A mural! I’m going to paint a mural in Toronto’s newest Vapor lounge! On Lakeshore. I was asked this morning! HOW EXCITING. I have been given free rein to do what I want. So I’m going to do a big feel good Happy Hippie Cultivating Compassion image that puts people in a good mood. Fun to look at while they relax and medicate. I’m painting a Giant Laughing Buddha in 'The Ganga Yoga area' - also something I look forward to trying. I was on ‘Cityline’ years ago with a few murals I did - babies rooms, I’ve done a few restaurants over the years and had much fun when I did a huge MURAL in a Doggy Daycare... Cultivating Compassion, Cannabis oh, I CAN’T WAIT!
I’ve never been to a vapor lounge so that too in itself will be an experience. The store is upstairs and the Lounge downstairs - I hear an elevator for medicinal patients is being put into the building. I am excited to be a part of it. I figure I will take photos as the job progresses and post them to give a little - sneak peek - hee hee.. You never know who or what you might see ;-)
Other than that a new toon.. I read it and it just hit me..We have a greater chance of dying eating a peanut that we do if you smoke Cannabis. I can not tell you how much it eases my mind as a mother that I do not have to worry about my son having an over dose with his medicine. NOT to mention all the other side effects.
Don’t believe me? Research it.
I was also blessed today with my student, Lucy. She is 12 (13 in Korea) and is here to learn English for a few years, hard as she left all her family behind. I was asked to teach her art to help her with her English and have a bit of fun. I enjoy our lessons and trying to figure out words. We made sunny little bumble bee flower vases. We always have a few laughs. She is here for 2 hours and the time flies! Usually I look at the clock and realize there is only 10 minutes left. I don’t officially teach anymore but I figure God has a plan.. every now and then I am asked and If I can teach a kid & I usually do.
I wish I would have had more people spend craft time with me as a kid.
I had one aunt Marnie that did with my drawing. I am sure she had no idea of how much it was appreciated. To this day I thank her. Again I wonder - did God place me here for her. I think not, he placed her here for me. Remind me to have fun and make a funky bumble bee! All else can wait. Put a smile on a kids face. A couple hours a week is all it takes. For the record... Tequila and Scruffy also enjoy her company ;-)
What a great day! Already drawing in my mind.
