A friend in Arizona just shared a court case with me - a 'medical patient' is now on his way to jail - one step forward two steps back. A jail by the way that is privatized in the USA...have you watched the netflix mini documentaries on TRUTH & POWER... on private prisons. I've been reading about private prisons for a few years when Stephen Harper was big on them- educate yourself on the TRUTH of these hellholes. In Private jails people profit by putting people in prisons to keep their bank books full, most in jail are black & hispanic (poor) who can't afford lawyers let alone much else.
I feel it's important to share with Canada legalizing in a few months- what will we see happen. There's much talk about driving impaired - and how we anticipate more arrests... is this a sign of things to come?
I don't feel we are anywhere near the USA - let alone Arizona's cannabis mentality- but you never know. Arizona BTW is legal for medical cannabis BUT that does not mean it's going to keep you from being sent to prison, read below commentary on the situation:
Arizona Court of Appeals When is not Marijuana, Cannabis? And, when is Cannabis not Marijuana? Only in Arizona's legal labyrinth, can such a play on semantics pop you straight in the pokey with a Class Four (4) felony. For residue! (hash) Of less than a gram! Less than a tenth (1/10) of a gram.
How about five one-hundredths of a gram? And, the container you house that micro-gram of residue (hash} within? That will get you another 2.5 years in the State pen.
Why? You may ask ...
How can a simple jar with a lid that houses your residue cop you another 2.5 years in the Arizona State pen? Possession of paraphernalia. To go along with your "possession of cannabis" residue (hash). That's five years in a 5 x 5 ...! With your days held without bail while awaiting your trial considered as credit against your ultimate sentence. But, hey! You can wave your trial by jury, if you think your peers are going to agree with the agressive prosecutor, but then your fate is sealed. Even with a "Medical Marijuana" green card, approved by the voters of Az via the AMMA of 2010 ... you are not immune. Is this a paradox, or a perversion of justice? For sure, it is a mash-up of the same plant, no doubt.
Apparently, when the AMMA of 2010 was approved by the voters of Az giving all patients rights and access to medical "Marijuana" , then commonly considered the flowers and brachts of the Cannabis plant ...They also unwittingly approved of the previous language in the code, not superceding the then common definition of the word "Cannabis" as used previously in the code as a narcotic drug. Cannabis plant, commonly known as "Marijuana" would revert back to the old code language for "Cannabis" the narcotic drug. This blows out of the water the presumption of innocence when possessing extremely small amounts of Or, a 1,000 gram Dragon Ball ...!
Arizona's Court of Appeals concurs So, you stay in jail Cannabis consumer, with your "legal" green card, and continue to pay society for the crime of possessing "Cannabis" narcotics, rather than simply possessing the defensible "Marijuana" aka the dried flowers and brachts of the Cannabis plant. And, you tell your attorney to ask the Arizona SupremeCourt for certiori in order to appeal the decision of the appellate court. In the interim, continue to enjoy the steel-bed of your incarceration nightly along with the hospitality of your fellow inmates. Note. Arizona is a private-prison state, with numbers to achieve, and plenty of legal trap doors to fall into.

Personally, the past couple of years- the more I read & learn about Arizona- it's not on the list of places to visit - no matter how tempting the landscape would be to paint. In my opinion it's full of wealthy, older racists.
Just look at the prisons and camps for immigrants and children - look at how they treat others & this is only what WE see, what we are being shown. #fucktrump - had he NOT been called out on this - he would NOT have taken action - Now they are just put in FAMILY prisons.
**Any Canadians visiting the USA - NOW, are warned DO not divulge your cananbis use or experience- the MINDSET of the USA is to make you a criminal- until proven innocent. :https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/smoke-pot-us-border-1.4718571 is this fear mongering - about crossing the border? I'd listen. I would not admit to smoking cannabis- because in the minds of the American border guards it is still a crime - still a way to PUT people in private prisons- STILL a way for them to make $$$$$$$ as is the special 'waiver' - it's quite costly. It's ALL only about the money...
Save your money, get more for your dollar, feel safe & encourage the Canadian economy - travel in Canada this summer - and smoke a joint or two while you do - heading to P.E.I - Halifax? Canadian Lobster is the best in the world - in a few months- it will be legal to eat dipped in Cannabutter!!!
Yum... sorry Lobster, thank you for the nourishment.
Actually I cut back on lobster as it is not good 'apparently for arthritis but I've not had one for awhile so..
A little fun fact - for those who follow the HOLY Bible word to the T'- like Jeff Sessions- (tried to USE the HOLY bible to his advantage) I wonder if he eats shellfish - in the bible it is said to be a sin.
Here's an interesting article on what Jeff Sessions should be quoting - bible verses..
