Is there any better way to spend a day then to stare at a deer (preferably living), bear or cute squirrel, nature at it's finest! Give thanks to the many talented photographers who share magnificent images of snails with raindrops. No words.
To study & stare into the eyes of the animals is heart melting for moi.
Relaxing & meditating. Nature never goes out of style.
Nature never goes out of stye - it becomes prohibited.
It becomes prohibited and we got to jail.. over plants. This is the biggest crime.
I'd get it if we were using it to harm others. Cannabis helps. It has never killed.
I do get the NEED to prohibit some medications like fentanyl, read about opioid death increase in Canada - it is shocking, it was for me.
Reading and understanding the facts and then knowing cannabis has never caused a death infuriates me. I need nature.
Friends in jail, children suffering, children dying, police raiding. BULLSHIT.
In Canada & the USA, anywhere in the world... You can not hide the the sun, moon or truth.
When 'Health Boards' are focusing on music videos - don't get me wrong- I don't agree- lets not get down and boogie with plants' unless out in the wild- it would be hard for me to resist. :) Address it and MOVE on, now - it's just a distraction.
What can possibly compare these days to some of the statements out of Donalds mouth? Asking Canadians repeatedly, to discard our MEDICINE in Canada as though it were cat feces. It's degrading we continually are faced with these distractions when all we want to do is medicate ourselves with plants and MOVE on.
On a positive note, Linda was over my twitch was 'very busy', I had 4 bongs hits in a row just to sit and have a somewhat relaxed conversation - it's been a busy week. She commented the improvement. Time to make some edibles.
I need some nature, rest.. sleep lol
I'm happy to admit it & I'm bringing Poppy cause I like good back rub.
hee hee hee. Sketchbook and I'm set.
Nature never goes out of style... it becomes prohibited or we kill it.
I've recently learned about Ultra Health in the USA, through radio interviews, news clippings and the special on Weediquette * POT Powwow, which I highly recommend you watch so you understand what I'm blogging about. Ultra Healths CEO, Duke Rodriguez is one of the busiest gentlemen, literally a 'trail blazer' if you ask me (every pun intended) in the cannabis industry who appears from radio interviews to be having difficulties with such ironies & issues as limiting plant counts. Who is this helping at this point - patients? Keeping prices at a premium? I don't pretend to understand our own policies so I won't try to even grasp American 'pot politics'. One state it's legal with conditions, another medical, one illegal- YIKES! Where do I plan my next vacation?? Albuquerque?
Duke was questioned for a recent music video that was filmed in the Ultra Health Grow facility, I read the article before viewing the 'song and was horrified - thinking to myself... is there naked women rolling & bouncing in bud? Scantily clad teens twerking while trimming? I couldn't imagine the Duke I know going that direction... there was nothing like that at all and to be completely level I enjoyed the video- it allowed me to see exactly where this medicine is grown! What a view. Being a Canadian already preparing for winter - I think I might have even enjoyed it more than a local, the tune truly 'catchy. I didn't understand all the fuss - are there not more prevalent issues. Something about card delays for patients.. it reminded me of our own Health Canada and kitty littler distractions. The only thing I knew about Albuquerque before witnessing that secnic video was; it is where Bugs Bunny should have taken that left turn.
What I have learned about Utra Health: They are trying to finally help the North American tribes in the process, Wow. Helping, Lifting Up Higher... so to speak.
Duke was interviewed:
What drew you to working with Native American tribes?
We recognized from day one that if anybody's going to positively utilize cannabis in this country, it's native people. They have many competitive advantages—they own land, they have water and access to power, and they have a historical and cultural tie to cannabis and natural healing. They also have a distribution network—smoke shops, reservations, and casinos across the country. It's clear that cannabis will bring what casinos originally did for tribes to the next level. We started communicating with and educating tribes across the country. It's a long process.
We are all aware of the problems around the world with indigenous people; used and abused. Fact. To turn around a situation - where let's face it everyone is going to benefit- Native Indians in particular, as Duke states in the Pot powwow special "We're not providing them with jobs, were providing them with a future".
I agree! It's about time!!!
I hope someone is paying attention and we can possibly plant the same seeds/ideas up here with our own indigenous people - Lord knows they deserve a break.
Watch the video, its an education.. the policy regarding 'pure blood'? WTF?
Just one more way for government to pass JUDGEMENT on people who have already been stripped of pretty much everything. Except their heritage.
I do believe Ultra Health is providing more than cannabis - they are providing hope.
Ending on a positive note, I communicated with Duke before I was aware of any of this.. he contacted me requesting work - and like I do with many people, we exchanged several e mail, joked around & became friends. ;)
I'm sure other days he thinks I'm a never ending stream of questions and comments.
How could I not be?? How exciting is this?
I think it is some of the best news I've heard to date regarding growing cannabis!
The more I've learned more delighted I am to call him my friend.. he has inspired a few drawings. He also makes me smile.
I foresee some drawing work down the line...
You never know what tomorrow will bring.
Look at the direction cannabis is going now!
What brings you peace? For me its painting.
Painting that I would not be able to accomplish without cannabis.
I have arthritis in one hand.. Cannabis keeps me painting & smiling.
I have over 30 years personal experience off and on. How about you?
I'm on a peace seeking mission.. I'm making it happen.
What brings me peace I will seek because IT is seeking me. Finally!
Peace and some fun.
Cannabis, painting and more.. (some things I do keep to myself, believe it or not! )
hee hee hee
Listening to 'Change is gonna come - by Blind Boys of Alabama!
Cannabis is medicine.
Tomorrow, Cannabis in NM.
Battle for the Bay is the weekend!! Our son Storm is chairman for Muskies Canada Barrie division, and this weekend coming is the 'Battle for the Bay!' One lucky fisherman - or woman will bring home a hand painted, original 'Welcome' sign!
There are many wonderful prizes- but only one painted fish! lol
I do plan on selling the other two, I'm always asked, so why not.
I will paint one for myself too - a multi colored 'Welcome' Musky.
This is a creative break for me- I turn up my iPod.. Gerry Rafferty.. gets me going- and I just dab... with a brush. lol Up close it looks like scales. I medicate as well. My mind wanders and I have FUN.. amused, entertained and left to daydream. Boy can I day dream. lol
Especially when painting standing at my easel.
I 'get lost' & love it... or, am I found?
hmmmmmmmm... stuff to ponder.
I left it to the last few days as usual but they look terrific!
Want one? Come out and catch (and release) a Musky!
You might win a fish, lure or trophy!
Not to mention the fun you will have. It was how big? hee hee hee
I believe Storms biggest was 56' to date.. There will be food!! Fun & fish!
If you are a fisherman/woman you can still attend!
I'm looking forward to it! I'll be painting on site.
Back to it! Then a new cannabis cartoon for tomorrow.
Have a creative day! Do what you love- time flies!
As they say on Instagram.. happy Caturday! Perfect timing as I painted this last night!
Kat & I go way back as you might know (if you read this blog faithfully- lol) she's been framing my art for over 30 years.. we met many moons ago, became friends and still remain. Not nearly as close as we once were - but that's life.. if we only kept 'old friends close' we would never meet new people. We grew.
I wanted to thank her, she'd done a lot of framing & does give me a deal.. ;) perks with 30 years of service, friendship, bitching, crying, laughing.. etc! lol I usually just send her the work and say frame it. I trust her experience. Her ART.
I broke a cardinal rule with Kat recently - it's my own fault. In my excitement I asked her to frame something for someone - 'they would be good for it!' Turns out they might have changed their mind as Kat's not heard anything now that the piece has been ready a few weeks - oh well.
Frig, lesson learned, I apologized, it's not how we work after 30 years. It's all good! I bought the piece off Kat- for a deal - lol! I will hang it in my office as a reminder. Looking forward to it actually. 'Don't fall for it, don't take it personal Georgia. Lesson learned.'
Kat knows actually it was more than not picking the piece up.. I was hurt' I'm so silly sometimes I could smack myself. People change their mind, even about my art. lol
Deal with it, move on and focus on what is important. If I 'quit' every time I had a setback, I would have stopped drawing years ago.
This past few days I've had a few personal set backs.. cry or draw.
I choose to paint.
Recently, I noticed on Johns page (of Skunk Magazine) they asked who is a 'Canadian Activist' who has made a difference.. lol - I didn't see my name. I thought- I've been drawing almost 10 years now about cannabis awareness but can't seem to be 'recognized as contributing'? LOL
If I let that shit stop me I would have given up long ago.
I draw for the love of my son - first and foremost- I don't need any recognition beyond that. I get it. I'm mentioning this because I commented on a few people I thought qualified:
Ted, Gail (R.I.P), Owen, John, Kirk, Kelly, Adam.. then I signed off and thought - that was stupid- you fell into the trap that you don't like yourself!
There are too many to mention! I don't want anyone to feel left out- like I usually do.
To the point, in the future I won't name anyone.
Al Graham, Dori, Patricia, that grumpy old guy- I can't remember his name.. it hit me after I 'hit comment' .. they have been trying for as long as I have been watching and also don't seem to get any recognition. Thankfully they don't stop.
Just one person I might of forgot - made me think 'this is bullshit'.
For everyone out there who feels they are not being 'appreciated' - FUCK it!
Keep going! FORWARD. I appreciate you! Tell them you appreciate all they have done.
I don't need a magazine article/facebook comment to validate what I do.
I draw for Love. That is enough.
On a positive note!
My hair looks great! Holy, it has a lot of silver streaks, I like it short- why do I resist! lol
& I have a new framed artwork to hang! LOL - Still ONE of my personal favourites.
;) & Im drawing a new cannabis cartoon! lol
BRING this day on!
Playing with paint, these halloween warm ups.
Count Dabula... a happy vampire at that- he needs cannabis for PTSD, all he would witness in his life/death time. Would it be healthier to hand out cannabis instead of candy? I don't know .. watch a documentary on sugar and then let me know your thoughts.
That's all I want you to od by the way.. is think.
I never encourage 'kids' to use cannabis.. don't use anything.. that would be powerful.
That goes for everyone I guess. Sadly, most kids start with alcohol and it becomes the norm into adulthood. Some can handle alcohol many can not.
Please try to educate on cannabis anyway you can, the sooner the madness over it- is over- the better for the people, plant and planet.
Perhaps a little more halloween fun in the next few days but my mind is also on more serious topics.. after I cut my hair and cut lose all the crap holding back with it. lol
I get like Samson.. cut my hair and feel stronger. Bring it on baby!
I actually thought of a Donald editorial(s) My gosh he is a cartoonist dream but, the thought of having to stare at that 'mug' makes me sick to my stomach.. so we shall see.
To draw successfully, I feel you must research a bit... at least.
I like to draw people I admire.. some people I'm not so sure about so I just say 'no' and wait. Time will tell.
Some I think of after they die, even then it must be someone who has touched my heart more than my head, why waste your time thinking about assholes, the world is full of them.
Bring on the awesome, simple, wonderful, creative, talented, honest people trying make a difference!! Yes Haaaw! lets get this day started!
I decided to include cannabis in most drawings if not everyone from now on.
Plant the seed, bring constant awareness to this plant.
Feeling slightly festive- having bit of Halloween fun in-between other works.
Yesterday, I sent the day on a special paining doing much thinking... cannabis heals, it brings peace. Advocates who have died and were passionate about cannabis and the education of it. Thank you. Educate anyway you can.
Storm has a PAX portable vaporizer btw and likes it.. me too.
I wonder if they have them in purple. ;)
Tomorrow I'm getting a hair cut! It's time. Chop it off. lol
You know what that means ladies... big change is in the air.
The mood has hit. I am woman hear me roar! I am worthy!! lol!
I'm painting a new poster to hang in new zen den " Zen as Fuck"
hee hee hee
Time for me to go paint a fish! or two...
Do what you love to do!
Tomorrow Count Dabula... with cannabis.
More research is needed.. Please, every time I hear this my eyes roll.
Yes, I agree research is needed and let's see what plants may be used to help whom..
Using the term as an excuse is another story.
Research? Lets start with this:
Read this interesting article about a cannabis plant that was recently discovered.
"Archaeologists are hailing the discovery of an "extraordinary cache" of cannabis found in an ancient burial in northwest China, saying that the unique find adds considerably to our understanding of how ancient Eurasian cultures used the plant for ritual and medicinal purposes."
It dates back as long as some refuse to acknowledge.
No one has ever been documented of dying from cannabis alone, in history.
Compare that with the number of alcohol related deaths.. are you?
Think about it.
NOW before one more kid dies.. before one more kid is arrested.
This conversation should end now..
OBVIOUSLY DRUGS ARE NOT TESTED the amount of time cannabis has been documented with the number of related deaths that continually happen throughout history with man made medications. Lets start this 'research' with Fentanyl.
It is insanity & it is ALL because of CONTROL.. controlling people.
Punishing people for what they enjoy.
Jail =control & $$$.
& now drug manufacturing. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Its on the way. Its happening so be it.
Hopefully it will done with with thoughts for others in some way..
anyway that helps to improve better the lives of people.
STOP arresting over personal cannabis consumption & growing.
It's not easy, most people won't dedicate the time or money & would rather go to an easier safe source. Make it affordable.
Make it available to those who need it like young patients with seizures.
Educate about it. It's just a plant. A magnificent plant!!
Google: Kids who use medical cannabis.
There are so many now you can find out about... you bet their parents did 'research'.
I don't need to, I have living proof. Thank God.
* Please call it "cannabis" as it is the PROPER name.
Plant. Grown for centuries to help humans.
Which no one apparently (I'm sure some cave man might have choked on a bud) has ever died from.
Start there for research.
