One January morning, I got up thought someone pooped on the living room floor, it was not pooh - worse! It was my peyote cactus! Storm grew for me, this cactus from a SEED the size of a mustard seed- perhaps smaller and it’s taken 6 years to grow this big, 2.5 inches. Upon closer inspection I could see tiny puncture wounds.. KITTEN teeth! Arrrrrrgh.
I placed it back in it’s pot & gave it extra loving & a few peyote prayers & I’m elated to share - it’s doing fine! Even had a tiny growth spurt. Peyote, known for proving a ‘High’ to humans is detestable to animals… luckily for me & my pet peyote.
My plan is to grow a big peyote & hope it blooms, never to consume. This painting was inspired by BOW my curious kitty, and his face once he tasted the bitter... it was a quick yet relaxing painting & warm up studying my Kittys colouring before I attempt to paint him & Arrow.
Bow is a great cat - I'm so happy we brought him home. Bow & Arrow, I am amazed at the love & friendship they share, I’m painting their portrait & will share some beautiful bonding photos of the two soon. Bow has a new preferred sleeping spot (see below) it’s like his own personal Netflix theatre, it’s the drawer (pulled open) of Larrys tank!
Stuck in perfect size brown furry pillow (we already had) & Bow is chillin’. He sleeps, sits and plays now in this drawer. He gets to watch crickets & Larry, I’m sure Larry is loving the attention too. & it’s heated from Larrys heat lamp, he’s napping in there now.
I’ve seen Arrow look at Bow in his drawer, wishing she could snuggle in there too. Now, I have a cool kitty bed that can be shut away when company comes.. lol
Speaking of company - I had a visitor yesterday! I think I have to paint his portrait today… stay tooned. Thank the Lord for the new day!
Send some prayers into the universe for all who need them.
Pray for miracles for others.
The true 'miracles' is the love the inspires them.
