Tomorrow is TiniWeenieTiki Time & I almost forgot to show you my 'Hook-Em-Eh!' Games! I'm sure some of you are familiar with this Bar game/Ring Toss- I played years ago at some tropical island - it's not as easy as it looks BUT it is as fun as it looks. The concept is very simple.. you stand back and try to get the ring on the string on the HOOK on the TIKI!
My longtime friend Kat, (30 years +) asked me if she could sell my Tiki after seeing them on my back deck.. I said "sure, why not." Kat recently sold her Gallery & has time other hands and frankly If I cant trust her after being my friend of 30+ years to represent me/my art who can I? This is all about 'Enjoyment' for me & she knows it.. she also knows I'm o.k. if no Tiki sell. It will be interesting to see the response they get. Kat knows art- it's been her life as long as I've known her & she's in agreement - they make people smile! But being the business women - she did ask me to consider making a few 'smaller - more affordable items' so these Hook-Em-Eh are it!
We did research - YES, you can find a similar game online and instores (in the states) But none look as fun as these Hook-Em-Eh! They are one of KIND! Made in Canada - Eh!
& they are the biggest I've seen, the 'small ones in stores are $20, for mass produced tiny (plain in appearance) games. These hook Em- Eh! are built tuff to last, we are selling them 'HOOKs in' because were not pleased with what we've seen & we wanted to make them better! Each Hook Em Eh - comes with Hook, Screws, ring & string (& instructions) for the fantastic price of only $60 - for original art & game!
Norm found 'just' the Hardware kit on Amazon for $30. I currently ONLY have 8 including the DELUX - which is our game- going to hang in the studio ofter the show. Like his hook? Hee Hee Hee He can be ordered - and you can even choose your own colour- SHIPPING is extra- applicable to where you live.
I wanted to make sure people could try one at the booth- but hanging it from the booth might have scratched up a few things- I suggested Norm make this stand - and NOW we have a Hook-em-eh stand that we can TAKE anywhere & play anytime! The stand would be expensive to make and ship but I'll tell you 'how to' after the show if you want to make your own! I'll even SHOW you show to paint PVC to look like Bamboo ;) I think once I open the studio I'm going to offer a class in painting your own personal Tiki Totem Animals - not as big but just as bold!
