This cartoon is just to show you simply the hypocrisy surrounding these laws' and those who make them. In Canada we are permitted to have limitless amounts of alcohol in our homes. Growing up- who had a "home bar?" Oh my gosh, the first bar I remember was so cool at the time- a little thing set up - complete with 2 stools and tons of booze for Friday night entertaining with friends. Saturday and Sunday too. Later in life my dad had a huge bar built in the basement "Billys Bar" it was really something, sports themed with mirrors along the back wall and every shelf (glass) was covered in bottles of booze - some 80% PROOF, gifts from friends over the years. My dad was in the car business and he would come home with cases of booze at christmas, to drink and give. It was the norm and still is for many- many homes still have a bar in the corner if not an entire 'Man Cave" - much like my dad had way back before they became a "thing". There is NO LIMIT to the amount of alcohol we can have in our home. No limit on the cases of beer we can have- heck- some build furniture out of them cases.. until they need the money for empties.
How many homes have wine cellars? I like a nice wine, although I've really have not drank since I bet my friend Chris- if he cut back on his meat consumption - I wouldn't drink. Not even one drop over the holiday weekend. It was not noticed or missed. We can have limitless amounts of wine in our homes, red, white, rose and don't forget the sparkling! We can have a bar & a wine cellar in our homes.
Cannabis- it will be regulated and IF you have OVER the permitted amount in your home, you can still be arrested. It won't happen. Unless you have a crazy amount- good luck, I don't understand the thinking- it's still keeping us under control- an attempt to anyway. It's still prohibition. CONTROL over our lives & choices.
The federal government also proposed possession limits for adults and youth. Under the federal proposal, adults would be allowed to have up to 30 grams of dried legal cannabis, while people under 18 years old could have up to five grams.
We can get fall down drunk at a friends bar- at 9 in the morning if we choose (some do) yet we won't be able to have a cannabis party- it will be too expensive and with the limit- we might let some smell our best bud- but we won't be sharing or comparing. lol
Actually most cannabis consumers do share, they have a better attitude and understand the lies surrounding the plant. It's all fear mongering. Who will stick to this law?
Cannabis has many strains- with many different results from feeling more energized to some that calm you down, some help my mind and others help my body. I look forward to all the varieties which will be offered to people!
WARNING- many for the first time will get HIGH. I've yet to meet anyone yet who stripped and ran naked though the streets once they have consumed cannabis- if someone does it will be more about the exhibitionist than the cannabis.
It's simple until you know: just go slow.
Tiny bowls, Tiny puffs.. tiny bites & wait.
Learn to know how cannabis makes you feel, slowly.. and then collect a strain or two- for the mood you want. I always have a few strains to choose from & have my favourites. Now to start the day & calm my twitch - #humbervalleykush.. later some #grapeescape for some great gardening work to be done - this is what I do when I'm high, no lie.
More examples of Canadian cannabis fear mongering coming soon.

I forgot to mention this cartoon was inspired by comment on FB.
I asked him to explain & he did... clearly the thoughts of many Canadians.
"In our cabinet we have about twenty bottles of different liquors. As well, I have many bottles of wine. I don’t intend to drink them all at once neither will I sell them to anyone else. Why is the proposed limit of x amount of grams or you go to jail valid. I don’t smoke weed myself but I would think that regular smokers could also enjoy different types of weed. Why could they not have a collection to draw from. Not all weed is the same flavor or strength. Anyone can make their own beer or wine at home for their own use so why would there be a limit (within reason) on weed. In my mind this is not legalization.
