LOL!! Read on and you will understand my reason for LOL
I don’t understand how anyone can patent a plant that has been on this earth by our creator and used since (first documented) 2727 BC *** I’d say thats a little longer than a year - that’ Cannabis has been made public.
A plant that God placed on this earth for all to use. Page ONE of the bible 11And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.
I can understand placing a patent on an invention, of course but the invention here again was made by GOD. I mean come on! What next patent air - so with each breath we will owe someone $? Do you KNOW it is ILLEGAL in some places to collect RAIN WATER!? RAIN water! It puts my stomach into knots. If you know and don’t care you should be ashamed. You don’t care because it is not affecting you... but it affecting someone, someone who is thirsty and does not have the simple luxury of water! Water, plants - what next?
I shake my head when someone informed me - in a simple e mail I got Google:6630507
Guess what comes up: the US Patent office. Guess who has a patent on Cannabis? The U.S government. Don’t believe me GOOGLE: 6630507
I shake my head because not too long ago The U.S government tried to say Cannabis has no medicinal value. Here is what is listed below:
Inventors: Hampson; Aidan J. (Irvine, CA), Axelrod; Julius (Rockville, MD), Grimaldi; Maurizio (Bethesda, MD) THEY forgot to mention GOD. A country that claims “In God we Trust.” Clearly they don’t trust him enough to give him credit for his plant!!

PCT No.:PCT/US99/08769 PCT Pub. No.:WO99/53917 PCT Pub. Date:October 28, 1999 Cannabinoids as antioxidants and neuroprotectants Abstract
Cannabinoids have been found to have antioxidant properties, unrelated to NMDA receptor antagonism. This new found property makes cannabinoids useful in the treatment and prophylaxis of wide variety of oxidation associated diseases, such as ischemic, age-related, inflammatory and autoimmune diseases. The cannabinoids are found to have particular application as neuroprotectants, for example in limiting neurological damage following ischemic insults, such as stroke and trauma, or in the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease and HIV dementia. Nonpsychoactive cannabinoids, such as cannabidoil, are particularly advantageous to use because they avoid toxicity that is encountered with psychoactive cannabinoids at high doses useful in the method of the present invention. A particular disclosed class of cannabinoids useful as neuroprotective antioxidants is formula (I) wherein the R group is independently selected from the group consisting of H, CH.sub.3, and COCH.sub.3. ##STR1##
