It's been a difficult week, it's not that I'm having an artist block - I can't seem to stop the ideas, I'm just not in the mood. Storm appeared at my studio door - as long as I'm not 'sketching/thinking' you can speak to me - - - lol. Visibly upset he reported the new 'proposed (from what I understand they are not set in stone YET) regulations around legalization. Under the new law if you give cannabis to a minor you could go to jail as a major offence. Storm remarked:
"Mom, that means if it was 'now' - YOU would be doing more JAIL time for introducing me to cannabis than a pedophile parent who SEXUALLY abuses their kid."
I was speechless. Mouth ajar, it took a moment to register ... what?
What did he just say?

This is terrible. Cananbis has never killed anyone - offering a kid cannabis - is not the same as sexually abusing them and messing them up mentally for life!
*** I AM NOT encouraging kids to use cannabis if they do NOT feel they need it. Kids today are NOT stupid and I would rather they try IT first before they use pharmaceuticals which ARE proven to alter the brain and even encourage/cause suicide.
I strongly believe there are many children/teens out there who could benefit from Cannabis.

So many offer kids alcohol to get them to PASS OUT. A Strong cannabis edible would also make a kid pass out perhaps, I've never seen it. Scum is scum. EDUCATE your kids on SCUM before cannabis.

Child abuse and child trafficking are on the increase. YOU have more danger today from your child being exposed to a pedophile on-line than you have to worry about cannabis.
Sending someone to jail for offering a minor cananbis - when a child RAPIST gets less of a sentence is SHAMEFUL & FEAR mongering continued. WHO made these rules? More money and resources STILL wasted. IF it is a NON VIOLENT CRIME
If it is scum offering kids cannabis with evil intentions- sure, give them what they deserve.
