If you can't say something nice... acrylic on canvas 8 x 10
Something for a nursery... just kidding.
Really though, somedays don't you just want to say "shut the fuck up", I think we all do. The thought of Bambi saying this did cause a smile to cross my face. I feel this way when tired, lack of patience sometimes & frustration.. I don't actually say it - well, yes I do... to Norm. He says somethings and I just shake my head or the times he 'thinks' he is right about something and refuses to believe - until I educate him. Most relationships after 30 + years will admit to saying or thinking "shut the fuck up". I know many who feel this way and do say from time to time: Shut the fuck up. I feel like saying this for example, when men talk about abortion or periods. I feel like saying this when the government (Canadian & USA) state there's no $$$ for homeless or the poor but funding for war & other countries is at an all time high. I feel like saying this when I hear people spewing ignorance or nastiness about humans they don't know... Shut the fuck up and mind your business & focus on your own life. I don't says it as often as I think it.
I put this painting in my studio for now... I don't need anyones comments or approval on what I am creating, I create for God & myself, I don't care if you don't like it. The bible tells us not to swear so I've been focusing and doing it less BUT it's a lesson like everything else. Judging people for swearing is petty. Maybe they feel like swearing for a good reason & it helps them release much needed tensions. Many struggling with mental health swear more frequently & I've heard everyone from presidents to 'movie stars' swear. Some 'famous' men swear all the time, it's common (& common to accept it from men but not women) to see & hear it in movies.... why? Because everyone does it. Cut yourself some slack if you swear, breath and take a realignment of the soul. I was fun to paint and made me chuckle a few times. If you are offended: Shut the fuck up & get over it... there is far more going on on this planet much more serious than you judging my painting, use your energy to hi-light real atrocities like human trafficking, genocide, child abuse & homelessness.
On another note, my best friends (from grade five) dad has died ;(. Mr. Romano. He always welcomed me with literally wide open arms "George!!! Good to see you - Come eat!!" & then if lucky I'd get a tour of his magnificent garden - the nicest I've ever seen, and he grew everything. The garden was in layers on a hill and I tell you he used every inch and even had fruit trees, it was absolutely a labour of love & showed. Mr. Roman also worked at a chocolate factory! I always left with bags of full size chocolate bars forced on me - lol. He always poured me a ginger ale & wine & encouraged me to sit and chat. I knew he was not well for a while now but news of his death this morning still brought me to tears, albeit I've not seen him for decades he made a lasting impression on my heart when I was just a kid. I'm blessed for having had him in my life - he taught me 'family' is who ever you welcome into your home to eat!
Good Bye Mr Romano, until we meet again - where I'm sure I'll be welcomed with open arms: "George! Come eat".
Celebrate this day the Lord has made!
