Duck doodles- halloween costume ideas for a duck. Gouache in watercolour paper.
One of our ducks was limping, so I asked Storm to catch it and I'd give it's feet a soak & good look. Even though limping - ducks are fast! It amazes me waddling around on those big flippers- that feel like a rubber wetsuit. He caught her & carried her in - both of us amazed at how much a duck weighs -about 10lbs. We brought her in and soaked her in the laundry tub- she loved it and settled right down for a swim and had some corn as a treat. Daisy' was quite content in the tub, I also showered her down. I could not see anything, perhaps it's just a strain.
I love these ducks- they are so beautiful, funny, gentle and enjoyable to watch!
When we took her back out - she ran over to the others and started chattering!! It was too funny - she seemed to be telling the others off her experience and they listened and then chattered back asking questions - no doubts. What's the inside like? was the spa nice? Did you see anything interesting? lol Needless to say it put me in a playful mood and I painted these ducks just for fun. I hope the ducks are fine over the winter, last year we lost a few chickens, ducks are hardier & the coop is insulated with room to walk around... time will tell. It was 'brisk this morning.
The sun is out now- time to kick the ball & ponder todays painting!
Below - Daisy at the Spa. Thanks to Storm for duck wrangling! lol
Happy October 1st! Halloween paintings on my mind. lol
