Kewpie.. I was surrounded by Kewpie growing up. O.k. just a big one, and many tiny ones.
My mom had a large doll that normally sat in a highchair for dolls and she wore the best knitted dresses & lacy pants... I don't recall details but I am sure I had many a conversation with the doll and to aggravate my mom in my teen years - I'd turn her head to face the back from time to time.. cause that's what teenage daughters do for fun.
I found myself thinking of the doll earlier in the week, she is very sweet and innocent in appearance, somewhere I still have my book 'Water Babies' .. full of swimming mermaid Kewpies. I must look for it this weekend.
