I am painting for someone- it's taking much of this past week! I'll be finished today.
Later today - is BERRY picking day!
Black Berry pie day tomorrow! hee hee

I use to like 'Not my Circus' - Not my monkies.. this NOW. is most appropriate.
We all have our own little coops.. when it comes to watching covid around the world -this is what I have to remind myself. I just need to focus on my own coop, chickens - keep them healthy & happy -running around the pen chasing bugs. Gloria (who turned out to be our black ROOSTER -hahaha) loves to get a worm and run making a real chatter around the yard- it cracks us up - every time. It's that simple to laugh & de distracted by chickens- I don't want to watch the rest of the world.. self destruct.
One for me and one for - I don't know. It was just as easy for me to paint 2 of the exact same thing, side by side.. I might continue this & sell or give some smaller ones away.
Inspired by God the bible yesterday & proverbs -I came up with a sweet litle gardeners prayer and I'm painting it today on this drizzly afternoon (very happily) as awesome as this wet summer has been - it has been brutal on my arthritis, do not take things for granted - like putting on socks painfree. I have not been exploring as much and that gets me down but we've also BEEN BUSY. lol Can you tell? I swear - once we have trails these goats will follow us. ;) The plants in the garden are 3 times what they were last year! The berries are looking lovely too - so anxious for black berry pie.
It's a lovely Sunday, my favorite day - I like gospel music and Canoe FM 100.9 has it- it has me dancing already- what this body needs to wam up! Dancing is more fun that exercise- just ask Ginger.. she needs exercise this little loaf- she sleep with Norm (he moves less) and when he gets up to let the chickens out & goats- (which he has been) I hear Ginger trot over to my bed- up the stairs and under the covers. Lazy little muffin is in for a reality check soon when the baby arrives.
Yes, you read that right! Weeeeeeeeeeeee! A baby!!!!!!! Hee hee hee
I'm calling her Sunshine! Just so I can say - all day: Hello Sunshine!
Just so I can yell... Come here Sunshine! hahaha. Then.. that's it (incase Norm is reading) Sunshine will be trained to protect the farm. More soon...
lol Notice that?
How I snuck in that 'More soon.'. More what? Chickens?!
Theres always room for more chickens... At least one.
I'm starting a commission next - what a gift to paint this painting.. dogs.
Lot's of loved dogs.
I have decided to take commissions, I'm not opening my studio' anytime soon and have no place to sell my art - other than social media (which I do o.k. - THANK YOU!) but tis is another option and I can alwasy say NO, if not interested. I was approached about this painting I was pondering it... before I even said yes. My art is an extension of my love & I like to share & yes, I like to enjoy myself too.
That's all God wants, us to enjoy ourselves - feel JOY. Paint! Heck - I might even bake... no, I think I'll visit the 'Country Bakery' up the street for a treat - or two. Mmmmmmmmmm. If you have not been - I highly recommend. Her Goosberry jam- double Nom Nom!
God bless you, give thanks you are not one a covid statistic, look after your own coop.
That's what I hear everytime the goats call.. "Maaaaaa!!!"
When Storm visited he picked up the goats to show us it couldbe done.. wellby him & Norm.. not me. They need to be picked up if hurt or in trouble and to have their nails trimmed. The actual picking up was the challenging part, once up the goats did not move only yelled: "Maaaaaa!! " Whcih made us all laugh. Goats are so much fun.
The more they like me tho- the more I learn. I was almost goosed by my goat when i turned my back on Indica to feed Sativa treats- he bumped me to let me know- turn around. LOL which I did! He clearly was playing but I can now see how a real head butt to the butt would be felt indeed.
I showed the goats the painting- Indica was jealous and they started to fight over it as seen below...
Sativa was obsessed with it, I don't think I'll hang it in the barn - as I like it too.
Sativa would not leave it alone, clearly loving her special portrait with Storm.
These goats make me laugh every time I'm out there, I wonder how they'll like our Canadian winter. They have a new insulated, beautiful goat barn, I'm sure they'll be fine.
These wooden panels are fun - I like how you can stand them instead of hanging them.
Have a creative day & a lovely weekend. I'll be painting, something.
We have BIG - LITTLE news next week, life changing- for us. Yay!

Something fishy going on.. lol
I do not normally take commissions - this does not stop others from asking. ;)
I'm glad I was asked to paint this cartoon.. I try to squeeze in a few comics still..
A friend asked if I could create this cartoon & he sent me a pretty good sketch - so it took little creaivity on my part. How often does one get to paint a fish with a cocktail and smoking pipe. ;) If you fish for Musky in particular - you should check out Dadson blade baits, he is on Instagram. I know Storm used them and was a successful musky fisherman.
Check these EGGS out! Cluck cluck!
These are this mornings eggs! I can't stop giggling and staring in amazement, 5 hens & 5 eggs... it's the cream of wheat! Sprinkled with organic hemp. I told Norm to go easy on breakfast or our chickens will get big and then starting to sing "... he likes big breasts and cannot lie.." hee hee
The last egg is so big I'm painting it after Norms drills a hole so I can empty it, biggest egg I've ever seen... slightly mis-shaped, I bet it was felt on the way out... yikes. Once you have fresh, organic - healthy & happy chicken eggs - you won't buy bland boring mass produced eggs ever again. In a perfect world every family would raise thier own chickens. I feel my world is pretty perfect these days, especially after mornings like this.
I've thanked our chickens for every single egg & will continue to do so.
Back to the details of my newest painting, "Maaaaaa!!!" which I am very pleased with.
Do you like eggs? Got a favorite recipe? Feel free to share ;)
Shcools are returning in the fall- it should be interesting.
I hope it's not a deadly decision...
I think I'd opt to homeshcool for a little while If I was in this situation.
Grateful I'm not, praying for thoses who are.

Time to paint myself/something happy! What better than our entertaining goats. We are utterly facinated with this pair. Sativa does not have utters, but I googled & goats have two - looking like a pair' hee hee - so I added them just for the fun factor. The agility of goats is no secret but to watch it daily - is fascinating! They jump and land as if jet propelled & land on a dime. I'll be hanging this one in the new 'goat barn'.. much smaller than the chicken coop - but more than comfortable, for goats to sleep.
I understand why goats like company - these two are alwasy together, they even play hide & seek and have me playing it now too. They love it- the moment they see me run arond the coop they follow and peek around the corner - I jump out and they run the other way- and turn back to look for me again. Who knew we'd have so much joy with chickens and goats. Thank God. Oh - they got loose! LOL - but they looked into the forest , at Daqisy and we chased them back & they ran back in the pen, I don't think they will take off. Still no roaming until they have on collars and come when called.
It's been a difficult week... trees down, TN, weather, local shooting and watching the USA - almost 1000 deaths today - 940 (I think I read) in one day. Arizona is storing refridgeration trucks for bodies and people still rebel against wearing a mask. :( No wonder Im beat, in bed before the chickens - the thunderstorm last night was enough to get all the rain barrels over flowing! A few friends seem to be feeling the same- I'll be glad when Covid is gone.
Yesterday, I was sent a gift from a someone on instagram ( a stranger really- we've never met) - sweets - Yay! A box of Pulparindo (!the last time I had it was in Mexico - I loved it) it's hot , spicy & sweet & a box of DeLaRosa Marzipan - which is not like traditional German marzipan. The kidness of 'strangers... Go figure. It was much appreciated.
It's Friday & I enjoy listening to "the Cannnnoooeee!" 100.9FM to unwind into the weekend. I keeop meaning to mention they have a Podcast as well that discusses many enviornmental issues in Haliburton & area- such as natural burials, tree loss, turtles many topics & ways to help or educate yourself. Have a listen. I know a few of my American friends have/do and enjoy it, the Canadian content is outstanding! Why all radio stations (in Canada) do not encourage or play this much Canadian music is a beyond me.
We gave away our first eggs! Yay! I'm making a chicken to put up by the gate and when I have extra eggs I'll tell my friend to pick them up on the way by! So far so good. It feels good to give - even if I did'nt lay them. hee hee 'Fresh laid Butt Nuggets'. (on PIN) It's a dream come true - to be here... to be neighbourly & help others around us, if we are able... I thank God for the timing & the journey.
Oh, the orange kitty was taken - Good, I'm glad. I'll be patient & wait for God to give us our next - adventure. I'm overwhelmed with happiness at our new family - dreams come true. The fact that they go to bed every night on their own.. wow.
I hope my goat painting made you smile. Indica & Sativa LOVED it! They told me so. ;)

I've learned a trick to painting better is paint something you really like! Perhaps that's cats, turtles, cars, comics, imaginary creatures.. fruit or friends! PICK ONE and focus on the details. To paint portraits - I like to paint people that I consider interesting, have great faces, make me laugh, are nice humans, have interesting facial features.. ALL of the above. Occassionally I see a photo that makes me smile - this one of two friends Kevin & Chris, was from a party I missed. After I saw that photo, I really knew I missed a good time - Hahaha!
It made me laugh out loud for too many reasons to mention. It was a joy to paint -giggling the entire time - then giggling at the anticipation of posting it and having these two "see it" for the first time - I think they will SMILE. Don't you?
I took a bit of artist liberty with the background and removed a lamp real mental photoshop happening.
I did show my son and he replied: LMAO - which is Good!
Focus on imagry that is pleasing to the mind and brings back happy memories and fondness - as I have for these two. They are two of my favorite people on the planet. lol
Seeing them in this photo cracks me up, EVERY time!
I also filled my home with treasures' & trinkets' not worth millions but each one makes me smile! It matters.
Visual triggers are more powerful than people realize - get rid of anything that upsets you or you associate with negative feelings. Who needs it? Or don't - the choice is yours.
Nothing 'material' is worth keeping if it causes you pain, mental or physical.
Toss it and MOVE on.
Make room for new happy memories. Surround yourself with love- at every opportunity.
Now, I must decide whom to give it to.. maybe I'll keep it and enjoy it for a while.

We are here to Thrive.
It's been 9 months I've been here in the forest.. surrounded by only birds & trees (mostly). I THRIVE in solitude. My painting improves, my creativity is constantly inspired when not constantly distracted. Even the internet doesn't hold the same charm it once did.
I am impressed beyond with any & every company that has taken this pandemic seriously & more so EVERY company by closing has indeed shown their employees they care about their health first & foremost. At least until we can ALL figure this out.
The rest staying open is irresponsible- they do not understand they them staying open now- prevents this entire thing to last LONGER. I read. I paint or read or do chores.
My twitch allows for little sleep. I've educated myself on: Pandemic, economy, recession, global depression, flattening the curve.. the death rates doubling, medical system overloads. Italy, Spain & now New York... are taking things very seriously - I think .. I hope.
In approximately two weeks, we will start to see the numbers of deaths according to the experts... the same numbers if not worse that Italy is currently witnessing.. ONLY after everyone took it seriously & stopped going out for fucking drinks' or to the store for things that frankly - don't matter. If you are running out for 'a loaf of bread' & that's all, you are not practicing social distancing. If you are playing cards with neighbours... YOU ARE NOT social distancing and if you returned from a trip & pop into the grocorey store you are not social distancing - you are in fact - breaking the law.
I know several who have admitted this mindset and it is shocking to me...
I never thought they would be so... careless? ...Wreckless or ...Selfish.
Is if fear? Denial or Is it ignorance?
Unless you have a mental handicap- you would have to be pretty darn ignorant to not know this is a serious problem. IT's not just about death- the longer it takes for people to stay in and take it seriously the longer it lingers and effects not just people but the "economy".. it keeps people from visiting business ever again...
So... JUST FUCKING stay home.. Enough already.
I realized how many people I know.. all around the world when, I find my self thinking: I hope Mona & George are o.k.. I hope Ivan and his family are o.k... Candice in the UK, Chuck in the USA, Jerry, Stephen, Patti, Diane, Joshua, Mark, Kevin & everyones family! Friends in the medical field... Jodie, Mike, Madison, Sam.. little Sam.. oh my.. no wonder I want to cry. Mostly I think of Storm.. I tried to be tuff- but the moment I saw him on our most recent FaceTime chat I cried. I tried.
Old People (in particular) don't just die, EVERY AGE is getting very sick, they get very sick & they might have a family member who does die & will not be able to properly mourn...
the stuff you learn when you read.
It's a nasty DEADLY VIRUD that needs to STOP. NOW

These two make me smile. I love them both, very much.
The bird & the Boy.
Bird flies free but we catch him (regular) to check on him for emergency reasons, teach him to get in his cage, clip his nails.. it's good to handle your bird so they don't freak out.
Bird gets extra excited when Storm visits us! Just like me! lol
He zips around the room - smacking us on the head during a fly bye' and 'flipping us the bird in between to get our attenetion, it makes us all laugh. Bird is a cheeky boy.
Storm, our son is also a cheeky boy - aren't all sons?
They know how to get us going & make us, mom' n particular laugh. This last visit was no exception. It didn't last nearly long enough. Knowing how busy Storm is, we're grateful he visits as aften as he does. Now, I have this painting to make us smile - he caught bird, I captured a photo & feel - I caught the mood with the painting - it works for me.
Two birds with one stone! Two loves of my life in one canvas.
I greatly appreciate them allowing me to use them for 'portrait practice'...
I don't know what Storm thinks but Bird thinks he's slimmer & needs a little more yellow. Everyone is a critic.
I'm not sure who's next - I think I'll work from a photo & suprise the person with it when complete.
Sunday, I spend with God & creating God focused art which I'll share on sundays for a little inspiration - should you feel you need some. Exploring - surrounded by birds - time to plan the next canvas! How about you? What are you creating?
Have you made your vision board for this year? Proven to work. Just sayin...
I drew me on this property. Hee hee.

That moment Tinkerbell realized 'Edibles' are not as harmless as she thought...
I love edibles! My prefered is carrot cake that I make myself with medicated coconut oil that I also make myself- it's easier than you think.
Have you watched Rotten: Edibles on netflix? I enjoy the Rotten series - very enlightening.
I know about edibles but I did learn a few points to ponder. - Edibles have a side effect that most don't consider - I bet more women than men do.
Weight gain. I have gained 6 lbs since moving up here - 6 that I keep on!
Thank you Country Bakery - lol.
Weight gain is a problem for most & edibles are a very easy way to get - carried away.
I know. First - they taste so good - you want to eat more and all of it. Don't - read the instructions, you won't die but you might get very HIGH - uncomfortably high, almost everone I know has a story to tell about edibles and having too much of a good thing- but there is also the problem of 'the munchies' - on edibles.
Weight gain is on the increase as are weight related disease - please use caution.
I encourage all I know to have healthy snacks ready - just incase you get the muchies.
Better to much on grapes than gummies! & IMO EVERY thing tastes better on cannabis - even carrots! Medicated cookies- gummies, drinks - you name it - you'll see it soon.
Edibles are are the way IN.
Interesting to note some think bud will fade - HA. Bud will never fade, many love bud as it is - no sugar needed. Most of the time I medicate without all the "goodies" but it's nice occassionally for a sweet treat'.
I had so much fun painting tinkerbell - I painted 2!
Tinkerbell giggling in the forest as happy as can be! Double art day!
Give thanks ;)
Happy Thanks Giving Weekend!
Enjoy all the goodies - Medicated or not - Give Thanks!
