Movies I found Inspiring:
Maudie is on Netflix, I rented it a few years ago but it’s worth mentioning again, this story is very inspiring on several levels & all too relatable in a few ways. I tear up at times, especially understanding when she asks the Dr. for pain medication just so she can continue to hold her brush. Not once have I let my arthritis stop me from painting. I’ve known a few that stopped, instead of working through. I honour God daily by painting…. here’ surrounded by nature, I have paint & canvas - I will serve the Lord by showing my appreciation - which sounds easier than it is, somedays. I’d love to visit Maudies house (now in a museum), I’m making it a new goal. A road trip to Halifax (which I have done before, by myself) with my dogs sounds like fun… now, I just need a focus on vehicle, I really like the new Broncos. Universe - are you listening? Lol. BTW, I like to barter - for anything & everything, I think it’s one way for a more sustainable future, in a world filled with consumerism & STUFF… check out this couple that acquired a Maud Lewis painting for some grilled cheese sandwiches. Also a neat fact - Maudes birthday is the day after mine, March 7th - yeah.. let's hear it for creative pisces.
Also on Netflix - a movie about prostitution in India… wow. Talk about enlightening. Gangubai - I loved this movie.. powerful, emotional - raw at times, yet tastefully done & the bonus of a few Bollywood numbers. I'm also currently enjoying the soundtrack. I don’t want to ruin it for anyone but I highly recommend this move (subtitles). I read it is breaking records for a non English movie on Netflix & I’m not shocked. The plight of women around the world.
What’s with Trudeau? Doesn’t he care about women’s abortion rights in Canada?? If so… why all the dilly dally over abortion laws in Canada- he was sure able to enact the ‘Emergency ACT’ fast enough, over traffic jams & horns blaring.
His actions speak louder than words - or rather, LACK of his actions.
On the easel today, something for my kitchen.
I'm trying to focus (distract) & keep busy but... it's hard to paint & not to cry the past few days, Bow is missing & we are all moping, especially Arrow who is sitting looking into the woods and every time I call for Bow she goes running an looking, even up in trees. Heart breaking, yes indeed.
I'm taking a break from the internet as I wrestle (& pray) with God about a few issues.
Created to create.
