Isn't it incredible that psilocybin mushrooms were first discovered & grown in poop? I've heard tales of ranchers chasing people off their property for poop collecting (with a side of psilocybin). I doubt they are still grown that way, unless organic in the wild -as they still and always will do. You can't stop nature- like global warming.. this past years snowfall or lack of should have many of us believing.
I was reading -hardest hit have been ski hills around the world are losing $$$ big time & skiing is big business. I haven't skied since I was in my early 20's in Vermont & I went mostly for the party, I've probably been on skis 3 times during my life & I remember it was expensive back then. Still, for many it will be missed and it's a shame because we enjoy our winter sports, especially in Canada. Snowmobilers also didn't see much action this year, which is too bad, if you have one -they're fun. There is a ski hill close by and it will be sad IF it shuts down, one less place to get out and enjoy with the kids. It had more snow than places in BC from images I've seen. Any that remain open will flourish due to fewer options & those who still have all the equipment, still want to ski. I've also seen new impressive "toys" like a bike with blades that allow you to ride on snow & dirt.. To do anything these days- it's expensive.
Storm & I use to go to the movie during the summer -once a week! It was Tuesday & the theatre -The Gem in Keswick had deals Tuesday, we could enjoy a movie, popcorn & drink, candy bar -all fo under $30 -for 2! Not now. Dairy Queen - the last time we went we had 2 chicken strip meals & 2 drinks and it was over $50 - for nothing special, dry over processed chicken strips and tasteless fries. No point complaining - I just don't go back. Lesson learned. It had me wondering about kids and families now, it was a treat for us then and a treat' many can't afford any more. A business like a ski hill can be creative, offer different things but some businesses can only do so much - if you are visiting a restaurant, please be kind to your server, they usually work much harder than it appears. All 'this' is just an opportunity for creative growth!
The moral of monkey & mushrooms & this blog: Good things can grow from shitty situations with the right outlook & creative curiosity! Have Faith, Give thanks for all Gods creations - like snow!
May we play in it & enjoy it for decades come.
*side note about yesterday's blog - a girlfriend contacted me - she had a friend in high school who use to go with her family at night & pick worms, she reminded me, they had cans on their ankles to hold the worms. They would sell the worms to places for fishermen. How neat & resourceful. Thanks Linda! :D
