Today's the day - the snow will melt! I know. Yeeeeehaw! It's expected to be a high of 24 and there's a bit of snow left on the deck.. soon to be gone. It's already been a perfect morning, I spied a deer checking out the chicken coop -how cool is that to see a deer in your backyard? You can hear the birds and the trickling of snow melting- the woods will be explored this weekend & soon MUSHROOMS!
Storm and I visited our favourite antique store -where you can NOW also have a delicious burrito & coffee - and look for hidden (not so hidden) treasures! I found this video on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kO1-8-BVtBo that gives you a little glimpse, they have a little of everything! A few furniture pieces I have my eye on, they just need some TLC, I'd rather have something old with character that needs some work than something IKEA.

The coolest part of our visit is every time -it's like a walk down memory lane or rather a stroll in my grandmas house. I remember that! My grandma had those.. from old ride props that remind me of centre island to 60's funky chairs, dishes, furniture, books, to an antique chaise lounge - I waitied on' and it sold, some guy name Steve (name on sold tag) beat me too it, lesson learned. Either way- it's worth the drive and a great place for lunch. I try to visit every time I'm in Haliburton. I'm sure with the lovely weather - the buds and peeps will be out in full force! All kidding aside, I read an interesting study, they surrounded older people with items from 'back in the day'. Trinkets from their past & childhood and the resident all improved in mood & attitude, simply because they were surrounded with familiar items that brought them joy. Why, I feel better & more creative when watching Bugs Bunny, or the Wizard of Oz... Do it, watch a classic, read a classic book - bring yourself back to a memory that created pleasure - it's good for you.
My moms visiting today & we are excited, I don't dare tell the dogs as they get antsy waiting for grandma & grandpaw' heehee, bringing treats to eat & play with. lol I guess it doesn't matter - grandkids are grandkids, even the ones with 4 legs.
