New Fungi & Frog Oar…. painting & pondering: This OR that?
I want to paint these Oars to get them out of my tiny studio & up on a wall, this froggy creation was just for fun, I think I’ll give it as a gift, the next will be a big fish.
I was thinking about choices - ‘this or that?’
We are making some difficult choices these days, all of us. It’s one thing to make a choice that effects our own life but it’s another to choose for others. I’m glad Storm is old enough to make his own choices. I have said to him as I do to others: do what ever you feel you need to do, to make your life better, happier & healthier.
The one thing God gave us all was choice. Freedom to choose - right from wrong - as we have to live with the consequences. In many cases people don’t have a choice, one example is to be in the army - you do what you are told & go where you are sent.
I don’t agree with war or rather sending people off to endanger their lives with little choice (& little reason other than someone usually higher up - making lots of $$$) — while the ones making the decisions are safe sitting behind a desk in another country, far from harm. John Stewart has a new show that educates about soldiers being sent to “war”. In this case the war is with 'burning pits'. I had no idea of this problem & I bet many don’t.. burning everything from clothing, trucks, tons of human shit & even body parts in a huge pit often causing serious illness & cancers once the vets return home. All of which the government then claims they are not responsible for and deny compensation when these veterans are sick dying with escalating medical bills. What does it boil/burn down to… $$$$$$$. Lies for $. Just one more incident the government claims ignorance so they don’t have to pay out. How many times in history have we witness lies for profit - or in the future?
Canada has a high cost of living (especially currently with pandemic prices rising on everything)… but it has me thinking - I’d rather have a high cost of living than a high cost of dying.
The USA has a high cost of dying for it’s country for wars that prove unfounded, many have died and continue to do so - if they don’t die they often end up with medical bills costing them not only their lives but everything they once worked for in obtaining the “American dream”. Imaging fighting for your country with your LIFE, only to return home & get sick because of what YOU had no choice in doing & then have thousands of dollars is hospital bills - the stress alone makes war veterans choose to end their lives by suicide.
How many times does it end up being all about $?
It is messed up. I’m grateful for the education, it might make people start to choose differently & live longer, happier, healthier lives. War… what is it good for? Profits.
What would you choose, IF you could - the cost of living or the cost of dying?
