Birds of a feather. Gouache on watercolour paper 8 x 10. My favourite chicken & duck pal.
Inspired by a water colour class on Domestika By Sarah Stokes
I took the class because it was about painting birds and thought - why not? As with all classes I learn something new each time as every artist has their own way of creating. All these classes are very different -yet all the same- all by creative beings -sharing their gifts! Birds of a feather flock together!
It’s The Haliburton studio tour & you still have time as it’s on again this weekend. People come from all over -the timing is perfect because they also get to see the leaves! This past weekend we went to Studio Rose & had a Raku pottery display. It was a beautiful day & the display was interesting - especially the part where Wayne demonstrated ‘painting’ hot pottery (right out of the very hot kiln) with horse hair. Fascinating. There were many beautiful pieces to see, I purchased a ‘leaf face’ that now hangs about my studio entrance.
Wayne also use to weld and has one of the most creative wood burning chimneas & mail box - I’ve ever admired!
Included are a few photos below. That was just one of many studios on the tour! If you want to see the leaves in their full fall glory before they fall & see & meet many talented beings with beautiful & creative art- this weekend is the time!
There are so many talented artist here - proving the point: Birds of a feather - do flock together! Created to create- we are!
