And that is what I did all day.  As I drifted off last night, not quite sure what I was thinking when this cartoon 'appeared' (hee hee hee)  on my mind. The same question - one solution and we just can't seem to quite get it right.  WORK TOGETHER for the greater good. 

RANT.  From the heart.  
The toon above I was saving for Valentine's day - but wanted to share it tonight. I know it should probably say 'One Plant, One People and One Planet' - but Planet sounds too distant for me. ONE PLACE, Right here, right now.  
One Love. Not just for the plant - for each other ;) 
This past month I have had 3 different times when someone has involved me in a dispute- that has nothing to do with me.  I AM a  Mom, Cartoonist, Cannabis activist, I draw in hopes of educating Parents of very ill children. I am very grateful that my work is getting out there, Thank God. Sometimes  I feel overwhelmed -  not from drawing, but from life and other distractions and yes people forget that we are still dealing with STUFF.  Our son and his pain,  Cannabis is making our life easier but the facts are - our son has a progressive  bone disease and it tears at my heart.  NOT one days goes by where it does not cross my mind, especially when I see him in pain - even now with cannabis. I have seen my baby, child, son suffer and know he will continue to do so, so really ...  REALLY!? 
Before you involve me into 'he said - she said'  PLEASE don't. 
I don't have the time or energy for it. 
Today I had to have several botox injections in the side of my face and head from a very painful, $#@!& twitch that does not go away. I judge people on how they treat me. I now try to treat everyone on how I'd like to be treated too. I have to work equally as hard and it is a pleasure to do so.  I want quality in my life not quantity.
Don't we all not have enough stuff going on??  The thing is  I care about everyone that has involved me in these 'disputes' - so It can be a bit stressful.  Added stress I do not need. 

DRAW and think about the positive people who are focusing on what is important - what brought us all here together from all over the world! How cool to have people seeing message  in Norway, Spain, Japan, Africa! WOW! The internet ROCKS!  I have FB friends from all over the world who e me and tell me how much they like my cartoons and messages.  This is what I need to focus on. We get one chance and I for one do not want to waste any time on anything negative!   
Because I LOVE what and who I am doing all this for. I AM sure of what I am doing. 
I'd like to end on a beautiful e mail from a friend from the U.S.A who I met through FB, with a beautiful family that works hard, has beautiful kids and like us - she just wants to use her medicine and be left alone!!! No crimes being committed. Also -just like many like to go home and unwind with a glass of wine people like to unwind with Cannabis and for millions of others it is MEDICINE,  helping ease their pain and suffering! 
" I know they are priceless to you, as they should be...  but your art makes it easier to accept the pain, sadness, confusion, the why me's, and the truth that so many suffer much greater than myself.  I hope your day is lovely and I hope you know, realllllly know that you help others , help themselves...even if and when we can't seem to do it ourselves. So I hope this finds you happy, healthy and renewed. And I hope I fall back asleep...lol...I look forward to the expo more and more everyday! I'm thinking I could spend a million dollars up there!! I do remember that disputes come because we all care and we all have hearts and we all get hurt..  One people, One Plant, One Place.  xox <><

I continue to read articles like this and can only shake my head and HOPE for some new changes. It does seem like many Canadians are NOW opening their eyes. S.H is the wolf.

Boy oh boy yesterday was a blue day, or GREY I should say! TODAY the sun is shining and the sky is blue! I woke yesterday by my twitch and it never let up all day.  It is very hard to ignore.  I think that knowing I go see my Dr this week is what kept me from being in bed all day yesterday.  Instead I cleaned my studio! I re-zened, figured out how it will best work for me and  just opened up the room. Opened up my mind.  I did not draw but waited till this morning when just looking at this office makes me want to draw - all day! God willing 

I also made the decision that each day I draw for me, then I draw for others. The drawing for me are usually Cultivating Compassion, Laughing Buddha or just an idea I have. 
LOL- I told Storm I have a new goal - I want to win the nobel peace prize! I want to try to get people thinking and bring more peace!  He agreed  and said  "its a good goal to have mom, and  I'll nominate you each year!  Might take a while..."  LOL - I love my son. 
I am working on a drawing job right now that is exciting and fun for me! I'm drawing Puppies!! For an amazing 'product' - I am learning so much - it is making me a better cartoonist that is for sure! I am also so thankful for the work. I only take drawing jobs that I like - I will not add stress to my life from drawing. 
Todays toon - I get many requests from growers and grow shops on FB and thought I should do some special for them.  I have met a few growers over the years and when I see their stuff I imagine how the heck did you get all that in here? !!

Those train cars!? How the heck did they do that and no one knew? I am sure they were a litle bigger scale than my toon ;-) Cannabis is NOT going away anytime soon. So why not legalize it and  start to make some money off of it to help all our economies.  Seed for thought. Time to draw! 

I love to draw classic toys. Had all three.   I was going to talk about Monsanto - but have decided that today I need a break from ... life.  A good day to hang out with my guys, read, draw and meditate and contemplate about the week ahead.

Storm and I had a great day when we went out - of course. We met the owner of Burger's Priest who reminded me a bit like my laughing Buddha - he has the nicest smile and was of course a very nice person.  He has worked hard to be where he is and it is paying off. The new location was packed! I of course had my mind set on the Tower of Babel - LOL what was I thinking!? The 3 guys beside me were amazed and kept commenting on my attempt to eat the burger, I was not getting full of the flavor I was getting physically full and was not able to eat it all.  I did bring it home and Norm enjoyed the rest - his first experience with Burgers' priest and - it was cold, squashed and a little soggy and he LOVED it! LOL It is comfort food on a new level. ALSO much easier for us to drive to. http://theburgerspriest.com/  Perhaps the drive.. too easy- I'm already craving!

Today I am drawing some Cannabis cartoons. I have to take a break from time to time - not from the drawing but the frustrating facts of Cannabis - and I don't  normally feel that way - it is a BEAUTIFUL, wonderful plant! Without the Politics.  I guess it is when I get concerned for my own son. If I let the 'what ifs' take over I'd be done. So, time to take a bit of a break from FB, especially with all the political news at the moment- I know who I would vote for IF I was an American;  all I can do is hope and pray  that they get the best president they can that will listen to his people, for the people and by the people. I look forward to the first woman president - and to those of you who say it will never happen - they use to say that not too long ago. I know when S.H. (you know who...) was elected  I felt discouraged and worried, but I still believe in our people and yes I also still believe others in government.  BUT I know many Americans who will fear for their own lives.  Very ill, already suffering American's, in America who will live in fear because of their own president, and I don't just mean a few.. I believe many will feel that way. Death penalty for Cannabis? The U.S.A government has the patent on Cannabis confirming they believe it is medicine -  and  one running says he does not believe in Medicinal Cannabis ?  More than the cannabis issue what does this tell you about Compassion ?  EVEN if not ill.. image if you smoke a little cannabis and your lives destroyed. 
FOR all of us WHO have,  we know that is wrong.  If you have not, then really - you do not know and should do some real research before you judge others. 

To BRAD PITT : Oh! I am so disappointed in you! YOU KNOW! COME ON! Saying it turned you into a donut - I bet you were smoking it since the beginning of your career - if not sooner - your 'donut period' was not the cannabis but the stress - said it before and I will say it again - chances are it's the person NOT the plant.  Now - should you want to apologize feel free to call me - we can discuss it over - brownies and umm you can pose for a toon. Today is a day we let a rodent decide our future for the next 6 weeks!? Hello? 
HELL No! I am deciding right now that SPRING is around the corner! YEHAW! 
Can't wait - GREEN! I need the green the leaves, the grass (on the ground) the buds 
(on the trees) Hee hee hee  I can not complain we have had such a great winter so far, well great from me - not for ski companies, snowmobile or ice fishermen to name a few. 
I can not deny I love my Canadian summers.  
So regardless of what Puxatonic- what ever his name is - he can keep his opinions to it's furry self!  BUT.. for you winter lovers - I thought it only fair to draw both toons..  
Today we are going to visit the priest (wink, wink,) The day will be full of great conversation with my son a nice drive and sunshine, not to mention the ultimate comfort food.  We were going to visit a compassion club but I'd rather wait a week, soon the twitch will be tamed..
 ;-) After I do I will blog about it, I want to blog about a few as a few people have asked my opinion on clubs. I will share. Let's try to make this journey easier for those who are - sick and tired of being sick and tire. Been there done that.

My friend Todd.
Another friend I have met and come to know through e mail is Todd. If you were to look at Todd  - yes you would think ‘Hippie’ - probably because of his hair and yes that is about it, that is the only thing that makes Todd look like a hippie and if people judge him on that it is their loss.  I have come to know Todd and his ladies as I call them, his beautiful wife Kerry and his two (also beautiful) daughters for over a year now.

I first met Todd at the Treating Yourself Expo - a great place to meet many who believe in the same idea. Todd is impressive to say the least, TRUST me he is far from a stereo typical stoner/hippie. He works 2 jobs is a husband, soccer dad, and a Cannabis Activist. He is an average, hard working, proud American who is determined to make changes and faces more obstacles  than many of us.  At first I admit I just thought he was running a club that documents different strains to assist people - his own research project - but then I listened to him on a radio interview and thought:

 Todd is doing - and $$$paying much more than many of us and he is doing it 
ALL BY THE BOOKS! - He is growing medicinal cannabis, playing by all the rules including TAX stamps and the additional $ for this luxury... and it is costing him a fortune:  We got our second order of $3,494.40 in NC Marijuana Tax stamps today. Now total in last few months has been $6,988.80 sent to Department of Revenue. This time order was correct and stamps are labeled at 28 grams each.

Todd is also opening a lounge and smoke shop, a note from one of his e mails here is how he is going about it: Building inventory for the lounge and smoke shop right now.  I have my sale tax # and filed first sale tax on 1-7-2012 which was $239 and have to file every month. So now besides the $3,900 that I send in Quarterly they get a monthly sales tax too. I also had to file for Other Than Tobacco Products License and done it in Nov. Just talked to the Department of Revenue last week and they said I need to send a $2500 bond and two more forms to get this License. Once this is done I will get my license and also have to file a monthly 12.8% tax on products sold. Money, Money, Money is all they want but are I am more then happy to pay if they let me and leave me alone. So I will be paying 6.75% sales tax monthly, 12.8% OTTP tax monthly and my Quarterly of $3,900 and all recorded by the NC Department of Revenue. This I am doing to be able to show them solid and recorded evidence of revenue brought in. Once I receive this last license I can then get a building and open the lounge. One building I wanted already rented out. I want my ducks to be in a row before opening...

WHEW! Imagine having to go through all that! Over and over again...Todd is tireless. He promotes, talks openly and does not back down. He has earned the right to be where he is- ask him he knows how to tell you to go about business the proper way - he could be like the many who grow illegally - but he is not - he is making it hard for the government to be the hypocrites that they have become.  I wish there were more Todd. The above cartoon says it all for me. I have listened to so many people who are very sick and tell me their Dr. won't even consider cannabis.  If you go prepared - I suggest you print out information and provide links, research and studies regarding  Cannabis and how it can help your condition. ALSO print out a few side effects of pre-scribed medications - and why you DON'T want to take them.
 I have been blessed - I have great Dr.s  that clearly put the care of the patient and understanding concerns above their own.  I can imagine (no,  I know) how frustrating this is.  Being forced to feel like a criminal and continue to break the law. If you are like us you will break the law because you KNOW what Cannabis is doing for you and you will probably continue to use it illegally - rather than to keep looking for another Dr.  If that is the case I too understand. Especially when sick and tired of being sick and tired..  BUT  if your Dr. says no then at least question it, you deserve a proper explanation from your "professional care giver" They also need to have something to think about. I am convinced change is in the air, the way only it will happen is to get everyone talking and thinking!  Especially OUR Dr.s.  I do ask that you do not disrespect them.. most have worked hard to get where they are and deserve to be there, and just like the  MILLIONS of us have been mislead & misinformed. They cannot continue to deny the OBVIOUS facts. 

* side note.. yesterday someone made a comment that honestly - hurt. 
"Georgia Toons advertisements are cute and contain jokes, it goes over people's heads that they are truly ads for her website, and artwork that she sells. Just forget that she is allowed to advertise here."  My cartoons advertisements?? To get people to come to my site to buy stuff? Goes over peoples heads?? It had me think -is that what people really feel I am doing??  Am I not permitted to try to earn an income like everyone else? What many do not realize is no one pays me for my Cannabis cartoons.  I just started to get paid from one magazine I am in because he feels I deserve to get paid, but most do not. I am o.k. with that, it is more important to me that the message gets out. *I am very appreciative to those who do purchase my comic and the occasional item it shows me support and  it is very rewarding for me to help my hubby with the bills from time to time.  As MUCH as I LOVE what I do and WHO I do it for -  it is work. It takes research, time & thought - to try to get a message out with one drawing  - one that hopefully will appeal to others so that they might share.  GET people thinking! Make them aware that there are many children as well that are benefiting from Cannabis use as well as the millions of adults. I am PASSIONATE about what I am doing.  I was angry at the person who made that comment - he has since apologized.  Anyhow, already this a.m. I woke up thought - he has made me a better person, I was more determined to draw.Then  I logged onto FB and was overwhelmed with the support. I am ashamed that I doubted for even a split second. Rest assured I will not again.  Faith restored - pencils sharpened Brush dipped!   I have more cartoons to finish!XOX <><
