Reading about trees communicating with each other through their roots is enchanting, specifically as I gaze out my window & into the forest. My next book I'll be investing (& it is an investment) in will be: The Hidden life of trees. When the trees dance with the wind it's as if listening to the ocean, if you close your eyes you can easily imagine the waves beating against the shore. I find it soothing... I find the forest soothing with it's many shades of green, smell of earth, softness under my feet created by pine needles & years of fallen leaves creating a luscious carpet to explore. I'm captivated by roots (above ground) that twist & turn, wrapping themselves over rocks and each other, covered in moss. Now to know they communicate, I hug a tree gently with appreciation & gratitude just a little longer. There's too many to hug so hopefully they'll communicate with each other and share my feelings of love for them.
Mushrooms communicate with mycelium -the largest network in the world. What we can't see, what's under the ground is being explored & used to teach. Hopefully with new understanding we will learn how to better care for the forest & encourage new growth both in plants & humans. I wonder what they say to each other, I doubt it's negative, meaningless or gossip.. we could learn a lot from trees. No doubts they tell each other:
I love you.
We have a great deal to learn from trees, plants, mushroom and their roots.. we just have to dig deep. A new plant was discovered underground that can actually catch & digest rats & other underground insects. Who really understands what lies just under the surface?
For now.. I'll continue to imagine positive plant language & energy and be in awe of all Gods creations, especially those we know so little about.
Time to paint some trees.
