After much discussion and searching every couple of days we found Daisy. I will be completely honest, I was afraid to get a puppy- even after the e mail confirmed and the pick up time arranged my stomach in knots.. should we? WE did! Only a few days in and we are all so happy and in love already with our new addition Daisy. The past month and much conversation we decided we can't be afraid, we have a home and love to offer and a desire to have a dog. I tried shelters first, I like to get a dog from a shelter - problem in a house full of animals it is best to introduce a puppy. Puppies at shelters are few and far between. We have Ticky who is our old girl and Scruffy -who already has a huge attitude so a puppy allows everyone to let their guard down - including our cat Darkie who is already stealing food right from Daisy's mouth! I did in fact try to get a dog that was over a year and the owner changed her mind - then just after I arranged to pick up Daisy - I got an e mail saying she had changed her mind and we could have the dog- it was too late I have already confirmed Daisy. Why Daisy? She is so CUTE!
She was born on a farm only one of 3 puppies (not a mill) and pets stores - well come on $800- and up? NOT to mention I love a MUTT!!! All our dogs (except for the 2 great danes) have been mixed breeds. In our experience and that of friends I have heard many stories that other pure breeds all come with their problems. A dog is a dog, mutts love just like every other dog. I found Daisy on Kijijii We did have to drive 2.5 hours one way. Worth every mile.
Daisy is home - first a bath! Living in a barn she smelled like a cow. LOL The amazing thing is she instantly started to scratch the door to go out or whined - I guess because she was alwasy outside - so not one accident! YeHAW !! And today - only day three, she uses the dog door!!! Most importantly - she is very lovable, a tail that wags with just a look at her. They say.... a dog's lifespan is like a twinkle of a star in the universe, the influence of a canine companion on one's soul is forever. This I know to be true.

Soon it will be time to introduce Daisy into the strip now that she is introduced into our hearts. She looks like Rotti - but she is German Shepherd & Lab cross.
Time to do some puppy training and then draw daisy for the first time. :-)
