To say "I'm proud of Storm.." would be an understatement.. and perhaps a cliche' as most moms think this of their sons butI am. I'm reminded daily of how grateful I am to have him here. Storm does a lot of the cleaning, laundry, dog bathing, cat wrangling, bird tossing (lol) most meal prep & his share of cooking -he makes the best pizza & mashed potatoes. Most if not all, the garden work, firewood chopping work & it's work and he is always focused & working on his own business - which is a lot of work.
I share mushroom stuff confidently because of Storm, who has a degree in mycology & has been associated with The Mycologist Society of Toronto for near a decade. We've gone on many forays (he still does regularly) and they've always been educational & fun! I remember the time Storm cooked discovered morel on the tailgate of his truck, for everyone to try. It's terrific living in the woods with a mycologist who says: No, do not eat that mom... to most photos I send on each discovery - lol. He's patient, educational & enjoyable to foray with! That's a fact... ask the many who have attended forays he has led or been a part of. Because of demand from friends asking - He is planning on taking a few friends through the woods on personal private forays with lessons on fungi & more - wild raspberries, gooseberries, strawberries -oh my! What better way to learn.. I'm out today to forage more dryads saddle, mushrooms are also easy to slice and dry for storage!
Storm has launched a product from his company 'Flow Mycology' that will have many mushroom enthusiasts excited - I know I am. He's inoculated wooden plugs so that people can DIY - mushroom logs -to grow their own! I tell you - not only is is amazing to watch them grow, but to have tasty super fresh mushrooms is a real treat. Imagine when you go out to your garden to pluck off a few beans or a tomato you can actually pick your own mushrooms as well! Make your meals complete. Are you aware how good mushrooms are for us? For the brain in particular & I don't mean 'magic mushrooms' (they are really good for the brain) I'm referring to Lions mane & shiitake - Google them - you'll be amazed! They think Lions mane in particular guards against dementia. Lions mane fried in a pan with butter, OMGosh it's all I need to know, just thinking of it has me drooling. On his Instagram page: Flowmycology you can enter to win a package to start to grow your own fungi goodness! Go check it out - comment a log & mushroom and share to win! I entered but I know I'll have mushrooms so I did it just to be a mom :) cause I love my son! I think Covid was one of the best things sometimes.. many changes, a new awareness and Storm moved to the woods! Yay! I'm grateful to God for my son, every day. Who knew he'd grow to be such a fantastic grower or all things good for us! Check out his instagram & I hope you win!
