Cheshire Cat - inspired by the eclipse 9' twirling art - acrylic on wood.
Inspired by the moon - known to bring out the lunatics' (Luna meaning moon) enhanced even more with the eclipse. As the clouds parted for tiny breaks it was if the big smile of the Cheshire Cat was appearing then disappearing again by more clouds. Still it was a sight to behold & it made me smile. There are no ears on my spinning kitty but none are needed - you know who it is. The background was inspired from the movie, I am inspired by most of what Tim Burton creates. It looks a little 'busy' with the lettering but that's part of the feel.
Now, he makes me smile, he was a lot of fun to paint but took longer than anticipated, I took a couple of breaks... he's also a bit crazy looking. Crazy, delirious, demented, deranged, frantic, frenzied, insane, kooky, nutty... a kooky kitty for sure! The moon is responsible for many creatures & humans behaviour; known to effect things like migration & menstruations. Scientists were going to study a few creatures under the ocean in particular that they believe are very much effected by the moon and behaving slightly delirious. I'm glad there were no recorded incidents this eclipse or any horrible automobile accidents, considering all the people who traveled to witness the event - give thanks! I'm also grateful there was no state of emergency - was the government fear mongering? Possibly, or perhaps they were just preparing.
Are you feeling a bit mad these days, trying to figure out how the government is justifying taxes? I was telling Storm I saw a product on my feed for something on amazon -$9.... when I clicked on the amazon link - it took me to the 'Canadian page' & the exact same product went from $9. - to $29.! with one click. WTF is that? That's not even the exchange rate. I think many will have the same response I did- forget that!- $20. more, for the same crap ... no thanks. It's not because I'm cheap' it is because Im tired of being ripped off. It's as if our government wants us poor, that's how it appears with prices of food, housing, medicine & taxes - everything. So if feeling a bit nutty don't be too hard on yourself, embrace the crazy. It helps us deal with what's going on. I do think that sooner than later we as Canadians are going to 'snap' & say -that's enough.
Time will tell.
I'm going to challenge myself to create another twirling art today, sketch it out at least. It's too enjoyable not to.
