old friends close' we would never meet new people. We grew. 
I wanted to thank her, she'd done a lot of framing & does give me a deal.. ;) perks with 30 years of service, friendship, bitching, crying, laughing.. etc! lol  I usually just send her the work and say frame it. I trust her experience. Her ART. 
I broke a cardinal rule with Kat recently - it's my own fault.  In my excitement I asked her to frame something for someone - 'they would be good for it!'  Turns out they might have changed their mind as Kat's not heard anything  now that the piece has been ready a few weeks - oh well.  
Frig, lesson learned, I apologized, it's not how we work after 30 years.  It's all good! I bought the piece off Kat- for a deal - lol! I will hang it in my office as a reminder.  Looking forward to it actually.  'Don't fall for it, don't take it personal Georgia.  Lesson learned.'

Kat knows actually it was more than not picking the piece up.. I was hurt' I'm so silly sometimes I could smack myself.  People change their mind, even about my art. lol  
Deal with it, move on and focus on what is important.  If I 'quit' every time I had a setback, I would have stopped drawing years ago.  
This past few days I've had a few personal set backs.. cry or draw.  
I choose to paint.

Recently, I noticed on Johns page (of Skunk Magazine) they asked who is a 'Canadian Activist' who has made a difference.. lol - I didn't see my name. I thought- I've been drawing almost 10 years now about cannabis awareness but can't seem to be 'recognized as contributing'?   LOL

If I let that shit stop me I would have given up long ago.
I draw for the love of my son - first and foremost- I don't need any recognition beyond that.  I get it.  I'm mentioning this because I commented on a few people I thought qualified:
Ted, Gail (R.I.P), Owen, John, Kirk, Kelly, Adam.. then I signed off and thought - that was stupid- you fell into the trap that you don't like yourself!
There are too many to mention! I don't want anyone to feel left out- like I usually do.  
To the point, in the future I won't name anyone.
Al Graham, Dori, Patricia, that grumpy old guy- I can't remember his name..   it hit me after I 'hit comment' .. they have been trying for as long as I have been watching and also don't seem to get any recognition.  Thankfully they don't stop. 
Just one person I might of forgot - made me think 'this is bullshit'.  
For everyone out there who feels they are not being 'appreciated'  - FUCK it!

Playing with paint, these halloween warm ups.
Count Dabula... a happy vampire at that- he needs cannabis for PTSD, all he would witness in his life/death time.   Would it be healthier to hand out cannabis instead of candy? I don't know .. watch a documentary on sugar and then let me know your thoughts.
That's all I want you to od by the way.. is think.
I never encourage 'kids' to use cannabis.. don't use anything.. that would be powerful. 
That goes for everyone I guess.  Sadly, most kids start with alcohol and it becomes the norm into adulthood.  Some can handle alcohol many can not. 
Please try to educate on cannabis anyway you can, the sooner the madness over it- is over- the better for the people, plant and planet.  
Perhaps a little more halloween fun in the next few days but my mind is also on more serious topics.. after I cut my hair and cut lose all the crap holding back with it. lol 
I get like Samson.. cut my hair and feel stronger. Bring it on baby! 

I actually thought of a Donald editorial(s) My gosh he is a cartoonist dream but, the thought of having to stare at that 'mug' makes me sick to my stomach.. so we shall see.

I decided to include cannabis in most drawings if not everyone from now on.
Plant the seed, bring constant awareness to this plant.
Feeling slightly festive- having bit of Halloween fun in-between other works.
Yesterday, I sent the day on a special paining doing much thinking... cannabis heals, it brings peace. Advocates who have died and were passionate about cannabis and the education of it. Thank you.  Educate anyway you can.
Storm has a PAX portable vaporizer btw and likes it.. me too.  
I wonder if they have them in purple. ;)

No one has ever been documented of dying from cannabis alone, in history.
Compare that with the number of alcohol related deaths..  are you?  
Think about it.
NOW before one more kid dies.. before one more kid is arrested.

OBVIOUSLY DRUGS ARE NOT TESTED  the amount of time cannabis has been documented with the number of related deaths that continually happen throughout history with man made medications. Lets start this 'research' with Fentanyl.

Yesterday we celebrated ThanksGiving! 
Sitting here today I realize what a Thankful dinner it was, nothing fancy, Mom cooked a ham and scalloped potatoes! & made Storm venison stew! Mom kicked me out of the kitchen - "I don't like anyone around when I'm cooking!" - I get it! I don't like anyone around when I'm painting.  The occasional distraction is nice, but usually - No.  
As it happened we had an unexpected guest!
A friend of Storms who we all know - at first I was like- Do we have enough? lol Then I remembered my friend Roberts quote.. "more than a mouthful is more than enough to share."  something like that.. lol    So, we made a place at the table! 

​Here's the thing... his family just last week lost everything to a devastating fire in Keswick.
Tom is the owner of the original postcard with the dogs.. 'Grass a day' - It did not get lost in
the fire it was in his Barrie apt.  Holy cow.. I don't even know what to say, his family has already been through so much, anyhow- I'm thrilled we had an unexpected guest! We all were.  It made thanks Giving all the more thankful. 

I actually baked a carrot cake - stuffed with cream cheese! It was relaxing, fun & stress free.
Today I painted a little Give away for facebook, The image you see above. I will draw for the original tomorrow.
Why? because I'm thankful I get to paint!
I can mail it to someone to make them happy. 
I can share my gift.  Make a stranger smile.

Getting ready for my next chapter...
Storm drove me NORTH to look at a house, it needs work, it appears peaceful, no neighbours to be seen, lots of TREES, a smaller home, easier to clean, more time to draw, bear country. There is already an offer on the place so.. we shall see, I'll know more in a couple of weeks.

It got me thinking.. every step is difficult sometimes  but once you've taken it - you think - 'O.K., whew.. thats done keep moving.'   I was excited and then cried on the drive home.. lol.
Affordable means further though.. during the drive I mentioned: "I'm not worried about being up here in the bush,  alone..."  His reply.. "No kidding, you're like  Tom Thompson with this nature, hut, painting.." lol,  it made me smile and I took it as quite the compliment.

I read a lot about people being ashamed their married has come to an end.
Let me tell you straight up, right now- there is no one feeling ashamed in this home. Norman & I went through more than many, we worked together and tried for 2 decades to make it work.. and it did. We raised an amazing son, had many loved pets and lots of fun.  
Money was the main argument in this house and sadly still is, as is is with TOO many.
Now we are in agreement - we are friends going in different directions it appears. 
It would be easier I think if we hated each other but life is not meant to be easy... and in this case I'm glad we don't hate each other.
We are too creative a team for that and will continue to assist each other as friends.
Anyhow- lot's on my mind- I'm feeling positive & finishing My KING of the jungle painting today! 

I warmed up painting coffee sleeves! lol
