It's the backyard bird count this weekend & it's easy & GOOD for you - go watch the birds in your backyard for at least 15 minutes.. it's proven relaxing. It's the perfect weekend to get the kids involved- and it's FAMILY weekend - Holiday Monday! Go look at the birds and submit what you see to assist scientists in keeping track of what's going on and where.
You'll also learn how to feed, what to do to help the living situatuions of birds and other little creatures. Birds are disappearing (as area all creatures) but the birds & Bees are what keeps us going! We are such egotistical creatures to think we don't need any help.
The bluejays already visited for breakfast -thankfully, as I've been seeing fewer lately, due to the squak and cheekyness bluejays are not aften as admired as other birds and they are shot' at occassionally WHICH IS ILLEGAL IN CANADA and you can be charged with an offence.... not to mention 'just fucking nasty. I feel the same way about HUNTING anything for sport'. I thought it would be fun to do a timelapse for the birds today to bring some awareness to counting the birds!
This cat - so close he can 'taste them... cheeky birds having a conversation outside his view.
Please keep your cats indoors or put a bell on their collar- especially with Spring here in a month - babies will be being born & they need help too.
Time to go out & fill all the feeders, peanuts & count some more - it's natures meditation- Birds are also amusing.. just watch & you'll see.
