FANTASIA by Walt Disney & co is by far the best animated movie ever made, it was under the tree for me this Christmas, I've already watched it 3 times.. & it has compelled some tribute art! Starting with 'Night on Bald Mountain' - I can't take my eyes off the screen at the amount of beauty- the stunning array of colors - naked women dancing & flying - blown away realizing that it was released in 1940 making it almost 80 years old! No computer animation, no computers - lol Not many will comprehend the amount of work, skill, talent that went into this masterpiece... which was a failure for Disney at the time as a 'business decision' - not as art.
Would you like a lesson in color? Watch Night on Bald Mountain! The monster in shades of blue purple & reds is a powerful being that rises in the evening to rule all dead things -bringing them to life again - it is the most 'powerful scene in the movie IMO.. It was a feast painting this beast! Because of FANTASIA - Disney revolutionized the industry- even creating a special camera for in-depth shots. If you think cartoonist are not 'artists' think again, this films proves Walt Understood the importance of imagination better than most. He'd be my 'if you could have a conversation with anyone who has died' - guy. I can't encourage you enough to watch this movie with your kids, show them 'classic ART Disney", it's got something for everyone as well as one of the best introductions to Classical music other than Bugs Bunny.
More FANTASIA on the way, have a creative day!
I'll end the year with 'the beast' & all beasts that reared their ugly heads in 2018 - next year... Goodness Prevails! Watch & Witness.
Shout out to Norm who has really stepped up his cooking & cleaning skills over the holidays & continues today - he has had the entire week off and I've really appreciated all the help - without the argument. <hint hint - lol
