Good Friday Jesus gouache on watercolour
The problem with Jesus...
The problem with Jesus is the more you know Jesus, the more you read the word of God, the more you educate yourself on Jesus and his teachings, on the man & miracles - the more painful, Good Friday becomes.
Watching The Chosen & it has not even shown the death of Jesus, has had me tearful several times. One scene with Jesus and his mother Mary, understanding Mary is aware of what is to happen to her son, she can't even hold his hand in her pain, had me crying. A Dr. shared on instagram, the reality of what Jesus would have suffered and how painful it would have been, also had me crying. The more I know, the more I believe, the more I understand -the more I love... the harder it is. I can't think of anything, any education I am more grateful for. The lessons Jesus teaches us and how he was treated is humbling. I have to keep reminding myself - it is not about the death but the resurrection, this helps me get through today. Jesus died for our sins, for my sins, for your sins.. is there a greater love? Never.
Thank God.
We went to my favourite bookstore yesterday - Masters bookstore in Haliburton, I like the woman who runs it, Kathy.. she's one of those people who I instantly felt a fondness for the first time I met her. I enjoy our short visits, she giggled yesterday when I asked her if she has seen The Chosen & how, I now have a crush on Jonathan Roumie & Jesus. heehee. You can get the DVD set there as well as many fantastic God inspired based books, DVD, music and gifts - and bibles for everyone including babies! If up this way - stop in and have a peek, I love book stores & antique stores, Haliburton has both & more. More on the antique store next.
It's a beautiful day - sunshine & melting snow!! We have gone out and it's little chilly but the end of the week looks promising with warmer temperatures. My weather gauge' is a snail that sits in the forest (below) each time I see him I think: Soon. I'm confident the snow will go - next week... YAY! Then we get to watch God's glory with the arrival of spring again - buds and mushrooms, flowers and bugs (except mosquitos, I think the devil had a hand in their survival) like bees & dragonflies - bring it on!
:)
Give thanks for another day! A gift from God.
PRAISE JESUS!!!
