It was time for a new iPad! Actually I was trying to decide on a new tablet & drawing program, - winter is here & it's best to keep busy, inspired and motivated- craftsy I use for different reasons.. then I spent a day looking into drawing apps. on youtube and was convinced to purchase a new ipad pro. & pencil. A little more research was needed, hours later it was on my lap.
So far - I am impressed. It's bigger than my old iPad so it's slightly awkward but not as big as a laptop would be. The camera is the best I own & it's fun. Mac is fun. I do not have a phone so Storm likes he can now message me & I am slightly more reachable' if need be. It is light enough, sleek, easy to figure out. Fun.
I won't use it for e mail. It took me a few moments to figure out how to turn off all settings.
All alerts- it's not healthy for your art or passion -mind to be in constant contact with the world at all times. This is my opinion and that of a few top scientists... research. I quickly started using Adobe draw (FREE download) which is easy to figure out, fun to use an has the time-lapse option. it teaches twice as fact when you watch it after your creation has occurred. Watching reinforces what you do right and want to avoid next time. IT takes practice, work. You can watch youtube videos of others work an see how the application works. My issues are with layer confusion' (my own) and I can't blend - but I am still learning- perhaps it can - I'm still learning.
I was not getting 'the look' I wanted quickly after playing with Adobe Draw so I also downloaded: Procreate' the name amuses me Pro Create & procreate... yes.
This is what it looks like and again- my confusion about layers frustrates me- but in fairness to the application- I have not spent much time "learning from others.. I still have some lessons to take. It has great features! bubbles, material, cement - it is exciting to open it up and play'. I recommend both programs - Procreate the more advanced of the two - ironically I sill use Adobe Draw to cartoon'
ipencil! Love it. It feels fine, draws perfect, the charge lasts easily for what Im appear to be doing. It feels as smooth as a paintbrush and had an incredible pressure sensitive line quality. - the only issues is me losing it- & the little cap & charger attachment. I keep them in the kitchen junk drawer for night charging. A talented young sewer on instagram has made me a 'sleeve' custom for my ipen! -as soon as I get it - on it will go.
I find the most difficult part of this new iPad is putting it down so I can paint... actually it's not that difficult, nothing can replace the peace from painting at my desk.
You can check out time-lapse on my IG account.
