Of course you know.... this means war. Part 1.
Kicked in the ass & sent flying through the air as he reads his map, not in Albuquerque.
Can you guess the cartoon??
Another hint - beforeBugs is sent sailing - he demands: Stop steaming up my tail!!
Part Two tomorrow - Saturday morning fun! Weee.
Storm foraged and we ate our first wild mushroom Dryad's Saddle, already abundant on the property. Last year, I couldn't possibly eat all I found, which is o.k. as the creatures must enjoy it too. This mushroom smells like fresh Mellon when you slice into it. It's flavour is somewhat bland compared to Morel or Lions mane but delicious all the same.
This video I watched a couple of years ago was very helpful. Right now, it's as if it appears over night - between the heat wave & rain it's more like they explode over night! There were NO bugs, worms or spiders it's so fresh so just a quick rub to remove any dirt and it was ready to slice and sauté, I added garlic & spinach for the perfect side dish. It's one of the easier mushrooms to identify. *ALWAYS make sure you know your mushrooms before you eat them, never forget some are DEADLY.
The hunt for Morel is on this weekend! The trilliums are up and that usually means the morel are also.. last year I found one... Hee hee, it was savoured in an omelet.
Part Two and a little detail about this classic cartoon tomorrow.
Thankful for Gods gifts - especially Fantastic Fungi!
