There's something fascinating about bringing drawings to life! I've always felt this way- my love of cartoons is still very much strong at 60 & counting. Cartoons make me smile (laugh), inspire, educate and fuel the desire to create! So when I recently saw this website that transforms drawings into moving art (easy and fun) geared towards kids, how could I resist?
Still a kid at heart after all, I was excited to try & was not disappointed.
The website is easy, https://sketch.metademolab.com you scan a drawing and the rest is explained, once scanned it lines itself up - made me think of Steve Williams ( https://www.jurassicpunkmovie.com ) the animator who created the Dinosaur for Jurassic Park, this is what Steve did (only super simpler), grateful for his contribution to animation around the world, being better overall - because of him. Anyhow, try it! Watch the glee on your little ones face when they see their creations dance.
A sad note to this weekend, a long weekend Canadians celebrate sun & fun and taking a break in nature has turned deadly; a boating accident, several are hurt & 3 dead.. terrible. Turning a celebration into a nightmare for so many - the victims, family, friends. I'm glad the police are trying to enforce more safety on the water. I hope alcohol was not involved. I'm not going to be a hypocrite... I remember when we had a boat, out drinking and driving, water-skiing, tubing usually with margaritas & beers, we were lucky nothing happened. May long weekend.. truthfully it will be ruined for many, forever now. I was in a car crash with my girlfriend Angie one May long weekend & when I called my dad to 'come get us' he wouldn't speak to me.. I thought he was mad, but my grandma died and he didn't want to tell me until we got home, I was crushed (double whammy that May long weekend) and didn't even realize till weeks later I actually broke my collar bone in the accident. So.. yes, it creeps in every year since & it has been a long time. I was close to my grandma.
I thanked God for this beautiful morning & long weekend! What stunning morning Arrow & I walked to the bakery (in the lovely old church) in Carnarvon'. The sky clear & blue, the air still cool at 8a.m., the mosquitos still snoozing (wishful thinking) a perfect start to this day & my son (who likes to run) joined me for a hello & ran home again. lol. What an amazing girl, Arrow won't leave my side, I even intentionally dropped the leash to see what would happen - nope- she didn't budge. Geeze! I forget how steep this hill I live on is, but we felt fantastic once we arrived back home albeit out of breath - ready to garden! & speaking of garden... Storm put 'wine cap' spores in my garden right off the steps & they have come up! How cool that we can go pick fresh mushrooms grown literally steps from my door in the garden, for our breakfast brunch -YUM! You should get some!
OMGosh - I almost forgot.. I thought we found morel -we did but then another patch turned out 'false! Good thing Storm was with me & realized they were in fact false morel and toxic, you can see how easy it would be to misidentify. Storm did a fantastic blog on it - go see so you learn what NOT to eat & how close the resemblance can be.
