Negative Vibes - No thanks.

As amazing as the EXPO was I did have 2 encounters that did leave me feeling ... disappointed.  Both times it was people I know and like  complaining to me about something.  The first a friend I had not seen is a LONG time and I was elated at just to see her! Only to go over and immediately be drawn into a negative conversation about seeds...   ?   My first thought - Yikes, welcome to the expo.  I walked away and let it go.  Later again I did not get my usual hello or even smile so, trying not to ‘assume’ I contacted once again via e mail when home* (In the past I felt nothing but joy when I see that person - so yes, I was confused and a bit hurt - silly me) That, then turned into bashing someone completely different even after I asked them not to. WTF?

The last day,  I had someone come and complain about the painted boobies and how they should be ashamed, it’s Marco’s fault, blah blah blah...  Oh my goodness GIVE me a BREAK!  I was tired, people might forget that I’m sill not well - and that is awesome, it helped me just do what I felt I need to do,  but I’m not and the last thing I needed or WANTED was a ‘friend’  pointing his finger and raising his voice at me  (I will say my son was also there and  ALSO did not appreciate it) because I did not share his opinion on  painted boobies.  I did tell him I thought he was wrong, he wanted to put the blame on someone not even associated with the girls.  Just someone else to blame? 

I don’t think so.
So yes, I quickly and abruptly ended the conversation and walked away. 
THAT was not the time or place and why me?  Really?

Once home and cooled off I made the attempt to talk about it - why?  Because I actually care about the person I had words with.. but even then the messages turned from painted breast to  $$$, marbles, and it appears someone was just plain miserable.  He ended blaming me for his terrible experience at the EXPO. 
I guess if you have to blame someone,  why not.  So be it.

But you know what... I get it. We are all struggling in many ways, some financial, mental and physical being the worst, IMO and relationships, live and  online, everyone is dealing with something. EVERYONE. 
It’s not always easy to stay positive.  <3
It’s not necessary to be nasty either.

I am thankful for a conversation I had with my friend Ivan just earlier that day...
Don't Take Anything Personally
Nothing others do is because of you.  What others say and do is a projection of their own beliefs.

When I read the message and saw that it went far beyond just painted nipples, I decided to let it go. I have no control of others anger or opinions. What I do have control over is my own actions and behaviors. 

I don’t want to GOSSIP. 
I don’t want to hear how much you ‘hate’ someone and I don’t want to hear about negative stuff when I am surrounded by awesome, positive and LOVE.  
Why the heck would I?

I did not ruin his day. He ruined his own experience. 

All  this negative bashing is a distraction. No wonder Cannabis is still not legal when we are so easily distracted and determined to complain about something instead of focusing on the REAL problems.  

I wanted to scream - “I really don’t give a flying Fu*k about purple nipples!!!“
Hee hee, looking back now glad I did not. 

We forget people are dying for this plant. Going to jail over this plant and yes in our own country - soon to be made criminals for growing this plant that people were told they could grow in the first place. So really,  I don’t care,  and why do you?  They are just breasts- we see much worse every day on television!  I met the artist - super talented and to him it is just a canvas - much like to a Dr. it is a Body.  I even met the girls in the bathroom. Nice girls.   Compared to ALL the AMAZING people and things I saw -  they (boobies) never even crossed my mind.  Storm, well they made him smile.  Made my son smile just to see boobies.  LOL  Why not. I know he was not alone. 

So go ahead complain about boobies and marbles and lack $$$, and even how I ruined the EXPO for you if it makes you feel better. I know it is not true.

Me - I shall stick to trying to remain positive and  focus on the PLANT.

Ignoring those that truly need?

Hello friends, new toon by me - guest blog from a FB friend who often comments and gets me thinking! So I asked her to contribute and here it is. Well said if I do say so myself.

MARIJUANA BLOG:

We all want marijuana decriminalized. There are at least four factions of the marijuana culture with many more sub factions. There is medicinal, recreational, spiritual worship and industrial. The laws banning marijuana use care not about the differences between these four factions. Why then do we break apart into factions and how will we overcome these laws against marijuana?

The only faction to gain the compassion of society and the respectability to attain a change in the laws is the medicinal group. Medical needs of the patients laid the foundation for their striving bravery in risking their own freedom and comfort. It is the medicinal user group that was able to overcome the societal disconnect between the truth about marijuana and the propaganda behind it's prohibition. Why then do medical marijuana patients seem to be so ignored at pro-marijuana rallies?

The pot head. We all know of the recreational user, probably the largest percentage of the entire population of those who use marijuana. The pot heads generally want marijuana to be legalized/decriminalized, but society had only a cold shoulder for the recreational user. No claim of freedom for recreational use could overcome the laws against marijuana or society's intolerance of marijuana. Yet, at every marijuana rally, there are hundreds (or thousands, depending on the size of the rally) of recreational users. Both recreational users and dealers of marijuana are routinely jailed for possession, intent to distribute and sale of this "dangerous narcotic". Despite the millions of people jailed for such crimes, not even one ever attained the status respected enough to gain the court's change of heart. Recreational use is becoming a collateral right as a result of the medicinal user's plight.

Spiritual worship is a smaller segment of marijuana users. It is generally comprised of Rastas, Hindus and Native Americans. This group of users was dismissed outright when courts heard their cases. Laws were interpreted to mean that religious freedom is limited to the freedom to "believe" what one chooses, but "actions" in furtherance of those beliefs were limited to the bounds of existing laws. Thus, laws against marijuana clearly did not allow for religious freedom of the "action" of utilizing marijuana for worship. They too will attain the right to use this plant for spiritual worship thanks to the struggles of medicinal users finally winning their court battles.

Industrial marijuana (hemp) was outlawed primarily to end any competition with textile companies. The rubber, cotton, timber, oil and other industries rallied against the use of hemp for textiles. They wanted to corner the market. Their processes were more profitable than hemp, yet the use of hemp would have put them out of business because it is a better base material. We can see the effects of this misstep in history. We have land wasted for cotton. We have millions of acres of trees torn down for paper products. We have pollutants in the air and water from refining the hemp substitutes. Finally, because of the loosening of the rope of prohibition, there are states requesting federal approval to create hemp farms for industrial purposes. Again, the loosening of the rope, stems from the medicinal marijuana patients and their utilization of the courts to gain the legal right for all of us.  

So let us hold dear our appreciation for the plight of the medicinal marijuana users. It is the suffering of the medicinal patients that paved the way (via court case and precedent) that allows for the possibility of marijuana decriminalization for all of us. It is the societal compassion for the medical marijuana user that finally began to tear down the wall of propaganda that so long stood against marijuana use. Remember this the next time you are at a rally and see the medical marijuana users on the outskirts of the "celebration". Remember that the celebration would not be but for the medicinal users who paved the way for all of us. Remember this and be sure to include them in the celebration because without them there would be nothing to celebrate.

Check out MY BUD collection!

Over the years I have heard many people talk about their BUD collection. There are so many different strains of Cannabis and many have a slightly different flavor, taste, smell and effect. Much like a wine collection - if I had to compare. I know someone who saves a small jar of every bud he smokes, with names like Great White Shark, Grape Escape, 

Blueberry, purple/pink kush and more - it is interesting to hear about all the different  LOVELY buds! People are passionate when they talk about their buds! 
I am looking though all my photos, the new display was a hit to say the least! 
The 2 hole spot for 2 best buds was a good idea! It is so fun to see peoples faces when they see it - instantly a smile appears across their face! Some would run to take the photo, other needed some coaxing but every one laughed! Once again FB profiles become Buds all over! It is AWESOME. That was the idea! Make people smile!
Plans are already in the making for a new display for 3 best buds!!!  

Then, I realized:
 I HAVE the BEST BUD collection in the world ! 
I love my buds. Some I do not know - they just needed an extra face! 
Others we soon become Fb friends and others really are best buds. 
Either way - I now have hundreds of bus with all different names from all over the world! My buds come in all shapes and sizes, colors and classes!  I am blessed to have them all!  Each one makes me smile.

In some photos you might notice, I was botoxed up for the expo. Ironically smiling, laughing and even eating trigger my twitch, Storm and I were literally laughing last night when looking though some of the photos and I held up an envelope to show only the  smile side of my face and then the crazy side... Storm said  “mom when you look at the photos all you need to remember is you were laughing and it triggered the ‘look’ so who cares... the laughing is all that matters.”  ♥

I look at my photos and some make me feel a bit ‘sad’ but then I look at the person beside me in the photos - their face the look in the eyes - the smile on the face and that is all I need. It makes me happy just to look at them. I have the best buds in the world. 

I look forward to growing my collection!!  Have a look at my  ‘Best Buds’ from over the past few years. You might know a few!

It's Monday 4:20 and I am exhausted! Physically and mentally and loving it. The Treating yourself EXPO is over another year and it was the best year yet for many reasons and on many levels. 
The 4th year now, many people have attended every year - Exhibitors and Attendees - It is so nice to see the same people over and over again , especially as some are from the other side of the world.  Each year becoming just a bit better friends ;-) 
An educational experience to say the least and thrilled to hear even more people yet again- praising the health benefits they get from Cannabis.  
More than anything it was a weekend to spend with my so in the city - doing what we are both strongly passionate about - educating others, especially parents on cannabis. It is done in many ways, through drawing, talking or just hanging out and sharing in conversation.  I had one mom come and thank me after their visit last year for pointing them in the right direction, this year she had her license and mom is less stressed, daughter feeling better  (as better as a terminally ill person can be) and I felt good too.  If thats it. o.k.  I am feeling overwhelmed today, thinking about the many conversations we had over the weekend. Everyone. 
 The quote came to mind instantly..

Introducing Running with Buddha.

Many of you might not be aware of my Hempy Stalkers.... probably because every year I am lucky if I can produce 10. This year only 8.  Each Hempy stalker is made with THC & TLC  & every year they get better and better. It’s only been 3 and like any other work you get better and fine tune it as you go along.  The problem is - NOT a problem for me - I have a few collectors that come back every year, so in essence they are sold before I even display them.

I did 2 things. I told all, they have to wait until the EXPO is officially one before they can purchase anything and Running with Buddha is NOT for sale. I decided that  with my ‘show special’ (More on that Wed.) 100 bags- every bag purchased is the only way you also get a chance to WIN Running with Buddha. 1 in 100, those are pretty good odds! 
If you do not win you still get an awesome limited edition bag full of Happy Hippie stuff. 
This way someone that might not be able to afford a Hempy Stalker can possibly own one.

My hubby is right now in the garage building me an awesome display!  Just for my Stalkers ;-) Each made with THC & TLC! Here are a couple of photo of Running with Buddha but like everything else ‘she’ is much more beautiful in real life.

Each takes a long time to make, almost a full year, proper drying and prep  then painting, bringing to life - most of them guide me as to what they become ;-)  I add little details, charms, beads, glass and what ever else seems to want to be part of Hempy Stalker ART. 

I have had Running with Buddha on display in my own living room and it is going to be hard to part with. Not one person walks by and does not make a comment! What a wonderful way to start a conversation about Cannabis.  Ideal for a Compassion CLUB, HOME. OFFICE anywhere!   I have a friend with one on order after the EXPO  to display in her store front window! EXCITING! 

To me they are sculpture, art...  that is what they are, NOT for Children. They are not toys. They are a little delicate but made to be handled, touched and appreciated for all they are, and all they represent! 
      LIFE - GROWTH and LOVE.

3C = Cannabis, Consideration & Compassion

I drew this cartoon at the beginning of the month but decided to hold off as to NOT put a damper on any of the marches. The marches are more for legalization of Cannabis in general as well as world wide recognition of a growing desire for a PLANT. When Cannabis is legalized world wide I am sure it will still be a day to rejoice!  

This is about a conversation I have had with several people. 
I talk to everyone and that is a gift  ‘to’ me.  I learn all sides of the story. I have been blessed as a cannabis cartoonist -  to be in a situation where I have got to know many people of all sorts, sizes, professions, incomes, ages, diseases and reasons. 

I am becoming even more convinced you cannot judge anyone until you have lived their lives and if you don’t get why someone is miserable then the issue lies with-in. Lack of compassion? I don’t necessarily think so, but a lack of consideration perhaps and again - possibly just because how do you think of these things if you truly do not understand?

*Like a video today with two guys talking about child birth they were singing a new tune after having ‘electric contractions equal  to a normal birth. Once you know - then you realize. Until then..  TRY to put yourself in others shoes. If only for a few moments.
I am having serious balance issues these days I nearly wipe out in my own back yard daily - causing much amusement for my girls who think mom’s playing a new game or  is mom going in the pool!?? Hee hee hee - not funny when happening though. I couldn’t even consider attending the march. Many patients who use cannabis  cannot physically attend these functions and that sucks. They want to participate as much as anyone else if not more!  

Cannabis would not be where it is today if not for the awareness of medical Cannabis and patients that are speaking up. I first learned from Documentaries with patients, I thank God for them.  Patients are now getting angrier as some light up, wake and bake, and stay STONED’ and become legal -yet other places continue to struggle for their MEDICINE and all the issues surrounding it from political, social etc... 

I guess I am trying to say is have a little more consideration, perhaps parades everywhere would organize a double decker bus for those that cannot walk!! O.k.perhaps thats pushing it just yet but if you are planning an event give those in wheelchairs, those who need crutches and others that just need to rest some serious consideration please.  We all want and deserve the same happiness. We all want to celebrate this powerful plant! & give thanks. Physically and mentally.

My first kids coloring MINI book! Print it FREE

I wanted to make a little hand-out for kids that might come to the EXPO, and for kids in general. A conversation starter. There have been several children over the years.
One page. Something to color with the added bonus of a few folds and a simple cut and you make a cute little book. Saw it on PIN.  I drew this today and have since asked FB friends their opinion of what should be in a book. I have a few new ideas and hope to try to keep making these pages and keep them circulating!

Every page is an opportunity to talk to your children about Cannabis and making healthy choices in general! Please feel free to copy and print it out I have also added  photos that  show you where to cut and how to fold below the coloring sheet ;-)!!
Print out a few and plant the seed of TRUTH in young minds &  you plant the seeds of curiosity,  understanding and compassion as well!  Have fun!  XOX

I have no idea who the Growing company is and clearly everyone knows how I feel about growing medical CANNABIS   but...
I agree with Bobby. 

The second I read it - 'I Got it' - smart actually, an empty arena! A great place to grow Cannabis, big, open, cool, truck backs up to doors. Sounds like a perfect location from all I have seen on the huge scale grows - In many magazines & ONLINE - research it.

There are many empty factories, warehouses possibly even arenas already shut down. 
The kids in small towns hardly have enough to occupy them as it is! We need to keep them busy with physical activity, as obesity is the number one killer in the USA and sadly we seem to be falling behind, too close for comfort in my opinion.

Shutting down an 'active' arena to grow Cannabis? 
I am sure it would also be a great investment for the town, wonderful, well paying jobs, too many are out of work and need it.  Most importantly - Quality medical cannabis for those who are sick and NEED it! YAY  I am sure several members of the community in question, are already benefiting from Medical Cannabis.
So imagine my heart, torn over this article.

Let me also clarify some ‘fear mongering’ going on -
“They are going to haul the marijuana out of the old arena right past the kids in the school across the street and right through the downtown?”
PLEASE...
This is a huge industry people - WAKE UP! 
I have no doubts that it would be run professionally with proper ventilation, security and the Cannabis would not even be detected if not for this article. Much like a truck backs up to the doors of every Walmart and drops off boxes - you have no idea what is inside until you  open the box or see the product  on a shelf.  It is the same way with medical Cannabis.
So - lets stop that nonsense right now.  
I also hope Bobby drops the 'I wonder what they were smoking' when they made this decision attitude. That is just a lack of disrespect for those that use Medical Cannabis.
Not a very considerate or compassionate opinion for ALL involved.

This fear mongering with Cannabis in general has to stop. It is a legally recognized medicine in this beautiful country of ours and it is recognized around the world as a very successful medication helping many. People should be demanding from their Doctors the right to use Cannabis over the more toxic opiates. Our body our choice. 
If you don't agree with this you better think long and hard. Over 16,000 deaths a year from PRESCRIBED opiates. SIMPLE. No deaths from Cannabis.

Please... - Kids have it hard enough. They watch too much TV and deal with social media on a level proving to be turning out a generation of shallow, uneducated beings.

Yikes. Kids need to keep active and no arena should be shut down for any reason. The same goes with Libraries and pools.  I'm proud my town opened a complex for kids. The ROC. 
BUT if it was struggling - I think it would be an awesome idea to boost a local economy &  opportunity to educate the town and children on medical cannabis. I am sure this is why they have even considered it in the first place.

Low fat lies...

I read all the time. Every now and then I come across an article and think - wow I did not know that! That is what happened when I read about kids drinking low fat milk - the healthier choice. IT is NOT a healthier choice.. I read that they remove the fat - using it for other products ($$$) and all that's left really is sugars in the milk - making it harder for your body and actually making it fatter. I am trying to find that exact article but It was a few weeks back - no matter just GOOGLE.

I am not - nor have I ever been a fan of milk  unless I have a warm brownie fresh baked and want a glas to wash it down. I am also not a fan of Ice cream. I want the good stuff if i DO and that means CREAM. Why do we let them play with out stuff? Our food our nutrition and our life?  I am even less a fan of milk after I did research on hormones.  

Please pay attention,  I really would never wish my twitch on anyone. Dr.s DO not know what caused it or still do not know what is causing it. WHO knows? I am learning to try to live with it. BUT why take any chances?? This is our children.

Please look at some of the links below to read more on LOW fat garbage. If it's low fat don't buy - learn to make healthier choices.

Now that’s an edible!

I  draw for many people, a few bakers the past few years - so I have tried my share of baked goods.  I am also in a situation where I have met many people who bake medibles. and I am even sent some in the mail and have to say there have been times where I do not eat or use the edibles that have been sent. I have even tossed several.

 Why?   I have no clue about who made them or how they were made, they can taste a little “off” or I can taste the cannabis... and like everything else lately I try to know what I put in my body - including GMO’s  so why should cannabis be any different?  

Unless I bake it in my own kitchen - I like to know what’s in it. ESPECIALLY with medicine. 

BUT I never know what to say to people. IF they ask. ”Did you like it”?  
 I always give my honest opinion and it might not be great, but I do it in hopes that they can make themselves better, not to drag someone down.  This is a competitive market like EVERY thing else so, step it up or move over.

Here is what I CAN SAY... This is how you do it! IMO

Each is CLEARLY marked ingredients, strength and even strain! 
WOW. 

I have had medibles from a few clubs and made such suggestions and then just watch.. some will and some won’t and those that don’t IMO will soon be out of business. 
Many patients do want some sort of clarity on what we are taking. We also want it to taste good! If a compassion club can't offer you an assortment  - then look for another compassion club. I think sooner or alter they all have to set certain standards.
IF you bake for a compassion club PLEASE  TAKE it up a notch!  

This is clear and professional and I was happy to sample. I have mentioned  this compassion club before because I know the quality of the baked good and yes I will say they are one of the best I have met. Why wouldn’t I - It is part of the confusion - anyway that I can help make it easier and eliminate any stress anyone is dealing with - been there done that!  You will fin a brochure from them in my special EXPO bag and a few other clubs I like and have had the pleasure of dealing with. (more on the bags soon)

If you currently use a club that does NOT present medibles like this - make the suggestion. Part of the problem is the sneakiness still associated with silly habits,  
food should be marked clearly for several reasons including allergies. 
Take the time.. add the detail of TLC - your patients will thank you for it.

BTW according to Health Canada,  Medibles are ILLEGAL. 
One of the safest ways to consume... what a joke.

How to end the war on drugs.

We would stop using them IF we had healthier choices like Cannabis!!!

How to end the war on drugs - the ones that destroy lives and kill anyhow...  Not on that list:  Cannabis.

As simple as it is, it is the truth.   Stop doing them.

 In my research for Cannabis education I have found over and over many drugs, many legal - all far more harmful than cannabis. I even learned that Sugar was first considered a drug and it’s health concerns made apparent from day one - yet look at it, as it is today... IN everything. That is another toon.

The only conclusion I come to time and time again is, it is all BULLSHIT. 

IF the powers that be - were so concerned for our well being they would be removing sugar off the market before cannabis.

If THEY  were really worried about our personal safety they would be removing candles off the market instead of telling people what plants they can and cannot grow.

There are so many drugs that destroy your life. Cannabis does NOT appear to be one of them. The only thing you can blame for destroying your life are the choices that you make in it.

IF THEY cared about us they would spend the time educating us, teaching us that yes if you use these drugs chances are - STATISTICS are you may die  (but they would have to do that on alcohol and tobacco and THEY made them both legal) If you don’t die you may still lose your job, family and children and all you ever cared for. 
But they would have to say that about all items that are in fact LEGAL. Items approved for our consumption. Aspartame for one..

I’m a little obsessed with the brain these days, any wonder? 
O.K.,  can anyone explain it to me? The insanity of this all?
  I’m kidding. I get it... I know it’s all about the $$$. 

What I don’t get, is WHY we continue to let it happen. 

Don’t Grow medicine that can help you and make you feel better and get healthy, here chew this gum that will cause you a slow painful death but hey, someone is getting rich somewhere.  
What is even more mind blowing is someone who knows about Asparatame will eat a piece of gum tomorrow or will drink another diet soda.  They will make that choice. YET we cannot make the healthier choice legally.

It is all about personal choice.  

Getting high is a natural desire “it’s why little kids spin in a circle”  IF, instead of lies - educate and instead of making criminals - created educated beings that will have a fair chance in this life. IF they truly cared.

 What will you choose to do?

  well.. not quite.  
Really? You tell me. Why not?

When I was little I remember my aunt Ceal, pointing out berries in my nanny’s back yard and saying don’t eat them they will make you sick. 
O.k. Got it.  I didn’t eat them, I still don’t ;-) 
Problem solved.

Instead of telling children - "ohhh it will fry your brain, it is illegal, it is a crime, it will make you crazy."  We make it a secret they get curious about. 
Secret + curious = kid   ♥

TELL them the TRUTH. WHEN they are little : 
“It is a plant that can effect your mood and how you think, it makes some feel tired, some more energetic and creative;  most importantly for many people all around the world it helps them with their pain.  MENTALLY & Physically.  It is not toxic but it does make some feel ‘sick’...  and don't touch it because you are too young and it *may effect your brain".

*I say  'may' because no one seems to know for sure...  but they sure like 'suggesting' it does.   I tell kids if you can go though life not using any drug- then you are blessed! 
I  know of  many people that also say, Cannabis is what helped them cope as a kid. 
I believe it.

As parent? IS there anything wrong with that statement?  It is the truth. 
I have always been upfront with Storm. 
IF they are old enough to ask - don't kid yourself they ARE old enough to understand.  

 AT the same time teach them the most common house hold plants that can make them very sick!  Also know this information for your animals! My cat Darkie, is always nibbling at my plants!!  Here are the top few:

So, why is Cannabis the problem that it is today?! 
Morning Glories get us high if we eat the seeds. But you don’t see people going around killing and robbing for morning glories!? THERE are far more deadly and seriously harmful drugs on this beautiful planet other than cannabis.    
Please do your own research, as to how it all started - Rich corporate greed, (does that shock anyone at this point?) - that’s how. 
BUT why now... still ? Because it is a HUGE cash COW. Look at the news, the T.V. shows and now the rush to make a 'medicine' based from cannabis. 
WE all ready have one though and there lies the real problem.
 KEEP it illegal so only a few may have the CONTROL.   <SIMPLE
Rich Corporate Greed once again...

A PLANT!! ? Who can argue if we just said ENOUGH! It is a plant, enough people have lost their lives, jobs, homes and families. It’s a plant get over it! 
Guess what .... It would be over!!  Oh, there are a few that will grow and sell and make some serious money and it is something people will embrace and celebrate...

Some people will still be successful. That too, has nothing to do with Cannabis. 
It is about the individual.  
Individual choice.

I choose Cannabis for HERB garden & my kitchen & medicine cabinet.

What a beautiful day it was today! I am excited for the radio interview this evening, and somewhat nervous as people are encouraged to call in.  Behave! ;D 
Either way I'm not nervous..  I thought I was, but I am in fact... Excited!!  ;-)
