Chilly mornings, drizzle... picking vegetables - it feels like fall. I was playing with 'fall leaves colours' but they are not bold enough - next time! Sitting, painting outside is such a pleasure -especially with fewer mosquitos, now that the cooler weather is here and they disappear -or are at least slower & easier to swat. This painting was inspired looking at my sunflower patch. I didn't grow any cannabis this year, simply because we forgot... if anything I miss nibbling on fresh peppery bud, perhaps next year. Many will be harvesting soon, medicine along with vegetables and herbs! I already have Yarrow bunches & oregano hanging in my studio to dry, it smells lovely in there.
It's the time of year when you see the sunshine you try to get out & enjoy it, as we all know what's on the way - snow shovels! Mitts and hats... but for now - it's still t shirt weather as I pluck mega zucchini, cucumbers & hot peppers -kale too, I like kale as do the chickens. The sunflowers will be cut and hung to dry & then placed in the cook over the winter to give the ladies a treat. Happy last days of summer, enjoy them while we have them.
