Yesterday we celebrated ThanksGiving!
Sitting here today I realize what a Thankful dinner it was, nothing fancy, Mom cooked a ham and scalloped potatoes! & made Storm venison stew! Mom kicked me out of the kitchen - "I don't like anyone around when I'm cooking!" - I get it! I don't like anyone around when I'm painting. The occasional distraction is nice, but usually - No. As it happened we had an unexpected guest! A friend of Storms who we all know - at first I was like- Do we have enough? lol Then I remembered my friend Roberts quote.. "more than a mouthful is more than enough to share." something like that.. lol So, we made a place at the table! Here's the thing... his family just last week lost everything to a devastating fire in Keswick. Tom is the owner of the original postcard with the dogs.. 'Grass a day' - It did not get lost in the fire it was in his Barrie apt. Holy cow.. I don't even know what to say, his family has already been through so much, anyhow- I'm thrilled we had an unexpected guest! We all were. It made thanks Giving all the more thankful. I actually baked a carrot cake - stuffed with cream cheese! It was relaxing, fun & stress free. Today I painted a little Give away for facebook, The image you see above. I will draw for the original tomorrow. Why? because I'm thankful I get to paint! I can mail it to someone to make them happy. I can share my gift. Make a stranger smile. Amen Happy Thanks Giving Canada! If loving you is wrong I don’t want to be right...
I thought of love while working on this one. I thought of all the bullshit we are dealing with and how much a plant has come to mean to us. It changed our lives. It eases our son’s pain. It eases the suffering and pain of thousands, millions world wide. It has helped us plant the seed and spread love with drawings worldwide, inspired by it's healing every day. It helps tame my mind, Physically and mentally. I love it. I love the sight, smell, taste & of course smoke and peace it provides me. I love it and the fact that it is female! LOL I get buy with a few of my friends especially my girlfriends! Us ladies must stick together! Today, I went to pick up the drawing to present to Jamie on 4/20. My long time girlfriend Kat - LONG TIME. In our early 20’s we even went to Mexico together - tee hee hee Pre kids, pre hubby! Pre wrinkles, brain surgery and in her case pace maker. ❤ Kat owns and operates her own Gallery and has forever. I helped her open her very first store! She is a hard working woman, I have reminded her over the years of how few people, let alone women - can say they have successfully run their own business for over 25 years!? It is her art, talent, eye for art that has kept her there in my opinion. Making ART look spectacular is her job. For me, she is another level of awesome. I ‘trust’ her with my own work so much, I take it and say: “Go, have fun and call me when done.” That is what she does! I am so excited for this show 4/20! *I would like to add at this time, as soon as Kat learned what I was dong for seriously ill children using Cannabis, she offered to frame the them for free!!! I am very grateful for her donation of time, talent, supplies and TLC. It means the world to me, it also means I get to draw for some great little heros & say thank you to them from ALL of us. I hope to complete one a month. ;) We are blessed and we know it. Kat has 3 handsome, smart sons of her own. No matter how many times we “piss each other off” over the years, Kat and I need to except the fact we will be friends until we are old and grey, probably hugging each other one day and giving each other a kick in the ass with our canes the next. After all, I guess that is what true friends are all about. ;) I look forward to it. So if you have the chance please visit Kat’s Gallery, she frames like no one else I know, and now her store has expanded to carry gifts for EVERY occasion and EVERYONE! Every time I go in I see something else I’d like to get for someone! Kat is also on FaceBook ***One more special lady I’d like to thank this week is LadyBud, an online magazine with the tagline - 'Classin up the joint.' I LOVE IT! AMEN! I loved it the first time I saw it, I think I e mailed them but it as pre-surgery days and I have given up trying to keep track. Cannabis like every other, is very much a male influenced industry. With publications like Ladybud -this class act bunch of hard working ladies, putting it together and promoting - well 'when inspired by LOVE we cannot fail!' Take a look at the page & you can feel the love & more. Very professional. When my friend John asked me for an interview I was thrilled! John, being a real friend- was like having a conversation with someone I trust. I am blessed to have someone that wants to share my passion as much as I do! The article appeared in LadyBud this week and I was blown away ;) I really do look at all of this each time and think - wow! I am so blessed and grateful for people who are sharing. Thank You, to LadyBud for sharing, I’d like to think I do class up the joint! You can read the article below: I love my sisters! Every one! Especially the green. xox <>< http://katsgallery.com/ and you can also find her on FB under Kat's Gallery http://www.ladybud.com/ LadyBud on Facebook http://www.ladybud.com/2014/03/25/georgia-toons-interview/ ![]() Every now and then I find someone or something I like. Something that catches my eye, a comment that someone makes and I think: wow, that was nice, or that was really well put, thoughtful. I am blessed to have many of these comments. ;-) Some thing that makes you smile... The next such product was one of these items that instantly made me smile. I can’t tell you how many times I have knocked over a cup of coffee and it is a cartoonist nightmare! I think it was earlier this year I fried my keyboard! So, I like a good mug! A wide base! Just like my BONG! Then I saw this! A Zang Pipe Mug! < click! Instantly, I loved them - well the ‘look’ anyhow... I wondered how well it would work. Hand crafted clay! (It is a dream of mine to own a pottery wheel and kiln - I STILL remember doing it in HIGH school!) AND a Pipe Mug to boot! LOL- It made me smile. From there I checked out the site, youtube video - made me smile again, and checked out the FB page. Was led to a beautiful little gallery that I shall add to my bucket list! I ‘got a feel’ for the PIPE Mug People ;) so I thought. I e mailed them, told them I liked the mugs, would they be interested in working together - just the thought of the mug made me giggle and would give me a toon idea I’m sure. Well, talk about enthusiasm - I got a phone call only a short while later! It was a fellow from Pipe Mugs and he was happy to talk business! I was thrilled!! - I WAS ALSO drawing - my remembrance day toon and had to get it done. I told him I could not even think of this conversation right now. ;-) Luckily he 'got' that. WE chatted and I instantly also liked the positive energy - by the end of the conversation - my mug was on it’s way! Here is the thing. I did tell him * there is a small detail... IF I DO NOT like your product I will not promote it. It also is hard for me to draw for something I do not believe in.. Simple. A couple of days later and my mug arrived! It is 100% true the instant I saw it, I SMILED! 1st mission accomplished! I was running for the kettle to have a tea, 3 in the afternoon, no coffee for me. I giggle that my first thought was not to medicate- but it wasn’t. I LOVE it as a mug! I have a problem with cold hands and this mug is like a good snuggle! Both hands! It’s nice and big. THEN the test... the one I doubted would really work. Guess what ... I was wrong - Yes. I said it. LOL IT was smooth! I will admit It took me a few tries , got out my hempwick <click ;) and positioned it just right and it is a really NICE smooth pipe! It took several tries, I have mastered it I believe. I am impressed on a several levels. 2 weeks later.. I use it daily still. I can’t wait to try a pipe bowl!! I still LOVE my happy face mug that I have had FOREVER - It’s a McCoy, you can still find them on ebay. Google Happy face mug MCCoy As much as I love my Pipe Mug something was missing... I fixed that! ;) A neat way to display if I do say so myself. *The flower is attached to a pipe cleaner! Good way to keep your mug clean and dust free!!! If it ever gets the chance to get dusty! LOL. They have an awesome collection and are full of ideas! Honestly, I do use my bong the most during the day to medicate and I have been trying drops.. more on that later. But, I love my mug- well enough to use it with out using it! LOL I was inspired by ZANG and the guys who operate it. I thank them. We all need to just smile from time to time. <>< xox Oh! The Carburetor hole, I blow in there before I wash my mug and then use super hot water. Yippie! Give thanks! We are going for Thanks Giving dinner! I invited us to my cousins - LOL, and then e mailed her to see if it was o.k. She said YES!! I am excited! Poppy is coming as well (I’m a bit nervous to leave her a full day still - she is soooo tiny) Well, anyone who knows me KNOWS I’d rather spend 8 hours crafting than 2 hours cooking - So I don’t bake to take - i make! Here’s the thing - my cousin is pretty darn talented and crafty herself (as is her family) so what to make- Pallet craft! Something for fall! This is what I came up with - It is NOT an original Idea I think I came across something like it on PIN But I ‘fine tooned it’. Instructions are under each image ;-) have fun! Happy Thanks Giving! Here it is: Reading about all the politicians that admit to smoking cannabis - is awesome!
Woot woot! Time to come out of the cannabis closet. BUT, at the same time I can’t help but think... well Cannabis has ‘always been illegal’ even if you only did it 35 years ago, and yes you were younger BUT so what! It was illegal (still is to most ) and I bet it was far less that 35 years for many. So to sit in office and judge others, punish others for something you HAVE done it the epitome of Hypocrisy Part of me thinks, WHO cares? Who - the average Joe that has lost his job and family for doing the exact same thing, that is WHO. The AVERAGE person who has been deemed a criminal for exactly the same thing and if your black and in America , and NOT obama - well chances are you have even gone to jail for taking a few tokes. It has effects millions with a criminal record, that can ruin many a future. HOW can anyone sit back and continue to watch what is happening, (anyone in political power) and go along with it? They have other things to focus on - if you can not treat people the same on a basic level than forget the rest. So, as much as I am thrilled, the more that admit the more people will understand that it is nothing but a waste of time and tax payers money to keep prohibition on Cannabis illegal. How many more will come out of the woodwork and admit to Cannabis use.?WHO CARES. DO the right thing! If you have smoked it in the past admit it, teach your children and admit that it never ruined your life or fried your brain - look at all the politicians! Hmmm.. might not want to make that compassion ;). Decriminalize it. < What I wish for. Legalize it. - < what I see happening - so the government can still make $$$ END the lies. A few more names you might know... that HAVE admitted to Cannabis use.. Bruce Babbitt Governor of Arizona, Michael Bloomberg Mayor of New York City Bill Bradley Senator from New Jersey George W. Bush President of the United States Paul Cellucci Governor of Massachusetts Lincoln Chafee Senator from Rhode Island, Lawton Chiles Senator from Florida, Bill Clinton President of the United States Steve Cohen House of Representatives Jack ConwayAttorney General of Kentucky Andrew Cuomo Governor of New York Howard Dean Governor of Vermont, Joseph DeNucci Auditor of Massachusetts Mary Donohue Lieutenant Governor of New York John Edwards Senator from North Carolina Newt Gingrich Speaker of the United States House of Representatives Al Gore Vice President of the United States Gary Johnson Governor of New Mexico Joseph P. Torkildsen Member of the House of Representatives Jesse Ventura and the list goes on............................. xox <>< ![]() Just before the last TY Expo I was contacted by a friend David, asking if I’d consider making Laughing Buddha into glass art? One thing led to another, and two incredibly talented glass artists made a couple of my characters out of GLASS! It’s is officially called a Murrine: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murrine Below are a few photos of Laughing Buddha actually being made. I look at things all the time and often I think, I can do that! I look at how these talented artists make these little works of art and I am BLOWN away! I think ‘How in the heck do they do that’? I have looked at my Laughing Buddha murrine and then the drawing and think HOW the heck does he even figure out HOW to do that!? Patience for sure. I nearly lost them at the EXO and once home, every time I showed someone I was putting them someplace and did not know how to display them... time to bring in an expert. I put all call into Kat @ Kats Gallery (ON FB) and simply said (more or less) I’m making a special Laughing Buddha and this is what I want.. blah blah blah. Do your thing. I believe everyone is an artist in many ways. Kat is an artist when it comes to framing and creativity. Not only did she clearly put thought into it but to place the pieces on silk flowers! It just blends beautifully! Storm commented - “what... awesome, are those the only real flowers” - it really makes you take a closer look at the entire piece. It just is beautiful if I do say so myself! I also asked her to keep FUN! She has known me for almost 30 years so I knew I did not have to worry. I’d rather someone else take it over. I do want to add I have another framer as well, and over the years - when I need something framed and ‘need a mans opinion’ or the drawing for a man, I use my friend Bob Doyling (also on FB & a very talented photographer!) Both artist in their own right, and as different as acrylic and water color! Variety is the spice of life! This laughing Buddha speaks for itself. It is a 4 artist combination! Including Kat. It IMO is the perfect way to display my one of a kind prize possessions ;-) Now everyone can see them, not touch, drop or lose them! It hangs in my kitchen and so far not one person has walked past without commenting! Another Idea I had (after) was to have the glass and then have me and the artist in a photo cut into the matt above! NEXT year! The artists that made my Murrine are: Jerry Kelly, he made Laughing Buddha and is in the photos below and the Zen Kitty creator is Stephen Boehme! They are both on FB and both doing some incredible work. Sorry, It is nor will it ever be for sale. I was so honored by the gentlemen that made these you have no idea. Flattered, honored and humbled! LOL Do you have any creative way to display your Murrine? My Laughing Buddha Murrine & Zen Kitty may be purchased through Murrine Scene You can find them on FB or @: https://www.facebook.com/murrine.scene?fref=ts xox <>< Have a Peek at the slide show below to see details and How Laughing Buddha was made! ![]() I was hanging laundry this morning thinking - this is AWESOME!! LOL - Hanging laundry. Last year I was so sick and so bad with balance I could not hang laundry (kinda tricky as it is at the top of my deck stairs) without fear of falling. Today I am HAPPY to be hanging laundry! Who knew! ha ha ha Everyday I feel a bit better! The only medication I take is Cannabis. It does not stop what is happening IT makes it LIVABLE - yep, and thank God for THC - even laughable at times! I will tell you what else recently has been helping me.. my Da Vinci Vaporizer! I love it. We have a volcano- which Storm uses every day while at home, I prefer a bong for quick results and to try to calm the twitch when at full power.. BUT when I am out and about, NOT a joint smoker... I have never smoked cigarettes and honestly I don’t even like to see someone with a cigarette in their mouth, especially beautiful young ladies, so I use my one hit dug out and quickly put it away - the smoking apparatus looks like a cigarette - the last thing I want to do is set an example that smoking cigarettes is o.k. - lol even thought I am not. I have wanted a vaporizer for years! A portable one. I have a Plenty (also like) but the cord - well not so portable. The best place to get anything - IMO is at the EXPO, show prices and such a variety - wow.. that being said over the years I ALMOST bought a few, I say almost as they are not cheap - $100 and up - but over the years I have seen and heard many people say things like - “I bought that and it lasted a few weeks” or “it broke, it does not work properly, it’s too hard to clean..” blah blah blah Storm bought one last year and it lasted 2 weeks - $150 up in smoke ;) it was some pen thing. So I was cautious. This EXPO I got smart! LOL - I asked everyone: Do you have a portable vaporizer and what it is - do you like it ? Hands down the answer was Da Vinci. The other in all fairness I kept hearing about was called a 'SOLO'. I know nothing about it, you can search online. So, I am sharing that with you. I’ve had mine now for about a week and I LOVE it. I am using it several times a day - so easy with it being in my pocket- I get so busy I forget to medicate and then my twitch is out of control, staying medicated I am feeling better rested all day long. We went out on the weekend and I used my Da Vinci walking down the street and no one had a clue. I don’t know about you but when not feeling well the last thing anyone needs is judgmental looks. It looks like a walkie-talkie/phone my husband keeps joking. We went on a little road trip on the weekend and Storm was in pain and forgot to bring anything (yes, it happens) Lucky for us I had the Da Vinci! It was only loaded once, but both he and I were able to use it and got relief! Easy to clean and load, small, discrete. I AM NOT ashamed of my medicine, I have respect for others around me. For a student, professional, someone who wants to medicate and it be no ones business it is awesome. We don’t go around shouting and taking out pain pills in public, NOT everyone agrees and to force it on them is wrong, it is no different that forcing on religion. You can lead a human to knowledge but you can’t make him think. ;-) This is NOT a paid for advertisement. It is me sharing my experience on a great product. I know very few of us have money to BURN. The Da Vinci I have below retails for about $260 in a few stores - online and with shipping probably the same.. but shop around and check out the website. I am pretty sure they will be at the next EXPO as well, but I am seeing them everywhere or you can always pick up one on line. Any product like this is an investment in my health. ❤ http://www.davincivaporizer.com/davinci-vaporizer/ I also have a friend who has one - I did not know, and he said he had a minor problem, contacted them and the problem was fixed no questions asked. He said the customer service was awesome. So, my days are easier when out, I now medicate whenever I need to. It comes with two little container for oil but I pack them with bud and have it ready to go if I need more. Thank you Da Vinci for easing my pain easily, comfortably and discretely <3 Storm is also sold, said he will be getting one! He wants green. Go figure ;-) ;-)) I feel so good I’m going to go hand another load of laundry! LOL I am sure in this heat the time I took to write this my laundry is dry. xox <>< ![]() Music for your blog reading enjoyment: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dzs1K3caXJk Wow, this cartoon smacked me right in the head ;-) Awesome. It started with a joke from my best bud Cathy.♥ I was stressed wondering what to draw for 4/20?! The universal day of Celebration for Cannabis!!! A Plant. Grown from a seed. Made by *GOD. (*original patent holder) Medical, Recreational, Hemp, Food, Fuel.. It's the day and I want to say THANK YOU! I have said it so many times, I thank God daily for this Plant! Give us this Day our daily Bud... <3 Wow. YES, I read recently how powerful that prayer is; Give us this dayour daily bread, -not thanks for yesterday, or make sure I have it tomorrow. Give us THIS day. Focus on today. .. and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and that ^ ^ ^ That simply put means ^ ^ ^ : PEACE, PEOPLE! Religion aside... who can argue with those lines? How else are we going to get ahead, clearly WAR is not the answer! Thank you Marvin, now in my head for the rest of the day. People all around the world who suffer over a plant. A plant less toxic than many others, proven helpful to ease pain, yet illegal and lives destroyed because of it. WTF? O.M.God. How disappointing. A PLANT. While others rape, kill, abuse, terrorize, suffer & starve needlessly... enough with the bullshit distraction. FOCUS on the REAL problems at hand. Rise Up people! Speak up! <3 Celebrate this Plant! Let it be a symbol of change. It all starts with a SEED!!! Life. So.. Yes! Give us this Day our daily bud, and thank you Lord for it! I do! Everyday! Keeping the Love of my life happy - How could I not give thanks? Celebrate 4/20, Spread Peace and Love !!! - there are already enough assholes doing the opposite;-) xox <>< If the only prayer you ever say in your entire life is thank you, it will be enough. ![]() I believe that we must give thanks. Every day, all the time. I wake up and I say thank you. Really, I did not use to. When I woke up and never had a problem with my health, it never occurred to me to say: Thank you. Now with each new day I am given - I say, thank you. Yesterday was a very bad day. I have to learn to listen to my own body and do what it says like rest, relax and sleep... when it tells me to stop - I have to learn to stop, take a break. My pain had me in tears and in bed on and off though out the day. My twitch never stopped, I caved and curled up under a blanket for most part of the day. Both my guys aware, left me pretty much alone. I was not in a very good mood by the end of the day... not miserable - simply exhausted. I did draw the above cartoon. I force myself to draw everyday. I am thankful to be able to sit and draw. I will use it to thank people. The little worms are: Hear no, See no and Speak no... something else I try to practice daily. If you are here and still breathing, heart beating - that is reason alone to GIVE THANKS! Say it now! Out loud! I am thankful to be here! I saw Brave Mykayla mom's has a new tattoo... "With every heart beat there is hope." ♥ Exactly. GIVE THANKS!!! |
