Bad apples..
One bad apple doesn’t spoil the whole bunch but it sure can leave a bad taste in your mouth for the rest of that bushel.
I painted this poison apple listening to a podcast, Jordan Peterson, and how one bad apple (Osama Binladen) had everyone thinking the entire bushel was tainted. How an innocent man was treated like a criminal & tortured by American police (guilty until proven innocent) because of who he was ‘presumed’ to associate with & his physical appearance. It was a sad statement on how we judge each other & how those in power often abuse it.
If you hang around with a bad apple- people will probably think you got a few worms of your own. Isn’t this how it appears with everyone who knew & hung around with Jeffrey Epstein? It appears so.... some of them don't seem to be investigated because of who they are, yet the majority of people think they are guilty of the same actions Jeffrey was. The judicial system seems 'upside down in many cases. I guess this is why we are encouraged to surround ourselves with people who will raise us up, not those who tear others down. I hope to surround myself with creative beings who continually strive to make this place (earth) a better place.. so far so good. I surround myself with dogs - so I’m off to a great start!
Yesterday, Ginger (who is getting slimmer - Amen) brought her baby into the chicken pen - the chickens immediately noticed she was carrying something in her mouth and started to chase her - it was too funny & had me giggling as she tried to defend her de-stuffed fox, from a flock of curious henpecking peckers. She was visibly relieved when she was out of the pen. It would have been funny to see her in a tug of war with a chicken - it was close. Since it’s a fun memory, I’m going to capture it in paint, & every time I look at it - I'll smile. Surrounding myself with positive images & people.
Ginger is my most painted pooch - it’s that sweet cheeky face, I can’t resist.
God said 'Good morning!' - with a lovely sunrise & a brilliant blue sky! Rise & shine.
