It had to be from a shelter, and it had to be a puppy. When introducing another animal into a home with other pets - as long as you introduce a baby it works. I have always been amazed how even the grumpiest of dogs has patience for a kitten. So just a week ago I started to search and found 2 puppies. As fate would have it for one reason or another One puppy was no longer an option ( the provider is very strict about her puppies being fed RAW meat meals. I sounds very interesting and makes sense but I was very honest and told her I could NOT promise we would feed the dog that diet. As my husband said " we have always had dogs and they have always lived a LONG natural, healthy life. We had 2 Great Danes both lived past 10 one was 14!" She said no and I respect her wishes. That left one puppy. We filled out the applications and then waited.
The entire time I was thinking it is is meant to be .. God willing, we will get her! This week everything just has fallen into place. REALLY- I laugh at how it just all seems to be coming together.
I am nervous! Our last puppy was 4 years ago - now Scruffy - she too was a rescue. She is an amazing dog! WITH too much energy - LOL - not for long! Wait till she meets her sister later today! Tequila my oldest - well she just ignores everyone but I believe she too will welcome the new addition. As for the cats - they have always held their own! Any how just the thought of it has me giggling and excited and a bit tired!
I've got the least and collar, blanket all ready to go. When we come home I have my sketch book and other stuff ready so I can draw and babysit! We will be bringing her with us to the GMM as we do not want to leave her alone yet. The name HOPE. You have to have HOPE. Always.. My first comic was called Have Faith - My second HOPE. I will draw this puppy - I have to it is what I love to do. It has been difficult drawing Hunny but is it getting easier. Hunny can never be replaced. To not draw her would be sad. Everything happens for a reason! Today at 4:00 we get our new puppy!! HOPE This is the photo we saw of her - posted at the shelter. I can not wait to see her in real life!
I will be posting a few photos. The sun is shining! 15 today! I have HOPE!
