I was thinking about hard workers' while working on this cartoon.. my entire life I've been surrounded by hard workers. What a blessing that has been. I was also thinking about Martin Luther King Jr.s' speech.. dreaming of a day when all men are created equal.. should simple read:
... when 'all' are created equal.
I've experienced, witnessed & heard many accounts where women were getting paid less and treated worse. It is hurting the next generation, it has already hurt this one.
I've learned about equality - or rather I've learned about inequality. I've seen people I know work hard, found out they did not get paid what others were paid for the same job, in some cases a BETTER job. Chances are we ALL know someone who works someplace because a parent- gave them the job, we watch as they waste time, are paid better than most other employees who work harder for much less... the bosses children behave like 'Divas, came in when they wanted, left early, helped them self to product.. and others watch and built up resentment. It's difficult to watch right?
I've seen it many times over, no doubt I'm not alone.
We've all been there.
Not quite.. we have not all been there. We are not all there.
Are you Black, Latino, Indian, Female? They get paid less for working harder (in many cases) simply because of the color of their skin and gender. It' that simple.
It's that shameful. Men & women both should care & speak up. It is all our future.
This rule applies to men as well, men of color' get paid less- simply due to the color of their skin & in many cases work harder and are can better educated & suited for some jobs (AS are ALL women.) but white men get them.
It appears the wealthiest are old, white men.
Women are rarely paid equal amounts for equal work.
Women also deal with sexual harassment on epic levels.
Wtf is wrong with the system? THAT.
Nothing will ever be right until we start with treating each other how we DESERVE to be treated, fairly. It's not about our sex, skin color, hair, it SHOULD be only about our quality of work.
IF you're not being treated fairly - QUIT! I understand it's not that simple, many moms trying to feed their kids. If you're not being treated fairly - get smart about it: Document everything. Save, note, record anyway you can if need be.
If employers are abusing you, the system - there are becoming more resources to turn to.
I have hope.
If you are lazy and living off the system & others, that is your choice too..
We are not placed on this planet to be parasites - we are each here to SHINE!!!
What confusing about Equal rights? Equal pay for equal job- it's that simple.

When it comes to equal rights there is only one person to blame- the owners, bosses, CEO's head haunchos' who USE the backs of others to succeed with their greed, they let it happen, they choose to turn a blind eye, they make the rules the decisions.
Some rise to the top walking on the back of others and care very little for 'who they have to step on to get there. Speak up. It effects us all.
I did watch President Obama on the David letterman show, what a gentleman.
