No better way than to spend the last few days of an August heatwave than to read a good book by the pool & I can do that in my own backyard! Amen.
This one... all I can is: I did not see it coming!!
Read it in 48 hours- perfect beach/pool read as it says on the back of the book.
I highly reccomend it. Reading it at one point I became very distressed.. I experienced a terrible 'altercation' by a man who once claimed to love me - what she experienced near the end of the book & the author caught it quite well.
It also speak about lying humans... abusive, controlling men in particular, people who PRETEND to be someone they are not... time will tell - eventually ugly surfaces- and eventually it is exposed. I couldn't help thinking about how many women are fooled by abusive partners and how many go back into abusive relationships with them - time & time again- even though they KNOW the person is nasty- usually because there are too controlled, insecure & abused to see past it - or too tired to admit it, mentally & physically. When will they learn? Possibly when it's too late.
I laughed out loud (in shock & amazement) recently when a girlfriend shared she's 'back with her partner' - the one who she caught lying and fucking around on her (several times) & she tells me she's o.k. that he exchanges nude photos with other women & visa versa - lol - I guess he talked his way out of it AGAIN or bribed her well enough in this case.. & I couldn't help think at this point... You're pretty fucking stupid if you think that's all he is sharing. What do you think? Keep going back... & at that point I decided no one can help those who truly don't want helped - stupid is as stupid does.
I've no doubts it will end badly, time will tell.

This heat had me & the girls in the pool yesterday & today.. Ginger has had her official swimming lessons, when she swims to the stairs - she stops at he top and turns and looks at me - so she is not afraid of the water & that's part of it. I'm NOT complaining! Fall is literally around the corner.
I designed a 'day bed' & asked Norm to build it, the back will be painted - I've included areas for storage baskets & even a cubby for the dogs to sleep- lol lets see how this goes.
I'm very excited as he starts this weekend...
Time to paint a Canadian Cannabis Painting inspired by a friend I met long go at our first protest... it makes me happy to see people I know doing well!! especially those in the cannabis industry- i KNOW how hard some have worked.
with TLC & THC & CBD Mostly THC for me today.
