Pooh Birdhouse!
The next birdhouses are ready & will be delivered to my friend Tom before the weekend, I decided on Winnie the Pooh!
& added a tiny bee for a friend, buzzing above Pooh -as he offers some liquid gold- honey to his new little friend.
I don't even know what number this bird house is, let's see.. First I painted flowers on bird houses, I've made 2 Snoopys - one napping the other flying the doghouse, a turtle, fish, Loon, Chicken, Bluejay, wolf... I think, I've painted over 100 bird houses for charity! lol. Tom builds them & I design (Norm cuts them out, primes & assembles) & I finish painting them. A joint venture for a good cause.
Tom enjoys selling them & it keeps him busy in his tiny shop (like my tiny studio) & he chooses who to donate the money to. It's my way of volunteering, since I have no vehicle to travel, I can donate my time & talent. When I have the houses -first I stare at them, blank- for about 2 weeks -hahaha, then it will hit me- as to what I want to paint & I certainly have enough sketched ideas to go from. Pooh has been on my mind -easy painting with little thought because I enjoy painting him. I was going to paint flowers but decided on a few mushrooms - I like the pop of red to match Poohs sweater. The honey is gold paint liquid gold is honey - hear to sooth & heal.. I have a bit of honey daily -usually with lemon. I thank the bees continually.
Today will be spent adding the last details like the honey & dots of white on the nose- sign & number & off they'll go!
IF interested you can give Tom a call, 705 457 7513 -I know he sells them quickly, but I'm not sure of his inventory so if you want to purchase house, you'll have to work it out with Tom. I myself won't sell as I don't feel like the hassle of boxing & mailing out, I am asked each time I make them if I will sell them & mail them - sorry, no.
Below are images of the process from sketch to complete.
I'm always happy to finish so can resume my normal painting -lol
Be Kind! Be Nice! Buy a birdhouse to enjoy & help raise funds for community programs.
I'm not sure when the next will be available but I'm pondering another bird- a chickadee or a fox. Who knows?! I told Tom this would be a moose- as that was what I was considering at the time.
Created to create & spread some joy to humans & birds! It's a win-win situation, all around.
