Home made dog cookies! There are countless recipes for dog cookies.. this one is easy, simple and tasty -just ask Poppy!
Any treats if given too many will possibly make your pet chubby, also most purchased treats are NOT made with healthy ingredients - but ingredients that are cost efficient (cheap) & some are actually harmful. There have been recalls on dog treats and some animals have even died. Why take any chances with our furry family.
We use to buy Milk Bones & never had issues until Daisy would scratch at her gums (every time) 10 minutes after having a Milk bone, clearly she was allergic. The recipe above is altered sometimes to make it with a cup of pumpkin puree & 1 table spoon of bacon fat, which they also enjoy. A little healthier & just as much enjoyed. This batch will last us - 4 dogs about 3 weeks. They usually only get them when they come in from outside.
I roll them and slice them thin - they resemble pretzel sticks & I have extra thin for Ginger- she gets excited because she sees it - as long a the rest but thinner. Poppy will look at the cookie jar and beg, sometimes she is successful. They are fed well - a bit of everything, Kibble, eggs, vegetables, fish, foul & meat... so these are just a snack'.
Give them a try - save some $$$ & rest assured you are giving your dogs treats -where YOU know exactly what's in them.
I wanted to share because my girls do love them, I've had the recipe easily for 15 years & it's become a routine baking staple. Below a few photos of Poppy The Cookie Monster - the tiniest biggest begging beast here.
Enough dog stuff .. a cat next. A famous cat. A famous cartoon cat - can you guess?
Created to create - this includes baking!
