Look Beneath the surface…
Just about everyone has more stress right now, understandably. I know when my week was especially difficult my stress level lay bubbling just beneath the surface.. waiting to show itself. What to do about it, when you start to get more grumpy than usual, we all get grumpy - create. Creation is born from love. Destruction is born from hate. Create.
Still waiting on a permit has me understanding, the town must be overwhelmed, backlogged & busy, “covid rules & delays” they won’t even open a letter/mail for 5 days, people are getting frustrated & don’t want to sit & wait as lumber prices continue to skyrocket and our ‘summer building season’ disappears in the blink of an eye, pressures mounting, delays are literally costing people thousands of dollars. I roughly calculated what we spent on the shop and added the increase in lumber prices in just the past year - had we waited, one year for the lumber alone - would have cost us easily cost to an additional $20,000. more.
Does the town care, their delays are costing it’s community??
Norm decided to work on a few small projects, YAY! Turn this negative into a POSITIVE! Things we hadn’t planned on until late summer a small bird pond & raised vegetable garden all getting done - now! Garden boxes are built & ready to go. Hi Hoe!
We’re designing a little Japanese inspired corner for some forest chilling -the perfect reading nook & napping - no doubts. I’m currently working on a FUN Alice in Wonderland art and still painting monkeys!

Next - 2 ‘smoking monkeys’ …waiting to fly to their new homes after the pandemic slows at the post office. Time to listen to some Marvin Gaye as I get ready to paint on this lovely overcast day!
