Wolves don’t lose sleep over the opinions of sheep.
This was painted in one terrific day, it's so fun just sitting watching the birds and painting funny faced sheep. It's one that appeared pretty quickly from a thought- next thing I know, I was painting. It's not that big and looks really cool sitting on my dresser at the moment - it will when up on the wall too.
When someone tries to put you down, remember who you are! A wolf is powerful, creative, wise, resourceful.. not some sheep - lost in the herd, no different from the other.
You are a child of God. Created by the Creator! We ARE stardust.
My spirit animal is a wolf & this quote amused me. Most would know it as:
Lions don’t lose sleep over the opinions of sheep.
I think it’s wise words with social media in particular. Might paint that one too- just for JOY. I read a nasty comment on Sophie Trudeau’s IG page and thought it was beyond terrible and felt immediately sad for their children. Who thinks that’s o.k.? She is a human, like the rest of us - regardless of what anyone 'think's' about her political position.
What an unfortunate waste of ones time and creativity. Learn to draw political editorial cartoons- it will help you process and bring out your creativity.
Yesterday ended up being a wonderful day! I witnessed neat things.
1. The wood peckers found a dog bone and picked out the bone marrow to feed the baby
woodpecker which was as big as they were! & Very clumsy. So sweet!
2. A hawk of some kind, swooped down and took a grackle right from under the feeder!
Brutal, fast, birds scattered! I had to process it to understand what I just watched.
Cowabunga! Nature being nature.
3. When I went to bed it was dark, no stars due to the clouds. I love it, so quiet with exception of frogs and bugs singing me to sleep. FIREFLIES! Dancing outside my window- it reminded me of the flowers in Disney’s Fantasia’ dancing as they fall. Inspired to paint, I drifted off thinking of what it might look like on paper.
Storm surprised me & drove up, picked dinner from 'The Pepper Mill. We had dinner, lots of laughs! More on that tomorrow and had to drive back home to be at work early today. Feeling missed and cared for, I am.
I sometimes worry - that's such a long drive!! Then remind myself (so I don't stress):
I drove to Halifax (and back) by myself, on a whim, when I was 26 - so. I remember the journey is just as fun!
Gardening on the scale they do is hard work especially on these hot days - in a green house! I sweat just thinking about it. It was a perfect day ending with a personal light show!
How cool is that…. Thanks God!
* I didn't lose any sleep... over the opinions of sheep.
Next: Who's watching the garden?
I also created a neat bear painting for my fishing friends, which I have many. ;) Soon.
