Fall fling. 8 x 8 gouache on black. Video on Instagram - Georgia Toons.
The weather has been 17 the past few grey days - it's made the yellowed browns pop! Stunning with drifts of fog in the forest. Today the sky is blue! It will be a weekend of putting things away for another winter. The mushrooms must be loving this weather - ready to release spores for next spring, the entire drawing above was inspired by a branch. Just a tiny, lumpy branch that caught my attention in a forest full of branches. I might turn it into something - craft like.
I woke up emotional today, my arthritis in my feet has me unable to walk the past couple of days, it feels as though I have broken my foot. I look at my hands and feet - and think - when did that happen? When did they become deformed, like magic they turned from normal & functioning to deformed and painful. I am thankful I get breaks and can use my hands (&feet) even with -or should I say - through the pain. Cannabis also helps with pain & sleep, I guess that's why - I don't ever feel HIGH, the medicine has a specific task & knows it. It seems like every new show on Netflix is about killer "medicines' with several addictive tendency, all prescribed by medical practitioners - who swore to do no harm.
Some were aware of exactly what they were/are doing... Educate yourself - TRY the least harmful, less addictive, natural options first, if you can.
I read the rosary with Jonathan Roumie this morning (also emotional) and told myself to get up, not cry and carry on - go paint. I'll just take it easy for a couple of days. Once we get past this damp, warm spell, the air crisp... I'm sure it will ease up. Use it or lose it! Keeping creative is always key, I know what it's like to sit and focus on pain it just becomes painful - I'll focus on painting, not pain.
We prayed the rosary for all those innocent humans suffering in this current war... not for a side to win but for all involved, all who have lost someone, all who are displaced, injured - emotional and physical pain. Choosing sides encourages anger & resentment. The Rosary is a powerful tool & weapon for LOVE.
Next - a classic (30 years) Jack from The Nightmare before Christmas "Whats' This!?", with the scariest background I could imagine!! Happy Halloween for all those partaking in the festivities this weekend.
