Day care... in the hot seat. I can't draw about this.
I have concerns with daycare with good reason why.

Daycare... when Storm was little as you are aware for many reasons I too wanted a break & needed one due to the many sleepless nights we experienced - and I needed the work , we needed the $$$ living the dream- you know... here are just a few things that happened :
- one daycare I interviewed the owner told me (after Storm pointed to a glass expressing wanting a drink) "he won't get a drink in this house until he learns to ask for it properly" she remarked. I looked at her stunned. Storm was deaf- he could not speak properly, needless to say I never left him there.
-One daycare lost Storm. Lost him for so long they had to phone me- "we can't find him."
Imagine that drive from Newmarket simply to get 'some peaceful time'... he was frightened and hid. They eventually found him under a bathroom counter. He never went back a couple of times but I never felt comfortable - do you blame me?
At school once after helping him with his garments in a bathroom the teacher left and tuned out the light... I just so happened to be volunteering (Thank God) & asked after 'not' seeing MY kid come thought the game activities "Where's Storm?" That never happened again and they got an EARFUL - you know it.
Another time his sitter got careless and Storm got into the baby teething gel - accident happen all the time. ***DO NOT HAVE this stuff lying around!!!*** He became lifeless, I rushed him to the hospital- Imagine THAT drive & they immediately shoved a tube to administer charcoal in him to absorb the poison. I watched the entire thing and it was not nice. That is just us!
We are surrounded by 'private' daycares - I see one everyday.. I usually hear kids crying every time they are out there -eventually, I do not enjoy it & we have discussed the issue in length - to the point I'd like to relocate other days I get frustrated & think 'Why should we move.... when we moved here we did NOT anticipate living beside a private daycare - listening to kids all day, if that was what we wanted we would have MOVED beside a school, I'm not alone I've had other neighbours express the same concerns.
At the same time 'I get it' & understand we are all just trying to make a living.. if you look after kids = LOOK after the KIDS. The kids appear to be looked well after' but with me working on 'dog bite prevention' books for one - dogs and too many kids stress me out. The police constantly pulling over people who run these stop signs - in this SCHOOL zone- stress me out, I know it's only a matter of time before a child gets hit. No wonder I long for a house in the hills.. alone.
I will report the next time I see 7 kids and a toddler on a trampoline - I would never forgive myself if I witnessed a situation and then found out a child was hurt. I find I worry about others kids, what do I do? It's like they are in my own backyard somedays - I wish I could IGNORE it but I can not.
Would YOU want me to - if it was your grandchild?
IF I see something I do not feel is safe for the children - I will contact authorities.
So SHOULD you!
How about before you have a child you try to figure out how to stay home to look after it yourself, have family you can trust or a care giver before you place your helpless child in a strangers home who sees your child as a source of income $ & not a little living being to be loved & watched not to be sat in a corner while they FB or IG.
* I would see in my sitter was on IG all day *IF so - there would be a 'NO. Go check. OR how about we demand our government into addressing the situation- either pay moms to stay home or we pay these *professional providers well to CARE for our children. Make more services available- Professional day cares in schools. This woman- Arrrrrgh! & she should GO TO JAIL. For herself... either way she will struggle with this forever... not as much as that family.

I hope some of you realize why I say this over & over
Cannabis- safer than daycare. YOU are the Gate Keeper for your children...
Parents are responsible for education on all things dangerous - truthfully.
Time to put things into fucking perspective so education& resources can be spent on checking daycares out - not shutting down 'legal' individual businesses.
I upgraded my Cockpit chair!! It was time, it is an important tool of the trade... & my old recycled! Poppy is loving it - me too.. NOW I'm about to draw- it was actually "too hot" out yesterday! LOL I had to come inside - Oh Canada! I love you!
Freezing one day - Humidx the next.
