It was a beautiful day, the sun was shining! Kelly drove, I just sat, admired the view and chatted away! I was excited as Kelly is a teacher and I wanted to talk about stuff I had seen on PIN recently and a few other ideas. We talked about all things and she was also educated on the medical side of cannabis although has never needed or used... how refreshing.
I asked Storm to roll me 3 joints and had my DaVinci, just in case. I medicated just before the show - met 2 nice gentlemen in the 'smoking area; with me ;) We exchanged a few good words and a laugh. I love meeting strangers. Then into the Gallery!
Kyles work is in all the outside windows as well... Wow.
Hard to believe, when ever I am at a loss for words.
It really MUST be seen to be appreciated to the fullest. The detail, direction, power and peace it makes me feel is strange. I WOULD sit and stare for hours. It pulls you in and you find yourself wandering and wondering. I know they represent buildings and I am NOT a fan of 'city living' but I find a sense of calm - the colors excite me. I wish I could afford one, ONE day! I did not touch, as tempted as I was.
I do believe in owning original art.
You'll never hear, "Oh, my 80 year old aunt has that one over her sofa too! "
You are supporting a PERSON directly. Encouraging an artist to continue - hopefully.
Inspiring others by sharing your art and more. Every piece, I wonder... how long did that take, how did they do that? What were they thinking? Feeling?
I've included links below to Kyles FB page you can find out when the show is running, with a link to the Gallery. Also photos of the day.
We then, all three walked around Yorkville, again Kyle is one of those guys that knows all sorts of interesting facts and never fails to amuse. I had no idea all the art, just in the one area. Can't wait to take Poppy in the summer. ;) I wished we had longer but the idea was to beat the traffic and we we did!
I have included photos below. I am thankful for the day, the experience and getting to see Kyles work up close! Inspired? YOU BET!!! A new laughing Buddha on the drawing board as I type. Posting tomorrow.
BTW - I was not HIGH, I was able to walk around Yorkville and enjoy the afternoon, medicated. NOT, it would not have happened and yes I feel it today - so what ;) I am extra sore but it was worth it.
